Facelab: Face & Body Editor reviews

What users love and hate, from real reviews

An AI face-and-body editor that promises to reshape hair, body and facial features from a photo, yet almost the entire review stream is about an instant paywall, a forced yearly subscription, and face/body detection failing before the user can edit anything at all.

What users love

When the paid engine actually fires, the edits are clean and precise

A minority of reviews praise exactly the moments when it works: precise edits that don't turn your face into someone else's, clear sliders, and no nagging to buy while using it for free.

they changes were precise and only changed it exactly the way i wanted without changing the face into someone else. One the better apps I have ever used. Perfect

On those rare occasions that it connects, you can do nice edits.

FaceLab is an impressive app that delivers high-quality face editing with precision and ease.

Weak spots

What users hate

The paywall hits before you can edit a single thing

The single most common complaint: the app demands a card and a subscription right after install, without letting you try a single feature. People uninstall before ever seeing what it can do.

as soon as you download it and you open it up it wants your credit card information. there is no way of using the free trial without giving them your credit card

installed, Pay walled instantly, uninstalled. DO NOT USE THIS APP IT IS NOT FREE

Requires a subscription before you can even try the app

Fails to detect a face even on a clear front-facing selfie

Over and over, "no face detected" pops up on photos where the face is the only, perfectly clear subject. Without detection the whole flow stalls — the user can't reach any tool at all.

kept saying "no face detected" even though my face was very clearly the only thing in the picture

no matter what picture I use it says "no face detected" every. single. time. and because of that I can't go any further. there is a full front facing face in every picture

Third-class app. It doesn't identify faces, and due to that, you cannot edit anything.

The free trial turns into a full year charged up front

People tap a "3-day free trial" and the full yearly amount is pulled instantly (anywhere from $20 to 3,200 rupees). Many can't even tell how or when they supposedly subscribed.

fraud app saying click for free trial when I click for free trial it takes me to Autopay and deducted 3200 from my account

Says 3 day free trial ... didn't like it - very limited use. Cancelled the first 5 mins but got charged the full year subscription.

This app charges you 7.99 instantly when you sign up for the free trial.

The subscription can't be cancelled — the option vanishes or errors out

A huge slice of reviews is about being unable to cancel: no option, a "service error" on every attempt, money still flowing out. It turns a one-time curiosity into a trap.

After an hour of installing try about ten times to Cancel my subscription Will not let me cancel it Magically comes up with service error every time I try to

this app does not indicate how to cancel a subscription before or after a 3-day trial

Scam , after they take your money, there is no way of canceling the subscription

Ads promise hair-style and hair-color changes the app simply doesn't have

A distinct wave of letdown: people install it for the hair-style and hair-color try-on shown in ads — and the feature is either missing entirely or wrecks the photo. Plain false advertising.

The ad on Facebook showed that you can change your hair color on here to see what color suits you best. hair color was not even an option!

The advertisement i saw showed you could change your hair colour soyou can test out new looks but this feature isn't on the app at all. Very misleading.

Advertised that you could change hair, but you can't.

Crashes and freezes the moment you pick a photo with a person in it

No stability: white screen on launch, freeze after picking a photo, a crash specifically on shots with a person. One user nailed the pattern — a coffee cup loads fine, a selfie kills the app.

Crashes evertime I select an image with a human in it. If it's a picture of a coffee cup it loads fine, selfie? Crash. Tried uninstalling and re-downloaded it. Issue persists.

the app doesn't even open. you get a white screen

app wont open it just stays frozen after I downloaded it

The result is just warping the photo, not real retouching

Those who do reach the tools describe the same thing: the app stretches and squeezes the image to fake a reshape, with no masks or anchoring. Faces go cartoonish and the result looks fake.

All this app does is warp the photo to give the illusion of a reshape. Way better apps out there

the ai with change your face all cartoonish and doesnt seem to work if youre fully sleeved out

Not at all what they publish. Ads are completely misleading, and results are completely fake looking

Body tools only work on a nude photo and effectively only "for girls"

Ads show a man getting muscles, but in practice the body editor switches off when clothes are on and often forces the result into a female template. For men and clothed photos the feature is useless.

The muscles only work without clothes. when clothes are on the muscle app dont work like some even free app out there.

Forget your gender. Even if you upload guys pic it shows for girls. It works only for girls.

The app is making fake claim of changing a man's body completely but it's more of a makeup aap that too mostly for women

Overpriced for what free apps do better

The price feels sky-high for a basic warper: people name free FaceApp, Hypic and others as the better alternative outright. It reads as "a cash grab before you can even test it."

Free FaceApp is better than this mediocre app

WAY TO EXPENSIVE. Plenty of free apps that do the same and better.

20 dollars a year for something you can do way better with gemini assistant. i was massively dissapointed.

Hair and features don't land: eyebrows on the forehead, color all over the face

When the tools do fire, placement is off: eyebrows and lashes land on the forehead, hair color smears across the brow, lipstick misses the lips. The editor's precision just fails.

poor operation. great if u want eyebrows placed on your forehead.

The makeup on the lips don't line up, the hair color is all over your forehead.

even unable to place eyebrow and eyelashes at the right place on the face

Recognizes only Eurocentric looks

A pointed signal of a narrow model: a user with braids finds only "white" hairstyles available, while the app mangles their real hair. Looks outside the Eurocentric template aren't supported.

there are only white hairstyles available 😂🤦🏾‍♀️. I put a braided me on the and it was a disaster the app only recognizes eurocentric hair and nothing else

DOES NOT WORK FOR CHUBBY PEOPLE! At least not for men.

Hair styles are very limited. They do not match the photos shown at all.
