What users love
Beautiful, readable maps and interface — even when the rest fails
Looks are what nearly everyone praises, even the unhappy ones. Clean graphics, pleasant map colours, and clear turn and junction cues that many find easier to read than Google Maps. It's often the reason people add a star.
The visual aids for turns and exits are SO much better than Google Maps.
The layout and maps are pleasant to the eye. That's the feature that makes it 2 stars instead of 1.

Indispensable on travels without signal: offline maps, cameras, curve warnings
Loyal users have relied on Sygic for years on trips across Europe, national parks and mountains where there's no signal: maps live on the device, use no data and just keep working. Speed-camera alerts, sharp-curve warnings and live speed are what brings them back.
Best so far. I've been using Google maps and Waze for years( I like them free coz I'm tight). tried this on android auto and I immediately paid for premium. this is excellent.
not as good day to day as Google maps, but when there is no phone signal, Google is as much use as a chocolate teapot, Sygic just keeps working
great app. essential if your traveling in the mountains or low signal areas like National parks
What users hate
Core navigation features are locked behind a subscription
Voice, sound, zoom control, lane guidance, Android Auto — the things rivals give away for free are paywalled here. Without paying you drive blind, with no voice prompts, and miss your exit right on the highway.
Dangerously bad. Sound is a premium feature. Being able to control the zoom is a premium feature. Driving without having to constantly look at your phone is a premium feature... Absolute unusable garbage.
free version is simply a map. all guiding features are disabled unless you pay.
be prepared to pay for everything because apparently you have to pay just to get voice instructions I was using it driving down the highway waiting to hear my instructions almost drove right by my exit
The "lifetime" license was taken away and you're forced to pay again
People bought navigation "forever" years ago, and now voice and other paid-for features have been stripped out and moved into a subscription. Longtime users see it as outright betrayal and leave for Google Maps and Waze.
I previously paid for a lifetime license. now they're moving all of the basic features into a "premium" subscription model. making the whole app totally useless. uninstalled!
I used to love this app and even purchased a lifetime license. But when Sygic betrayed us premium lifetime owners by moving major features, that I had paid for in the past, and locking them behind a subscription paywall, then that was it for me.
I bought a lifetime license years ago, and the voice guidance feature that worked in the license I bought years ago was deleted now!
Full-screen ads for camper and motorbike modes even for paying subscribers
Even after buying Premium, users keep getting intrusive banners and full-screen pop-ups pushing caravan or motorbike add-ons — sometimes right while driving at night. It's annoying enough that people refuse to renew.
Insists on regularly showing you full screen ads for modes I'll never use despite paying for premium. I don't own a caravan or motorbike, stop flashbanging me with a fullscreen all white ad when I'm driving at night.
Unbelievable spam I paid for this app and almost every time I use it I'm spammed with fullscreen ads regarding paid extra features . Unacceptable. I don't even have an RV or an MC. Sod off!
App is good, but getting hacked off with getting constant adverts on a paid app. I don't want motor home adverts or any other adverts, it's too often, intrusive & annoying. Won't be renewing
Routes send you on detours, into oncoming traffic and down roads that don't exist
The app plots pointless detours, demands U-turns on motorways, sends you the wrong way down one-way streets and onto roads that aren't even finished. For a GPS this is the core job — and here it fails worse than free Google Maps and Waze.
Lots of great features. Nice interface. Very inefficient routes. Takes massive detours and pointless routes.
it calculate my journey putting me to drive on a motorway which is not finishet and not open yet! this is bad, very bad!
Provides too many nonsensical routes, like turning left on an overpass to a highway beneath or turning the wrong way down one way streets.
Crashes and freezes, especially a few minutes into Android Auto
The app reliably crashes or freezes to a black screen 5–20 minutes into a drive, and restarting it while driving is nearly impossible — you have to shut off the car. Many keep Google Maps on standby precisely because of this.
I will cancel my subscription. The reason i pay for it is for using sygic with android auto. But last month there was not a single time that the app will not crash some minutes after start driving. And in order to fix you must force stop it at phone, something impossible while driving.
the app has not got me to a long range destination 1 single time without locking up.
Feature rich app.. offline maps are terrific, but app freezes after 2-5 minutes via Android Auto, making it completely useless.
Maps and POIs are years out of date, new streets are missing
Housing estates and streets 5–6 years old are still missing from the map, points of interest are stale, and there's no way to report errors. For a paid service where map data is the whole point, falling this far behind free rivals is fatal.

I didn't realize before purchasing that maps POIs are years out of date, some like 5-6 years, awful.
Speed limits are shown wrong and update too late
The app shows the wrong speed limits — 70 where the sign says 40, mislabels school zones, and only updates a few kilometres after the limit changes. This triggers false warnings and leaves you unable to trust the number on screen.

the speed limit monitoring is awesome however the app is not accurately reflecting when the speed limits change. I have gone miles in a 64mph zone for example before it finally updates the speed limit change
And don't even think about relying on it to tell you what the speed limit is. You would be better off just randomly picking a number.
Search can't find addresses or places by name
To find anything you need the exact address: search by a shop's name returns nothing, or suggests a location thousands of miles away. People end up looking the address up in Google Maps and typing it in here — using two apps at once.
Search function simply doesn't work I live 2 Miles away from a Supermarket Called ( Asda ) in London it suggested a Location in New Mexico 5300 miles away
you can't add waypoints? That seems very poor.
what i hate is the search tool. Compared to google this is rubbish. I can't find the address and even though i have premium i end up using google maps
Offline maps won't download and still demand an internet connection
Map downloads stall at 80–90% or never start, and even already-downloaded offline maps refuse to work without a connection — the app says "no internet". This strikes at the very reason people buy Sygic in the first place.

Recently I tried opening Sygic while having no internet connection. It refused to load with a message saying that it needs an internet connection.
I downloaded offline maps, yet it asks me to get a signal before it can generate a map..
An over-chatty voice confuses turns with "curves" and floods you with needless prompts
The voice assistant endlessly repeats "keep going straight", calls ordinary turns "curve" (or even "curb"), mangles its grammar and distracts the driver with a stream of pointless instructions. Some just mute it or switch to terser rivals.
If I have to hear "sharp CURB left" or "sharp CURB right" one more time I will lose my mind. It says there are curves (or curbs as it says) on perfectly straight roads.
Talks way to much even when you only have alerts only on. When you're coming to an intersection it says curve coming up...duh! A turn is not a curve.
spoken English grammar is wrong. places unnecessary plurals on the end of nouns.
Double charges, refused refunds and billing confusion
People get charged twice — both by Sygic and by Google Play — a yearly plan is billed as monthly, a purchase won't transfer to a second phone, and refunds are denied. Support replies with canned templates and drags on for months, deepening the sense of being scammed.
offline maps won't download and I was charged twice for the premium sub.. once by sygic directly and once by google play ..
I installed the app paid what they said was a yearly fee of $17.00 they charged my card & said it was for 1 month
disappointed, paid for pro, but it wouldn't recognize my upgrade when I installed on my Samsung S21. asked for a refund, denied
