Peptalk: Daily Motivation reviews
What users love and hate, from real reviews
An app of curated motivational talks and videos from top speakers that genuinely changes some users' lives, yet locks nearly all content behind a subscription that only surfaces at the very last step after sign-up.
What users love
For some, it has literally been life-saving
The strongest reviews aren't about features but about daily talks pulling people out of depression, despair and even off the edge; for them the app became a voice that keeps them going.
this app, without a doubt, changed and saved my life
I started to listen to it over and over and over again it changed everything about who I was and what my plans are. This app saved my life I highly encourage it
I have depression, which is really hard to live with every day. I started listening to these videos every morning and they inspire me to not give up
A perfect daily ritual for mornings and workouts
Loyal users' core ritual is one talk in the morning or at the gym/on a run; the short clips set the tone for the day, replace mindless scrolling and turn motivation into discipline.
I watch one video every morning, definitely gets my mindset right every day. And they are condensed enough I always have time to watch one.
my motivation has turned into discipline thanks to this app
I love running, and listening to a great PepTalk. I love this app
The value is curated, distraction-free content from strong speakers
Fans admit the material exists on YouTube, but value the curated, distraction-free collection in one place — it becomes an "inner voice" and spans faith, money and grit.
I could find similar materials on YouTube, but the app's curated content without distractions is a major advantage. Listening to these motivational talks daily helps them become your inner voice
I like the app because it has everything on it. Faith motivation, grind and grit, money, all from top speakers .
Unbelievable app..... The best way to describe it is the Calm app for motivation. Well crafted.... Diverse.... So many topics.... Just great!
What users hate
The paywall hits at the very end, after they've already hooked you
Users are walked through sign-up, plan selection and personalization, and the price only appears when they reach to hit play — it reads as a bait-and-switch, not an honest deal.
Has you create a full account and wait until you go to watch a video to tell you the content is subscriptions based
bait n switch, signed up only to find out you have to pay! Should of said that in the beginning and let me decide. Deleted, uninstalled and unsubscribed.
ofcorse they excite you all the way till your almost done than boom charge you
Advertised as free, but everything inside costs money
The ads and listing promise free access, but in reality only the daily quotes are free — everything else is locked, and it feels like a flat-out lie.
advertised as a free app but it's paywalled after signing up.
app advertisement emphasized that it was free.
said was free to use, but I had to pay to be motivated
The same content is free on YouTube
Users recognize the clips and feel the app just repackages free YouTube and Spotify videos and sells them by subscription.
why would I pay monthly for motivation videos that are on YouTube for free and definitely copied from youtube
This App is a rip off. Way to much money, for something that just copy's a bunch of YouTube shorts, and blends them together.
Most of the content is stuck behind pay wallla and they don't tell you that until you sign up. Also videos are ripped off other productions and not their own content.
They charge after cancellation and before the trial ends
People cancel the subscription or delete their account yet still lose $40-66; some get charge attempts several times a day.
They took the $39.99 from my account before the free trial was up. I planned on cancelling.
I canceled my subscription, but they keep trying to charge my card multiple times a day
Got scammed by them. Signed up for a free trial, but cancelled my entire account. Them still got charged $40 for a year.
Support is dead: emails bounce, tickets go unanswered
The listed email is invalid and bounces, the widget keeps promising "back in 5 hours" forever — getting a refund or fixing a subscription issue is nearly impossible.
The email provided comes back as invalid and dosent even work. as far as the customer service goes this app is HORRIBLE.
what's going on? no response from support , emails bouncing
I've messaged support several times and it just says "be back tomorrow" all day. Loved the app but lack customer service is why it only gets a star
Demands a rating and payment before you can try anything
The app asks for a review and payment before the user has seen a single full talk — there's nothing yet to rate or pay for.
I haven't even used it yet and it's hassling me for a review at least let me login first lol
bad time to ask for rating as soon as you ask for money
Before you try the app they want you to rate and being broke i can't afford to pay..
Login and password reset just freeze
The sign-in button freezes after typing the password, the reset link loops back into the app, and accounts fail with "unknown error" — you can't get in.
might be a cool app but it never works is gets frozen when going to set a password I click confirm and nothing happens
But now i cant login to my account. With fb or email. Whats wrong? The button signin just freeze after type the password.
i can't even make an account bc the app keeps saying unknown error. whether i use Facebook or one of my 2 emails
Your chosen idols are ignored, and the speaker roster is divisive
Setup forces you to pick inspiring people with no "none" option, then serves someone else entirely; the roster is narrow and morally off-putting to some users.
I wasn't able to hear only the people I selected during the setup phase. Why ask the question if you are going to ignore my input???
The app gave me people to pick from, I choose people like Serrena Williams, Joe Rogan, David Goggins, Robert F Kennedy, Kate Williams, but all I keep getting are transgender women telling people to be brave
How are you supposed to say who inspires you when you either don't know them or none of them do? I just uninstalled the app because there was not an option to say "don't know" or "none"
Background music drowns the speaker, and playback keeps breaking
The music plays too loud over the talk, the playlist restarts itself, audio cuts out with the screen off, and there's no background playback — using it on a commute or workout is painful.
I gave it 4 stars because of the annoying music. It is so loud that it can be difficult to hear the speaker.
It restarts the playlist every time, so you constantly hear the same things or have to keep slipping until you find it. There is no android auto/car play compatibility
if you shut off the video, it will disconnect the audio after a short while... every single time. It just stops playing, and I have to re-open the display and play it again.
Thin, repetitive content: the app feels abandoned
No new clips for weeks, the same speeches scattered across different folders, some folders empty — it feels like the team took the money and ran.
absolutely garbage app, no new content for weeks at a time
lots of reposts of the same speeches in different folders as well as multiple folders that are just empty. Decent concept but feels like the development team just took our money and ran
got bored. Needs more content and a more organized platform.
