Strengths

What users love

"Free" is the whole product people forgive everything for

The core reason people love Tubi is genuinely free access to a big library with no subscription and nothing to pay. Reviewers explicitly contrast it with paid services and say they'll tolerate ads at that price.

Free TV movies and shows no subscription needed no money down no money later it ain't like the other ones this one's free

Other apps cost 10-20 per month and still make you watch ads, and Tubi is still free. Corporate greed at its finest.

netflix who? and its completely free! Just canceled my netflix sub cause this blows them out of the water!

A huge, eclectic library — from classics to niche oddities

The breadth and variety of the catalog wins people over: thousands of movies and shows, nostalgic cartoons, documentaries, true crime, old and new films. They often find titles missing from paid services.

Tubi has movies I can't find anywhere else. All my favorites! I love this app😁

Excellent selection of nostalgic cartoons and new titles every month

I love this app. they have so many true crime documentaries

No account, no hassle — a simple way into watching

Many value that Tubi needs no account or email: open it and watch. People call the interface clear and easy to use, with simple navigation on both phone and PC.

I especially like that you don't have to have an account to access Tubi.

I love it cause it is free with out having a E-mail address

really easy to figure out. huge selection, it's awesome

Comfort and company: watched on the road to unwind and escape

For some, Tubi is an emotional refuge: it helps them unwind after a long day, pass time while traveling, and for truckers eases anxiety and loneliness, while nostalgic shows bring back childhood.

truck driver like myself a entertaining different movies enjoying a 10-hour reset it helps with the anxiety and loneliness is great for us to relax and enjoy a movie once in a while

and after a long day I love to wind down with a good movie. Tubi never disappoints me.

I like that I can watch TV on my phone while I'm traveling and away from home.

Weak spots

What users hate

Ads wreck the pacing: 3 minutes of film, then a block of 5-7 spots

The single most common pain is ad frequency and length. People describe breaks every few minutes lasting 2-4 minutes, up to 6-7 spots in a row; a 90-minute film stretches to 3 hours, and some uninstall before finishing even one movie.

Way too many ads. After watching 10-12 minutes of movie they feed you 2-4 minutes of ads. I've seen as many as 7 commercials during 1 break.

you watch 3 minutes of a movie and then there are 6 ads

ads every 3 minutes is ridiculous. a 90 minute movie takes 3 hours to watch

Loses your progress: "continue watching" vanishes or rewinds to the start

A painful regression: after an update the app rewinds episodes to the start after ads, drops the "continue watching" list, or demands a sign-in to keep your place. People have to hunt for where they left off every time.

now lately when I try to unwind and watch my shows it rewinds back to the beginning of every episode

every single time I go back on Tubi, everything on my continue watching disappears. It doesn't save

I have to sign in the keep watching where I left off Tubi please letlet me even that I didn'tsigni n

Won't load, crashes, green/purple screen after updates

Technical failures are a recurring complaint: crashes on launch, endless 15-30 minute loading, a green screen mid-movie, a blank purple screen. Clearing cache and reinstalling often don't help, and people tie the problems to recent updates.

in the middle of watching movies the screen turns green

Used to work well, worthy of 4 stars, but now it crashes all the time when I try to open it. Lame.

it has been loading (if it loads at all) very slow on my devices for weeks now. it literally took about 15-30 mins to load

The World Cup hook drew people in, but "free" turned out misleading

The free World Cup 2026 promo triggered a wave of letdown: matches won't play, the feed shows stands and buses instead of the game, you can't watch on a TV, and some feel tricked into creating an account.

you say the world cup is free but it's not so I uninstall it very disappointed

Tricked into setting up an account thinking they will play FIFA World Cup games...

you can watch the world cup but it won't show the game and only the fans and coach

The ads aren't just frequent — they're harmful: gambling and adult content

A separate, sharp grievance is what the ads contain: gambling and betting blocks (especially in Australia), sexual content, and Spanish-language spots on the English app. People call it harmful and a reason to uninstall.

now the ads are mostly betting ads, so I'll be uninstalling. Betting ads may make tubi a lot of money in Australia, but they're also immoral

90% of the ads are either gambling or sex related. DO NOT WATCH IF YOUR ADDICTED TO GAMBLING.

WHY the hell am I listening to Spanish commercials on an English version of the Application?

The algorithm forces choices: no search, repeats, and the removed thumbs-down

People resent the system deciding for them: search disappears and results feel random, the home page is clogged with auto-playing previews, the same show loops endlessly, and the removed thumbs-down strips their ability to filter out unwanted picks.

There is no search. It's totally random results.

I hate that thumbs down has been removed on most of the videos. You assume I'm going to like your suggestions.

now there's WAY too much stuff on the home page. By that I mean all the big videos that are just already playing and getting in the way of scrolling

Quality suffers: audio desync, truncated descriptions, missing captions

Small but persistent playback flaws grate: audio drifts out of sync and only a restart fixes it, movie descriptions are truncated with no way to expand them, captions aren't everywhere, and picture quality drops while ads run in high resolution.

the sound quickly gets WAY out of sync and the only way to get it to sync back up is to back out of the video

truncating descriptions and not providing any way to expand them is extremely unhelpful

you will notice the quality of what you're watching suffers while the adds are in ultra high quality

Content rotates and ages: favorites vanish, people crave fresh titles

Some are frustrated that movies and shows get pulled from the catalog, and that it skews toward old "already on TV" titles. Yet improvements are noticed too — newer releases like Godzilla x Kong are flagged as a step forward.

my only issue is when they remove movies or tv shows that I wanna watch thats why I give the app a 4 out of 5 starts

they will not bring no new movie, all the movie are old and come over the tv

finally tubi is getting better movies and series, it be nice to see new godzilla and spider-man movies tubi is at least getting better movies and series
