A minimalist, ad-free Pomodoro timer that many users adore for its cleanliness — yet its one core job, signalling the end of an interval, regularly fails.
What users love
Ad-free minimalism is exactly what people love
A clean, non-distracting interface with no ads and no paywalls is the headline reason for the praise. It does exactly what it promises and nothing more.
no ads it does what you need. Minimalistic practical tool.
Clean and Simple, nothing un-necessary, non-distracting pure tool. Zero complaints.
its very nice and completely free. No ads and paywalls a simple pomodoro app.
Perfect for studying and focus
When it works, it measurably boosts productivity: students break cramming into blocks, stop getting distracted every ten minutes, and start enjoying studying again.
I have never been this focused and productive before. I used to get distracted every 10 minutes whilst studying but not anymore.
great app, has made my studying much more effective and satisfying but most of all it made it rewarding. i'm finally enjoying studying again
this app is making me 3x productive since I use it
Customisable intervals and themes
You can set your own Pomodoro, short- and long-break lengths, a daily goal and a background colour — enough to build a custom '50/10 student' routine.
we can even do a custom setup of timer.
You can choose how long your pomodoros, short breaks, and long breaks are, plus your daily goal and the colour of the app.
Love the option to focus for 25 minutes or for an extended half a day
What users hate
The timer ends, but the bell never rings
The most frequent and damaging complaint: the interval runs out and there is no notification, sound or vibration at all. Users have to keep checking the screen, which defeats the whole point of the method.
Timer ran out but i got no notification at all.
The timer always runs out without making a sound or notification or anything. Unfortunately this makes the app completely useless to me.
the timer doesn't ring, it just quietly "doesn't" let you know that the time is up
Interval over — the counter slips into negative time
Instead of moving to the next interval, the timer starts counting negative seconds. You can't pause or reset it — only kill the process and restart manually.
it does this thing where an interval ends and it starts counting negative time. You can't pause it or reset it
after the timer ends, there is no bell and it just goes into negative seconds
Doesn't work, goes into negative time and doesnt alarm
With the screen off, the timer goes silent
Lock the phone or turn the screen off and the alert simply doesn't fire. Yet that's exactly how people want to use it — hide the distracting screen — and then the notification disappears.
timer don't work if you turn off your device display, this is frustrating because phone is very distracting
notifications don't work while screen is locked. defeats the purpose.
I keep missing my breaks and study sessions because alarm never goes when screen is off.
The alert is too quiet and too short
Even when the bell does sound, it's easy to miss: a single short beep instead of a sustained melody, with no volume control. Users ask for a continuous, alarm-style ring.
I can barely hear the notification sound whenever the time is up. I've missed it several times
it was not loud enough and you could not change it.
We need another ringtone, one that rings continuously.
The timer freezes and lies about the time
The countdown gets stuck in the final seconds, the notification freezes, and a five-minute break stretches to nearly ten. Sometimes a short break runs as a long one instead.
The timer will often get stuck, thus fail to notify on time. So a 5 minute breaks turns into almost 10.
the notification is always frozen at less than 20s left
The timer literally stopped at 0:05 for 25 minute work schedule
No statistics — you can't see your weekly progress
There's only a timer, no stats section. Students want to see how many hours they've put in over a week or month, and for many this gap is a dealbreaker.
I would love to see a statistics section added to the tracker. Currently, there is only a timer
Needs features to use 1. Stats (must)
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE 🙏 ADD a statistics button. Due to non availability of this I, a student can't use this app
The cycle doesn't reset between days
There's no way to start the day fresh: unfinished Pomodoros carry over, so the next morning the very first interval hands you an ill-timed 'long' break.
the cycle hasn't been reset, so when your 25 minutes are up it will give you a 15 minute long break on the first one.
there is no way (that I have found) to reset the number of pomodoros. So if I do two extra one day, those two are still marked the next day.
simple to use app just there is no reset button
An intrusive persistent notification and watch spam
A persistent notification stays up the whole time the timer runs, and the watch gets a new ticking update every second. You can't toggle the 'persistent' and 'reminder' types separately.
every second it would ping a new notification to my watch of the time remaining. I am not sure why this is the default behaviour
I don't need a notification the entire time any timer is running. I need reminders only.
When the timer starts, I receive notification on my watch, for every second.
Users ask for a quick-start widget
Starting the timer means opening the app every single time. A home-screen widget would let users launch it instantly without the distraction of unlocking and hunting for the icon.
the only missing thing is a widget. it's easier than opening the app everytime I want to start the timer
maybe a widget option to easily start the timer as soon I open my phone
Could use even a lil more palettes tho and maybe a streak widget
