What users hate
An update replaced lists with a map — and it infuriates people
After the latest update users get only a map with rating numbers and no descriptions instead of a list of restaurants or hotels. People are openly begging for the list back and calling the app useless.
I want to review a list of restaurants nearby and all I can see now is the map.
Instead of lists with detailed information, I get a map with numbers like 4.5 wit no descriptions. This is useless.

The suspicion that reviews are filtered and bought
Users notice their low ratings get rejected without explanation and conclude that the visible reviews may be skewed toward whoever pays. It strikes at the app's very foundation.
Most of the reviews we see in the tripadvisor review are fake. I did give a low star, but it got rejected. When money buys this app, it is no longer reliable to use this apps.

Navigation is confusing, you keep going back and forth
Even loyal users complain: the interface is overloaded and too prescriptive, you cannot search your own way, and a simple task like getting a list of restaurants becomes a struggle.

Intrusive 'Ask AI', ads and upsells
Before letting you leave a review or just look something up, the app buries you in quizzes, ads and offers. The 'Ask AI' that is on by default cannot be turned off.
"Ask AI" by default is damn annoying and cannot be disabled by any means.
Too many offers or quizzes before you can get to do your review.
I am not interested in advertisements. So.PLEASE STOP THE ADS!
Prices jump, hidden mark-ups at booking
The advertised price shoots up when you check availability, discounts turn out not to apply, and you only learn about military and other deals after a non-refundable booking.
28.44 per adult. Check availability, and it jumps 67.54 per adult. NO! Downloaded and deleted right away.
Dumb app keeps telling me I have $30 off when it's on applicable in the US
very disheartening to learn that there are discounts after you book non-refundable in the app
Bugs: trips won't load, random password resets, sluggish
For some users saved trips stop loading, the app keeps sending password-reset emails and logging them out on its own, and pages load slowly after the update.
My trips no longer loads. No way to reach out for them to fix bug in the app. Used to be great.
The app randomly keeps telling me about a password reset email (???). Be aware this app has some odd issues at the moment
After the update, it's loading so slow. need to go back and click again to load the page please fix it.
Forced location access and a US-phone lock-in
Opening the map demands precise location, while rewards and activation hinge on a US phone number — for users elsewhere this is both annoying and a blocker.
There's no valid reason that I should have to give my precise location information to look at a map.

The only reason I gave this score is because it asked for my US phone number. The fact I live in Australia indicates the organization has no idea about my location
Stale data: old ratings, closed places
A hotel's rating can stay high on reviews that are years old while reality has long since changed; searches surface out-of-date and already-closed listings.
Reviews can be several years old establishing a high rating only to plummet over time
Searches sometimes include out of date listings.
I wish it didn't feel limited to only the most popular places and sometimes places or closures are not updated.
