Endless "session expired" loop when switching accounts
The app logs people out on its own — especially when switching between two accounts — and then won't let them back in: entering login and password just loops back to the same "Session expired, please log in again" message, the screen stops reacting to taps, and it drags on for days.
Instead, I repeatedly receive the error message: "Session expired, please log in again." Even after entering my login credentials and attempting to sign in multiple times, the same message continues to appear, creating a continuous login loop.

the app logged me out a few days ago and when i try to log in, screen doesn't react... so i can't get in the app anymore
Accounts get disabled with no violation and no real review
People report en masse that their account was disabled "for no reason", with no rule broken, and the appeal goes nowhere: memories, photos and ties to loved ones get locked away, and support doesn't help.

App hangs on the loading screen and pops a "there's a bug" notice
A very common pattern: the app opens but spins an endless loading circle and never loads chats, then after a minute shows a pop-up about a bug. Clearing cache, reinstalling and updating help for a day or two, then it returns — while friends on the same phones have no issue.
now ir it load messenger at all but no pop-ups this time saying there's a bug just loading circle going continuously. This needs fixed now please.
my messenger experience a bug and unable to message and only loading screen. after a mins a message say there's a bug. But my other friends don't have any issue.

Forced "confirm your identity" cuts people off from chatting
After changing device or some "unusual activity", the app demands an identity check — a video selfie or passport/ID — and blocks messaging until then. The selfie "fails to upload", minors simply don't have the requested documents, and the person is left cut off from family and friends.
when I log in to my chat they blocked me saying I needed to confirm my identity which is by doing a video selfie 🤳 and like seriously I did and it is not working at all, it's always failed to upload and I am now unable to send messages

Messages get stuck on "sending" or arrive late
Even on stable Wi-Fi messages hang on "sending" and never go through, sometimes vanishing entirely; notifications arrive late or not at all. Sometimes you can send but never receive the reply.
At a point where things just say "sending" and never actually send, sometimes even disappears!

You can send messages, but you cannot receive them. It has been two days since I texted her, and I am not able to see her reply. Please fix the issue.
Frequent crashes and freezes, especially when switching profiles
The app crashes every other time you open a chat or bubble and freezes solid when switching between personal and business profiles — even on powerful recent phones like the S22 Ultra after a clean reinstall and with plenty of free storage.

Forced PIN lock on your own chats annoys people
People are irritated that accessing their own messages on their own phone now requires a PIN that seems forced on them.

Text box vanishes in Marketplace chats — no way to reply to buyers
Sellers can't reply to buyers on Facebook Marketplace: the chat won't open or the text box disappears mid-typing, so you can't even see what you're writing — leaving only one canned reply.
you cannot talk to people on marketplace, it just won't open the chat. useless

Stripped-down features: games, chat heads and Notes gone
Long-time users recall when you could play games, run polls and organize events, and "chat heads" bubbles opened straight from the screen. Now games are gone, bubbles are boxy and clunky, and Notes appear for some accounts but not others — the app feels hollowed out.
in recent years, they have removed all games and the Android (and iPhone according to friends) experience has diminished into such a dismal state. there is significant performance and quality of life degradation
Bring back chat heads! Bubbles are unusable The interface is terrible. You have to go into the app to open them and can't do it straight from the bubble like you could with chat heads. They're also boxy and ugly.
I dont have messenger notes in my main account, but in my other accounts they have it. I want to have my messenger notes now!
Blocking still sends notifications — a failure for harassment victims
Even after blocking, deleting chats, leaving conversations and deactivating the profile, the app still sends notifications when the blocked person tries to make contact — defeating the whole point of blocking for people escaping stalkers and abuse.
Messenger's blocking system is a serious safety flaw. I've blocked a user, restricted privacy settings, deleted chats, left conversations, and even deactivated my profile, yet Messenger still sends notifications when the blocked person attempts contact.
A block should mean zero notifications, zero visibility, and zero contact. Safety should not require leaving the platform.
