A real slice of users genuinely loves it: the filters are beautiful, the detailing is rich, each "theme" yields 4 variants. Some call it the best AI headshots they've used, and it really does make you look younger.

Simple and fun — pleasant to share
Plenty of users find it easy and fun: the interface is clear, the photos come out, and people want to share them on social media and with family. Even the free version strikes some as brilliant.

What users hate
It used to be great — an update broke everything
The single most common complaint: people loved this for years, and after the AI switch they call it garbage and uninstall. "Bring back the old version" is a chorus of dozens of voices.
this used to be one of the greatest apps, where all the pictures were very cool, however, now it is one of the worst
Something horrible has happened over the last week that has destroyed this app. All of the pics are horribly distorted and deformed now.
Return to your original version...that was exceptionally well done, but this new ai is not doing you any good.
The AI pastes your face onto a stranger's skinny body
The defining mechanic of the new version and its core flaw: instead of editing your photo, the AI takes only the face and drops it onto stranger's model bodies in odd outfits. The result looks nothing like you.
This AI takes only the face + then applies it to other skinny Yt bodies.
It used to be really cool until they turned it into AI pictures where they add bodies and extra stuff that really aren't who you are.
Your face is put on some model's body, standing in a strange location, wearing some silly outfit.
They charge during the supposedly free trial
Many users report that after agreeing to a "free trial" they're charged immediately, cancellation doesn't work, and there's no refund. It reads to them as deception and a scam.

I registered for this app after being offered a trial period for free. However the app immediately deducted money from my bank account.
I was charged during the trial period. I cancelled 2 days after subscribing. it is not pending, the charge went through. where is my refund?
Weekly pricing shocks users and feels like a trap
A £7.99 / $8-per-week subscription (about $40/month) feels wildly disproportionate for an app used a couple of times a year. The weekly cadence reads as a deliberate trap.

was fun.. now, not. no free features. enough free services out there. (and $40/m?! LOL).
After you agree to pay like 8 bucks a months they switch to 8 per week.
A hard paywall right at the door
The app lets you try nothing without a card on file: the single free sample is "completely unusable," and any save demands a subscription. Users refuse to enter card details blind.

They give you nothing of value to see how it works before their credit card required "free trial". The one example you get is completely unusable.
Way to start with an ap is an immediate pay wall smh
Servers are perpetually overloaded — you can't use it
A constant "servers are busy / too many downloads" error blocks generation for months — even for paying subscribers. One user is especially bitter that servers "start working" right after the trial ends.
Trying to create a photo prompts a server busy message.

The app is always too busy. Been like that for months.
Confuses male and female, with no manual override
The AI insists on guessing gender from hair length: a haircut makes you "a man," long hair makes you "a woman." There's no button to set gender manually, so results come back as the wrong sex.
I cut my hair so the ap decided I am a man now and gives me only masculine views of my face. very sad.... now a 1 star
I've gotten female results from pictures of my definitely male face that I submitted.
longer hair doesn't mean the subject is female. AI seems to think it does. Maybe an option to tell the program if you want male or female results.
Group photos are gone — now only one face allowed
You used to be able to process photos with several people (up to 5) — that's what drew in friends and family. Now the app complains "only one face" even when there's a single person in the shot.
When I first started using this, it wasn't limited to a one-person image, & I was able to have group photos (up to 5 people, for free)
now keeps moaning only 1 face in the pic allowed on a picture with 1 person in it
Was good at first but now will only let you have one face, not like before when i could have myself and my husband or kids in a picture
The result doesn't resemble you and comes out distorted
Generated faces don't match the original — extra arms appear, features warp, skin tone shifts. Light skin goes dark, dark skin goes white, and there's no way to correct the image.
my favorite one is the one that gives me either 3 arms or hands when my hands are not even in the photo
Most of the photos look nothing like the original subject. Can't modify the images to correct.
It has started making light complexion people very dark, not a tan. What's really happening?
"Face not found" on photos that clearly have a face
Face detection has degraded: the app fails to see a face in perfectly valid photos, especially with a beard, and makes you watch an ad only to say "no face." Some suspect it's a trick to serve more ads.

now it just makes you watch an ad and says the pic that it suggested now doesn't have a face in it. It seems like it is just a scam to make you watch ads now.

Ads flood the free version
The free tier is a wall of ads: "20 ads and still no new profile pic." Ads block you from even trying it out, and you can't download without subscribing.

Invasive access to photos and privacy fears
The app demands access to all photos and, users say, starts uploading shots without asking. There are fears of surveillance and accusations of harvesting data "behind terms and conditions."
And will only do anything if I give it access to every one of my photos.
