Glow Eve Period Tracker reviews

What users love and hate, from real reviews

A simple period tracker users loved for years that, after merging with Glow, became a cluttered fertility-focused app gating your own history behind a paywall — and bled its loyal base.

What users love

For loyal users the prediction was reliably accurate

Those for whom it still works praise the accuracy for years — within a day or two, helpful for planning, and the free version is enough for many. That accuracy is exactly why people stuck with it for 5–10 years.

been 9 years & it's super accurate tracking & predicting my cycles!

It is always accurate in predicting period duration. I can rely on EVE as it is my personal private companion

On point with my cycle.

A warm women's community and forums kept people in the app

The social side — forums, groups, talking with women worldwide — was a value in itself; for some people the community is the one reason they still keep the app even now.

the community is as great as ever and the biggest reason I still have the app

Easy interface, i love the variety of forums!

Love engaging with the feminine community

The old Eve was simple, warm and clear from the first screen

The old version is remembered as a benchmark: warm colors, a friendly tone (it called you "babe"), the wheel calendar right on open, approachable for young girls — a simple tool that did exactly what was needed.

it even calls me BABE

warm colors and a good vibe

I used Eve in college when it was geared toward teens and younger adults - no fertility tracking, a sex option for "self love", simple UI and very approachable.

Weak spots

What users hate

The Glow merge is felt as the death of the old Eve

People deliberately chose Eve over Glow for its simplicity — and the forced merge gave them literally the same Glow: an unfamiliar interface, alien logic, lost "vibe." Long-time users are leaving en masse.

Glow taking ownership has ruined this app. When first looking for period trackers I chose Eve over Glow for a reason.

it's the SAME APP AS GLOW. LITERALLY IDENTICAL APPS

i liked it so much better when it was just Eve and no Glow. I don't like the interface. Eve used to be much simpler and easy to navigate.

The update freezes at 98% and goes to a black/white screen

The forced in-app update loads to 98% and hangs for many people — then a black or white screen. Reinstalling and clearing cache don't help, support stays silent, and access to data is lost.

the app suddenly now prompts you to upgrade ,with no option not to. loads to 98% and then black screen

it won't load the new format past 98%. I've lost all of my historical data and now it's useless. Uninstalling and reinstalling does NOT work!

App will not update, loads to 98% then freezes and the app screen goes black.

The update wiped out years of tracked cycle history

After the update or a phone change, 5–10 years of data simply vanish: no past periods, no prediction. Especially painful for those who kept records for doctors due to health issues.

Awful, years of data just gone with the new update. I would have been better off keeping a journal like the old times.

8 years of tracking gone. used to be a simple app

I have lost 900+ days of tracking due to the forced change

Logging a single day means dismissing a pile of premium pop-ups

A wall of ads stands between the user and the calendar: 5–15 pop-ups and "buy premium" banners on every open. The basic act of logging a period start turns into a five-minute fight.

I have to bypass 10-15 different promos just to log in my own data

just to add your period, you have to spend at least 5 mins closing pop-ups

closing down 5 ads for premium, then the + button is to log symptoms not add a period!

Your own cycle history is locked behind a paywall

The most outrageous part: the data you entered yourself — period history, average cycle length — is now visible only if you pay. No warning, no chance to back it up first. Analytics behind a paywall is one thing, but not your own archive.

Even your own history is now locked behind a paywall.

the most useful part of the app (cycle history) is behind a paywall

putting cycle history (tracks number of days) behind a paywall is a new low

Fertility is forced on people who never asked — insensitive and hurtful

The app is flooded with pregnancy and conception content with no way to opt out, even when you pick "period tracking only." It wounds those who can't or don't want kids, lesbians, and people who've had a loss — the constant "take a test" hits a raw nerve.

I keep getting fertility popup ads every time I open the app. I'm looking for a new tracker.

it thrusts everything fertility in your face, which, as someone who's a lesbian with no interest in having kids, I find completely useless to me

Can you imagine if somebody who is infertile came in this app to track their cycle and was bombarded with fertility stuff? Insensitive

Simple period logging became an unintuitive maze

The calendar "wheel" used to be the first screen; now you can't dig your way to it. The "+" button opens a fertility log instead of adding a period; people can't even find where to enter a start date.

It is no longer possible to add a period by tapping on the calendar day, as it brings up a "fertility log"

I came back to it after having my baby, and now it is a pain to use. The layout is not user friendly

First time into it I couldn't even find where to log my period.

The app crashes the instant you open it

For some users the app crashes immediately on launch; clearing cache, restarting the phone and reinstalling don't help. For weeks on end it's impossible to even log a period.

The app keeps crashing everytime I open the app. I have cleared the cache. Please fix this problem.

Crashes every time I open it today. Tried restarting my phone, clearing the cache, everything.

App keeps crashing, can't even log period. app needs fixing asap

After the update you can't log back into your account

The update logs people out and won't let them back in: email and phone are "not recognized," and trying to sign in pushes you to register a brand-new account on top of a decade of data.

now I can't even log back in. It doesn't recognize my email or phone number anymore.

Won't let me sign in, just keeps trying to make me sign up for a new account.

logged me out completely since update, no option to sign in only to sign up. 8 years of tracking gone.

Logged periods don't save

You enter a start date — it shows as saved, then next month it's gone. People log multiple times and records still vanish; the whole point of a tracker collapses.

when I put in my period start date it doesn't save. I often have to put in multiple times

lately nothing is saving. it will show as saved and then when I log the next month everything is gone

I log my period, then come back to find that it's not even there!

Dark patterns: fingerprint auto-charges and fake profile activity

The premium purchase screen opens on its own and sometimes self-triggers a fingerprint charge — even when exiting the app. On top of that the app posts "quiz" results as you, and PDF export invents periods that were never logged.

it has automatically began the purchase process, prompting my finger print to confirm the purchase. The final straw was when it automatically accepted my finger print when I EXITED THE APP

they have been pretending to be me and posting results to disgusting and inappropriate quizzes I never took

pdf export MADE UP periods that weren't logged??
