What users love and hate, from real reviews

Black cabs in London and metered taxis in Israel hailed through an app instead of haggling on the street — convenient and predictable when it works, but its reputation is wrecked by drivers who cancel for cash rides and a customer support that is a dead-end bot.

What users love

When it works, it's the best way to get a London black cab

It delivers properly-trained black-cab service with no haggling: quick to order, drivers polite and punctual, tracked on the map along the route — for many it beats Uber.

It's absolutely brilliant being able to get black cab driver level service on an app. Just can't be beaten

Very easy to use. I enjoyed the automatic tip option and being able to track your driver and the journey

a necessary tool in London. way better then UBER

An honest meter with no arguing with the driver

The big win in Israel — you get in without arguing about the meter: the price is transparent, you know what you're paying for, and it's fairer for everyone.

you get into a cab in Israel and you don't have to argue with the driver to put on the meter! much fairer for everybody

No hustle, no negotiations, simple service, and paying just

excellent accountability, no haggling, always smooth

Friendly drivers make the ride a pleasure

When you get a good driver — courteous, punctual, helping with luggage and a wheelchair, chatting warmly — the ride becomes a small pleasure, especially for tourists and those with limited mobility.

Fantastically helpful (as I am on crutches at the moment), brilliant ride, lovely driver!

lovely patient driver helped me with a wheelchair

Fitted 4 adults, a baby and a whole heap of luggage. Will definitely use again

Pre-booking actually delivers a car on time

When the ride is pre-booked it often works flawlessly: the car arrives on time, the route keeps to the minute, and you reach the airport exactly when you need to.

the ride kept to exact timing. Thanks to this service I arrived at the airport exactly when I wanted to

They really get someone when you pre-book

nice to have pre order schedulong during busy times

Weak spots

What users hate

Drivers accept the booking, then cancel at the last second

The defining pain: a driver accepts, makes you wait, then cancels when a cash fare or a better offer comes in — leaving you to wait for the next one who may also cancel.

drivers refuse to take short distance rides and cancel orders

4 separate drivers accepted my ride, only to cancel while I waiting, wasted half an hour trying

apparently if accept your booking and better offer comes in They just cancel yours for that

No price shown before booking, so you pay whatever they decide

The app shows no fare estimate up front — no fixed price, not even a ballpark — so at the end the driver or the system can charge you whatever they like.

The app doesn't show how much money I should pay for the trip, which means the driver can charge me any price

show the customer a price before booking. This helps in making decisions

can't simply get a quote at all for a ride

Support is a bot with no way to reach a human

Any problem dumps you into a bot with a canned menu: no phone, no email, no live agent, and the chat just sends template replies or a link back into the app.

No option to speak with a human representative, only a closed loop unhelpful ai

They use a bot that never allows you to reach a real human even though it says you can

the chat only has built in questions that do not help with no option to actually ask for help

Drivers turn off the meter and name a price out of thin air

Drivers refuse to switch on the meter and demand an inflated flat price judged by your accent; refuse and they simply won't take you.

Drivers do not turn on the meter and request a ridiculous price based on your accent

Gett forces you to negotiate price after you have already waited for the driver to arrive

allows cabbies to input their own price and then pressure you to pay in cash anyways

Charged a cancellation fee even when the driver cancels

The system bills a cancellation fee no matter what — even when the driver cancels or stalls in place to make you cancel — and clawing the money back is a long fight.

12 ILS cancellation fee ???????? When I canceled right away

they also let drivers cancel your ride after waiting 20 minutes without any compensation or notice

Some drivers simply don't move after accepting the drive, and wait for the customer to cancel, which costs the customer cancellation fees

Can't find a car even when taxis are everywhere

Finding a driver drags on 15–20 minutes or more in the city centre at peak time even though the map shows plenty of cars nearby — you can't rely on it for a quick ride.

Can take over 15 minutes to find you a ride even when you are surrounded by cabs

it doesn't find anything in middle of city in busy hours

trying to find drivers who use the service is hard

Charged more than the meter, with hidden surcharges piled on

The final charge routinely beats the meter and the estimate — a "busy fee", "boundary charges", or mystery card debits you were never warned about.

App charged me £32 for a ride that was £21 on the meter

they claimed this was due to "boundary charges" even though we never left the city

they charged my card many times (1 for the ride, which was $94.80, and 4 UNKNOWN transactions each one $13.54

Registration and login break for no reason

The confirmation code never arrives on foreign numbers, the app claims an account already exists, or it demands the last 4 digits of an old card — and with no support reachable you're stuck in a loop.

The confirmation code to login never arrives

it claims my phone was used to create an account

Removed my account because I couldn't remember my credit card 4 last digits from 3 years ago

Driver leaves with someone else and there's no way to report it

The car pulls up, picks someone else and drives off in front of you — or the driver fakes the pickup — and the app has no button to even report it.

cab arrived, picked someone else up and left.. there is no way for me to complain

the driver decided to take a different passenger even though he saw I was there waiting. No way to report this in the app

a driver pretended to pick us up but didn't

Location and maps are wrong, forcing you to walk to the driver

Outdated maps drop the pickup pin away from where you actually stand: the app sends the car a couple of streets off or to your last location, and you have to walk to the driver.

the location is always wrong, they use a mapping system that is well out of date

sometimes sends the taxi to a couple of streets from where you are

gps is flaky causing issues with drivers locating me

Won't accept short journeys

After all the setup the app refuses to book a short trip: 2–3 miles to the station isn't worth its while, and you only find out at the very end.

you go through all the setup and then it tells you it cannot book short journeys

Can't book a ride for our family to King's Cross for the next morning because the distance is 2.8mi

drivers refuse to take short distance rides and cancel orders

Airport pre-booking only confirms 15 minutes before

You book the airport ride hours or days ahead, yet confirmation only lands 15 minutes before — and if no driver is free, you're left stranded with no fallback.

requested a taxi in advance from the airport, in both cases it was canceled and I waited forever for a new one

My company booked a cab for 6 am, now 7:30 still waiting. The cab was booked at least a week in advance
