Boosted Time Tracker reviews

A minimalist, ad-free time tracker for students, freelancers and anyone who wants to see where their hours go — its strength is simplicity, its pain is that this same simplicity strips away expected basics (widgets, sync, notes).
What users love
A no-frills tracker that does one thing and does it well
The core thing people love: a clean interface with no ads, no gamification, no extra clutter. Start a timer on a project, stop it — that's it. This focus is what keeps users in the app for years.
Has everything you and nothing you don't. Simple to operate and doesn't get in your way. My productivity has indeed been boosted.
Boosted does one thing and does it well: Time tracking.
Best time tracking app, hands down. No distractions from ads, gamification, interface or... other features!
Makes studying visible and genuinely motivates students
Students are the core audience: the app breaks time down by subject, shows progress charts and pushes you to keep a daily quota. For many it became a tool that literally nudges them to study more.
Your app helped me hit 8 hours of study a day in just one week.
fantastic app to track my study sessions. and it's report is also great. it helped me a lot by forcing me to study more and more each day
great app. simple but is best for calculating study hrs without too distractions. beautiful stats and is able to record my each subject separately.
One-time purchase over subscription — trusted and appreciated
Many specifically praise the honest model: one payment, no subscriptions, no add-on charges. Some grabbed lifetime access before the move to subscriptions and are glad they did — to them it's a sign of respect for the user.
Very nice app, I bought the one time premium, no bull s**t, just one payment, no adds ore additional payments.
I'm really glad that they offered a lifetime premium option before switching to subscription!
awesome so far! loved that the one time purchase was low but apparently they are switching to a subscription. no ads
Beautiful time visualizations genuinely motivate self-competition
Charts, stats and the calendar make spent time tangible: you watch productivity climb project to project, and there's a thrill in beating your own past mark. For many it also exposes how much time goes to procrastination.
it's nice to see how each day my productivity time per each project keep getting higher from the previous mark. thank you very much! it keeps me boosted indeed
a very helpful way to visualize progress towards my goals to keep me motivated.
The charts are nice to see and compare the use of my time compared to such procrastination events
What users hate
No home-screen widget is the single most-requested feature
To start tracking you must open the app every time, pick a project and a task — no quick start from the home or lock screen. People openly promise five stars the moment a widget appears.
This happy lacks widget and that's not good enough. That's the more reason I have not been using it.
amazing app, just add some Home Widget option for quick access .. and record time .. Everything is perfect..
I want widgets so I can see on my front screen and lock screen instead of opening my phone.
On Pixel 9 the top buttons sit under the OS bar and won't tap
The back button and the three-dot menu in the top corner overlap the Pixel notification bar, making it nearly impossible to delete or edit a record. The app hasn't been updated in ages, so for Pixel owners this has become a deal-breaker.
The upper menu options of back and delete do not work on a Pixel 9 Pro.
On a Pixel 9, it is basically impossible to delete incorrect records. The tiny three-dots menu in the upper right corner is triggered maybe 1 out of 50 times.
app is fine but on pixel 9 pro xl it overlaps with the OS notification bar so you can't really press the dot menu in the top right. super annoying.
No cross-device sync — switching phones wipes everything
Move to a new phone and your data and purchased premium don't follow: people log in with the same account and see an empty free version. Years of projects have to be set up again from scratch.
Excellent app . But unable to switch account between phones . If I change my mobile means I lost premium and backup data ?
I'd like to sync my projects to my new phone but from what I see it's not possible, so basically I have to start from zero again.
Currently I have switched to new mobile and login with existing premium account email I'd but the new mobile showing normal account... premium account features gone
No way to attach a note to a record or task
People want to jot down what they actually did in a given time block and tie a note to a record or task. It's missing — and for many that's the exact small thing standing between four stars and five.
Can you create the feature to add a note to a record or a date to a task or associate a time record with a task.
individual note saving option for each recorded time block. Being able to jot down details of what I had done during that time block would be very convenient.
Just one request, can you please add notes option on every task or record.
You can't run two timers at the same time
You can't track two activities in parallel — say a walk and a podcast. Manual entries support it but live timers don't, and users see the limit as artificial and easily fixable.
It's a real shame that you can not run two timers at the same time.
what is the logic behind not being able to track more than one project or task? It would pretty beneficial if it was.
Good at first glance but was disappointed that you can't have two timers running simultaneously.
Premium purchase breaks: money taken, no access
Some users got stuck on the payment page with money already deducted, others saw their bought "premium" vanish or suddenly be asked to pay again for "pro". Support emails go unanswered — a painful look for a paid product.
My money is deducted through upi ..but this app is stuck at transation page .
I bought "premium version" now it asks me to pay for "pro"
purchased premium, but it's gone from my account
Timers are locked behind premium with no way to try them
The headline feature — the timer — is paid-only, and that isn't flagged upfront. There's no trial to decide whether it's worth buying, which puts people off right at the start.
Most important features(timer) are in the paid version, there is no way to try it out. This should have been mentioned upfront.
timers are premium and only reason I downloaded soo
Free is limited. Allow at least a trial period so users can make an informed decision as to whether they want to purchase or not. Uninstalled.
Weak Pomodoro alerts: one quiet chime and you miss the end
The Pomodoro timer chimes once with a quiet sound you can't make louder, repeating or different. People who get into the zone simply miss the end of the interval — making the feature near-useless for them.
it only rings/buzzes once before stopping the timer and either pausing or continuing into breaks and further focuses. This isn't enough for me to notice and I often go into over time
when I'm in the zone I don't notice the simple chime that happens when a pomodoro section finishes and there is no option to change the sound, make it repeat or increase volume.
the application often misses to notify when the timer is up (Despite battery optimisation off, autostart on). The notification sound is also linked to the media volume, instead of the notification volume.
No tree structure: subtasks, categories and manual sorting missing
Power users miss hierarchy: project → task → subtask, categories for projects, and the ability to arrange tasks in their own order rather than alphabetically. Right now one subject with several assignments becomes a mess.
Seems to be no way to reorder a project's tasks once you've added them, nor even sort. For me this is a must have.
the application should have an option for subtasks within the tasks inside the project.
having one subject but multiple different assignments makes all the tasks very hard to sort through.
Silent data loss undermines trust in long-term tracking
Some users had months — even a year — of records vanish for no reason, and a deleted project can't be restored. For an app where people track for years, that kind of loss stings especially hard.
But suddenly, almost all the data disappeared—about a year's worth—without any reason.
No way to restore your data once you delete a project and it isn't clear whether you deleted a project or deleted a recording. Horrible.
Not working properly, not showing previous days reporting ,show today report only
