SnoreLab : Record Your Snoring reviews
What users love and hate, from real reviews
An overnight recorder that captures and scores your snoring: long-time fans track remedies for years and bring the data to their doctor, but newcomers are repelled by aggressive paywalls and a detector that mistakes fans and aircraft for snoring.
What users love
Evidence for the doctor and sleep study
Many bring SnoreLab reports to their doctor, ENT or sleep specialist — clear, well-formatted evidence of snoring and apnea. The recordings help people get referred for proper testing, and for some the app revealed apnea more vividly than an actual sleep study did.
This app made it very apparent that my snoring was of concern. Within a week I got an appointment with my ENT, and I am now scheduled for a sleep study.
This app is a miracle! I've had sleep studies but didn't snore much in them. This app proves that I truly have extremely bad sleep apnea! It gives me something to show my doctor and specialist
was very helpful in helping me catch my snoring and getting diagnosed with sleep apnea. now I'm on cpap and having more quality sleep!
Turns invisible snoring into measurable progress
The core value for fans: you can test different remedies — incline pillows, nasal dilators, mouthpieces, mouth-taping, Snore Gym — and see in numbers and charts what actually works. People track trends for years and meaningfully cut their snoring.
works great! saw how bad my snoring was before I started using an anti snoring device. then saw the changes in my sleep. after a month I feel better and more energetic then I have in years! highly recommend!
In less than a week using this app, I was able to test several inexpensive devices and change some of my habits to reduce my snoring, dramatically.
Real data about your own snoring with tools to track individual contributing factors. Game changing; and that all in the free version.
Hearing your own snoring is sobering and convincing
For many the app revealed for the first time just how loudly they snore — an emotional jolt that motivates action and finally proves their spouse right. The audio is clean, plays back well, and even catches sleep-talking.
Incredible! When you hear your own snore - it changes your world!
I had no idea I snored, but sound recordings don't lie. I'm trying different things to see how it affects the snoring, and the app lets me make notes on each night. very useful.
Wife moans that I snore loudly and keep her awake. Did not believe her - but the SnoreLab app proves I do.
Low battery drain for overnight recording
Despite running all night, the app is gentle on the battery — typically 10–15% per night with no charging. For cordless recording without cooking the phone on your nightstand, that's a real plus.
excelent, comprehensive; lot of info offered; low battery consumption - less then 10% overnight, phone unplugged
It does record everything, without gaps, and low battery usage (maybe 15%., I don't have to plug it in)
very informative and useful to track the effect of different remedies or behaviours.
What users hate
The detector flags any background noise as snoring
Fans, rain played through speakers, aircraft, coughs, talking and even rolling over get logged as snoring. People listen back and find not a single real snore, yet the app paints an "epic" night. Without a perfectly silent room the data can't be trusted.
Confuses jet aircraft, helicopters, rolling over in bed and birds sounds as snoring
It can’t even tell the difference between rain sounds and snoring. I sleep with Spotify playing rain sounds all night, and it keeps flagging that as snoring.
Turned it on and didn't sleep, but app showed I snored for 53 minutes...
The free version locks you out every other day
You can't use the app two days in a row: after a few nights it locks and forces you to skip a day. The free tier used to offer more — now almost everything sits behind a paywall, and people feel it as a funnel forcing them into a subscription.
You cannot run the free version on two consecutive days. Bye.
Can't use it 2 days straight unless ypu pay 😔
only get a few days of tracking before it makes you pay, scummy
"Free" is really a demo that demands your card upfront
The app is marketed as free, but without a subscription it's just a demo: results stay hidden, recordings won't play back. They demand card details before letting you truly try it — which reads as a con and a scam.
A demo only without a subscription, should not be offered as a free app!
cant tey with out giving cc info, screams scam
Useless without a subscription and no true free trial
The "free" 7-day trial charges you anyway
Big letters promise 7 days free, then on the day the trial ends — or even without subscribing at all — they take money off your card. The cancel reminder never arrives, refunds are hard, and support contacts are nowhere to be found.
7 day free trial it says in big letters, and then charges you!!! What a con. Can't find any contact details
I tried the free trial and the day my free trial ended they took money from my account. they didn't wait for a day or even a few hours.
my money was taken from my account without subscribing for a premium. I want my money back!!!
The subscription holds hostage data you already paid for
It used to be a one-time "lifetime" purchase — now old features are blocked behind a yearly subscription on top of what you already bought. Stop paying and you also lose access to past recordings you made while premium.
I purchased the "one-time" fee subscription several years ago which supposedly came with permanent access to all app features for "lifetime". Now all the new features are blocked
cuts you off from accessing your past data if you don't renew subscription. That's not nice as you paid for the past data.
I paid for premium, gained access to full night recording and playback. then when my premium ended, it stopped me from accessing the full playback of the nights I recorded whilst with premium. what the heck?
Recording cuts off in the middle of the night
The one core job — recording the whole night — works only sometimes: it stops after 10–60 minutes, skips an entire night, or only kicks in toward morning. No pattern, and you only discover it once you wake up.
On multiple occasions the application will stop recording a nightly session. What good is this app when you only get an hour's worth of results
it completely missed my second night of sleep. I started it, placed it face down (like it told me to) woke up, and it was like nothing ever happened. A waste.
one night it'll record the whole night and the next it'll stop after 5-15 minutes after going to sleep... then restart several hours later when I'm about to get up.
The snore score is arbitrary and doesn't reproduce
The same snoring scores "epic" one night and "light" the next. On two phones with identical settings, one recording scored 78 and 4. For tracking trends over time it's useless — there's nothing to anchor to.
What's seen as epic snoring one night is not rated the same the next.
Recorded full night on 2 phones, the snore score on one was 78 and 4 for the other, the same settings in the app on both phones
snore score seems to some degree arbitrary
A loud "Start" button that doesn't actually start
After hitting "Start" you must wait for a separate "OK" button, or the session won't record. A sleepy user taps Start, flips the phone face-down, and loses the night. On top of that, the pre-session flow buries you in confirmations and email-opt-in prompts.
after hitting start u gotta them wait for the ok button which is just stupid. hitting start when you super tired but start dont really mean start.
I don't need 27 million interruptions after I choose to start session. just start the damn session! app worse than it used to be. missed 3 nights of data.
In the first 15 minutes they've managed to pester me 4 times about allowing email updates.
The subscription is nearly impossible to cancel
Cancelling is a battle: the expired-premium pop-up returns even after you tap Cancel, the app won't open past the upsell page, and you can't delete your card from settings. People cancel several times over and still see charges.
Wonky useless app that's almost impossible to cancel. Fourth try and still not free of it.
It took an act of Congress to cancel. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
even hitting cancel, the pop up comes right back up. App is entirely unstable in this state.
