Teaches you to speak, not tap options
The method of real video dialogues and speaking aloud feels like talking to a live person: people say they reach basic phrases and full sentences within days, and it sticks better than tapping an answer on screen.
My favorite feature is the conversation practice because it feels much more like talking to a real person.
within a week of using this app I could have a basic conversation in another language way better than Duolingo

Storytelling makes the alphabet easy
Delivery through stories and charming tutors removes the fear of an unfamiliar script: people say Hangul felt hard until it was woven into a story, and the alphabet sinks in unnoticed and fun.
I thought the Korean alphabets were hard until they incorporated the storytelling to learn the consonants and then the vowels. I had fun with the story not knowing I was actually learning the alphabets
The videos that teach Hangul are also very interactive and easy to understand.
the techers are very sweet and they teach very nicely
Beats the green owl for speaking
Those tired of grinding the same things daily in Duolingo openly call Teuida faster and more practical for real speech — especially for Korean and Japanese, where the speaking focus delivers tangible progress.
This is way better then duolingo as soon as I started using Teuida I learned way more but when I was with duolingo I had to learn the same things each day
I have tried duolingo and many other apps but this is the best, bcz it teachs you practicaly
I learned more stuff here than the green owl
What users hate
Speech recognition rejects correct answers
The app's core mechanic — speaking out loud — keeps marking correct answers wrong: people repeat a phrase five times, shout it, slow it down, and it still 'can't hear' them, trapping them on a single word for hours.
I have to repeat myself more than 5 times almost every lesson for the app to either identify that I am saying what it wants, or it completely misses it all together even when I slow down and put emphasis on what I am saying
terrible I littrely said it perfectly and it said I said it wrong definitely do not recommend at all
I say "배" the microphone catches "빼 , 메, 네 " SO THAT MAKES ME REALLY ANNOYED
The mic flat-out stops working
Beyond recognition errors, for many the mic simply stops responding for months: permissions granted, cache cleared, app reinstalled — yet the voice isn't recorded and the lesson can't be passed, leaving people stuck on the very first chapter.
been months since the microphone doesn't work and I've talked with other learners, their mics also don't work
Microphone doesn't work even though I gave it permission, stuck at the hello in 3 ways (1st chapter) for hours.
Even with microphone permissions on, it still doesn't pick up my voice, no matter how loud I am.
Google sign-in freezes at the door
New users can't even create an account: the 'Continue with Google' button does nothing or freezes the screen, email sign-up throws an error — and someone who downloaded the app to learn never gets past the login screen.
The "Continue with Google" button does absolutely nothing. No error message, no loading screen, nothing.
everytime I tap on continue with Google it freezes up 😤 other options work but I don't have account of those.
Can't even get past the log in screen. Every time I click 'sign up with email,' the screen freezes.
Paywall and 'keys' choke the learning
Enthusiasm hits monetization: a daily lesson cap and 'keys' for unlimited access force you to stop mid-stride, and teens and those who can't pay complain that an educational app locks the core behind premium.
there are a lot of ads and you have limited lessons a day, but, apart from that It's awesome
I don't like the subscription thing because it's not right for those who can't afford the premium to use it. If it's for teaching then keep it free for a while
I think they should give us 5 or 6 keys for the first time
Ads and forced Google Play kick-outs
Ads for other games appear between lessons, and worse — you can't just close them: at the end the app forces open Google Play instead of letting you return to studying, which for some makes the product unusable.

the unskippable adverts for games makes this app unusable. a real shame, because otherwise the content is great

Too few languages to choose from
The app mainly covers Korean, Japanese, Spanish and French, and people regularly leave disappointed at the absence of Chinese, Norwegian, Thai, German or Arabic — demand for new languages clearly outpaces supply.
wanted to learn norwegian and chinese but the app only got korean japanese spanish and french
I would appreciate it greatly if you could add the Thai language
I just wish they can add German language,I'd be so happy learning it through this app too
Crashes, freezes and a phantom streak
On top of everything — instability: the app freezes the phone mid-lesson, crashes, stops opening, won't load videos, and a revived streak shows 'successful' yet still dies — striking at the main reason to keep coming back.
it's always making my phone freeze while doing the lessons, but other than that, it's good at teaching how to speak other languages!!
when I revive my streak, it shows successful but my streak doesn't revive, it dies.
i'm stuck on day 3 and i can't watch it because it won't open.
Drills two phrases at once, no reinforcement
The lesson structure is questionable: the app introduces two new phrases at once without locking in the first, and grammar is buried inside long lessons with no separate review — for people with weaker memory it's hard to retain.
this app is bad for people with short term memory issues because it teaches 2 different phrases at once they should drill one phrase in before moving to the second phrase
I think it should have more options allowing for repetive reinforcement, especially with the grammar rules as I don't really want to go through an entire lesson just for the rule.
the timer goes too fast for trying to work around the lack of voice recognition.
