QUITTR - Break Free Now reviews
What users love and hate, from real reviews
An app for quitting porn and masturbation with a streak tracker, site blocker and community — but nearly everything sits behind a paid subscription that's only revealed after a long onboarding.
What users love
When it works, it genuinely helps people quit and hold a streak
Those for whom it works are sincerely grateful: it helps them stay focused, count days without relapse, and «think twice» before falling back. For many it's the first support that actually worked against the addiction.
great app, I quit porn and never done it again
I completed 10 days without masterbation using this app and it works very great because it helps me to stay clear and focused
Man, this app making me think twice before relapsing (it's a good thing by making me think twice)
Motivates through identity — faith, masculinity, becoming a better self
Its real strength isn't features but framing: it taps the desire to become more disciplined, closer to God, more self-assured. The «become yourself / alpha / righteous» angle resonates with its religious, young, male audience.
The greatest app I've ever encountered and the best thing is that, it motivates you to become a good person who's able to achieve your goals and makes you have self control and most importantly self confidence.
when I found this app to help me to be masculine focus it the best
very good, puts me in a path closer to God
What users hate
A paywall sprung at the very end, only after a long onboarding
Users are walked through dozens of questions and promises, then hit with a subscription demand on the final screen. Many feel tricked: there was no upfront warning, and no free mode or trial exists at all.
You make people go through a bunch of dialogue and end up slapping a price at the end. I would have loved to know up front if this was a paid app
yeah after wasting 20 minutes of my time telling me how great my journeys gonna be they gave me a pay wall
I downloaded this app answered all the questions, set it all up ready to. Deleted it as soon as I realized that I have to pay.
Charging to escape an addiction feels morally wrong to users
The core grievance: porn is free, yet the cure costs money. People argue such apps should be non-profit or at most have a tip jar, and accuse the developers of profiting off others' suffering.
putting a paywall in front of the users who could change their lives for the better with your app, is morally wrong and appalling
Porn is free yet the solution is slapped with a price. Yall are part of the problem.
Apps like this shouldn't be subscription based. they exist to help people quit a nasty habit they should be free with maybe a tip jar if anything
Updates break login, locking people out of paid accounts
After an update the app stops letting people in: it treats them as brand-new, streaks and progress vanish, and re-login through Google fails. It hits hardest those who already paid for a year.
new update made my app stop working canceled my subscription too
thanks for stealing my money guys! rolled an update out that completely broke my app and doesn't let me login and keeps trying to get me to make a brand new account
Just had an update where I'm locked out of my account. It's like I've downloaded the app for the first time, except I haven't.
Stuck on the «Continue» / «Let's Go» screen, can't get past the plan
After onboarding and the «custom plan» screen, the «Continue» or «Let's Go» button simply does nothing: nothing happens and reinstalling doesn't help. People physically can't get into the app.
no matter what I do the app will not go past the 4 slides after you become a member. I hit "lets go" and nothing happens.
Once I get to the "Your plan" part of the introduction, nothing happens after clicking "Continue".
It won't let me past the continue button
The site blocker — the headline feature — doesn't work
The content blocker — the very reason many install the app — blocks nothing on Android: porn sites stay accessible. For a tool whose whole point is cutting off access, that's a failure of the core function.
content blocker doesnt work
does not block websites at all. everything is still accessable
internet filter doesn't work and don't have options to block in android
Paid and got an «empty timer»: thin content, many features broken
Those who do pay describe an empty shell: a bare day-counter, a couple of articles, no community or push notifications. The AI bot, the camera panic button, the research links — all advertised, none working.
There is no community, no widgets, no push notifications. It's an empty timer that counts on.
It speaks of the front facing camera opening when the panic button is pushed, but it doesn't happen. The research tab takes you to a broken PDF link.
Way too barebones to be charging to use. I'm tempted to dispute the charge because this app is so empty
Bait-and-switch pricing: the «80% off» becomes the full price at checkout
A «one-time» 80–94% discount is dangled, but at the Google checkout the price is suddenly different and higher. The subscription is forced to a full year without clear consent, and refunds are impossible — read as outright deception.
The first offer was for 80% off at $1.66/mo, totalling $19.92/year, I tapped the offer and was taken to the Google checkout screen where I was asked to pay $33.99.
i was scammed for 80% off deal
They charged me the full annual subscription when l subscribed for a month.
The upsell pops up on every launch and blocks the app
Even for those who used it free for a few days, the premium-purchase screen starts appearing on every open with no way to close it. People have to relaunch the app 2–3 times just to reach any features.
There's no longer a way to close the "plus" membership microtransaction that appears EVERY TIME YOU OPEN THE APP.
WHEN YOU OPEN THE APP IT TRYS TO SELL YOU THEIR PREMIUM OVER AND OVER I JAVE TO GET OUT OF THE APP AND REOPEN IT 2 OR 3 TIMES TO ACTUALLY USE IT
whenever i open this app it just Show me "We've made you a custom plan" while i never asked for, and i just stuck there, there is no Option to Close the page
Frozen on the loading screen — the app won't start at all
A separate cluster of complaints: the app simply won't load past the splash screen, hangs forever, and reinstalling does nothing. Sometimes it starts a day after paying for a subscription.
it gets stuck on the loading screen when I try to use it
app never loads. tried uninstalling multiple times, and reinstalling.
I can't even get past the loading screen a day after I bought a 32$ subscription
The paywall shuts out the teenagers who need it most
Much of the audience are teens with no money or card, and the paywall lands squarely on them. An added «16+» gate (despite a store rating of «everyone») leaves younger users out — exactly where the addiction tends to start.
What are young kids and teenagers supposed to do with this cause that's where it starts, wait to make money to quit porn?
I have to pay to use the app not good for me since I dont have money im a child man
I don't have any money I'm 16—you guys shouldve told me before making us answer a lot of questions
Payment goes through, access doesn't: money taken, no account created
The worst case: money is charged (even for the lifetime plan) but the app won't open or log in — the profile never registered. There's no support, emails go unanswered, refunds are impossible. Users flatly call it a scam.
App is barely functional and after paying the lifetime plan I can't even use the app. I can't log into my account. Waste of time and money
horrible experience I paid for subscription and made a profile. They literally just stole 10$ bucks from me and I don't even have a profile it didn't register but they sure did take my money.
bought the subscription then couldn't even open the app. this is a scam that benefits off the addictions of others.
Asks you to rate it before you're even allowed to use it
The rating prompt fires at the very start, before anyone has tried anything. It both inflates the score and annoys: people give five stars «to be at the top» or complain they're asked to rate blind.
Trash app that scams and makes you rate b4 testing
Haven't tried it yet but the app wants me to rate it. Will update after some time
How do you rate the app before using it??
