   Zero Accountability. I was a dedicated Valvoline customer for years. My family’s vehicles were all serviced there without issue — until my last visit, which was an absolute disaster. After an oil change at the Valvoline in Johnston, RI, my hood flew open on the highway. The result was a $9,000 insurance claim. Valvoline denied all liability, insisting their bay video showed the technician “closing the hood per policy.” I’ve seen the video myself, obtained through my insurance company, and that claim is simply false. The footage clearly shows the tech dropping my hood from about 4 inches and giving it a quick lift up. That is not the way to close a hood. A proper hood latch engagement requires a 12-inch drop to fully engage the mechanism. This hood was closed gingerly, not correctly — and the consequences were severe. My insurance paid the claim, but I’ve asked Valvoline to at least cover my $1,000 deductible as a basic gesture of good faith. Let’s be honest: this incident would not have happened if I hadn’t been in their bay that day. Covering roughly 10% of the damage — the part directly tied to their mistake — is the bare minimum any responsible company should do. Valvoline chose not to. And that tells me everything I need to know about how they value their customers.

   LONG WAIT. Once again, stuck in line for a ridiculous amount of time. Two cars in front of me when I arrived 1.5 hrs ago. Still waiting and won't be back to any Valvoline again.

   Wait time. The app always says the wait time is 0-10 minutes. The wait time has been 20 minutes minimum the last 3 times I’ve been there.

   Non-functional. App doesn’t load. Just the opening screen - *forever*. Exceptionally disappointing. (Which I’ll grant has been my experience with the business itself over the last few years - used to be great, and then _ I have no idea what happened, but every Valvoline location I’ve been to, has been phenomenally disappointing.)

    Could be better. This app would be better if they offered a rewards plan. This app just shows where u can get 10 dollars off an oil change in your area not any coupons on full service radiator, transmissions. The app could remind you when to come in but ok

    Junk. Total junk.. waste of space on my phone. Does not do anything you can’t do on their website directly or on “maps”. DOES NOT GIVE YOU PRICE QUOTE. All you can do is lookup locations and phone numbers which you can do on maps or their website anyways. Waste

    Wait times are ridiculous. Never had a "15 minute oil change" after a "0-10 minute" wait. Not even close. If you can't have reasonably accurate times, just remove that feature.

    Not accurate, bad coupons. The estimated wait time said 0 to 15 minutes. I waited over an hour. It always says 0 to 15 minutes. The wait time feature is worthless. Similarly, the coupons are worthless. Five and seven dollars off? Really? The Groupon is way better.

    Wait times posted are wrong. Really only got the app for the wait time estimator. Went to one that said 0-10 min wait. In reality I waited for over an hour. Not accurate at all.

    Wait estimates are way off. Tried to use this app to plan my day and it said to expect a 0-10 minute wait. Here I am in my car 40 minutes later writing this review. Completely lost faith in the app after this experience.

    Useless app. The app is worthless. It shows locations, just like every map app. It doesn’t allow you to check in, see previous services, manage your vehicles, or anything else like profile. At best it has coupons but those aren’t hard to get out side of the app.

    App Coupons Disappoint. The app offers me $5 and $7 off conventional or synthetic oil change, but when I type in oil change near me Valvoline is the first thing to pop up with 50% off and $25 off conventional or synthetic oil change. Keep this app if you want the BAD deals.
