Uber reviews

What users love and hate, from real reviews

A global ride-hailing and delivery service whose defining tension is that the price and pickup time promised at booking almost never match what actually happens.

What users love

When it works, drivers are kind and cars are clean

The best reviews are about specific drivers — polite, on time, helpful with bags, clean cars, safe driving. One even returned a phone left behind.

My driver was professional and helpful with my groceries. clean car. mellow music. fresh air. 5 stars

polite, very good safe driver, the car was extremely clean. thank you

accidentally left my phone. he brought it back. best driver ever!!!

A travel lifeline that helps you feel safe

Loyal users value that Uber comes through in unfamiliar cities and abroad: you can see the driver beforehand and even track a delivery from another country, which feels safe — especially for older riders and people with disabilities.

Uber has been very helpful when traveling as well as locally. I like being able to know my driver before they arrive, it makes me feel safe.

At 73yo I appreciate the professionalism and compassion exhibited by Ann Arbor drivers. Thank you Thank you!

O app atende bem sempre que necessito, precisei pedir uma entrega no Brasil, estando na Espanha e pude acompanhar todo o trajeto online. Isso é excelente.

Weak spots

What users hate

The price you book at is not the price you pay

The app shows one amount at booking, then the final fare climbs at drop-off with no route change or extra stops. Users call it misleading and outright fraud.

the price show something when booked and increases by 60 rupees. They are scaming people.

When I booked the ride, the app showed me a specific price, and I agreed to pay that amount. But after reaching my destination, the final price went up. I did not change the route, and I did not make any extra stops.

First it showed ₹538. I got a call, then when I tried booking a cab again it became ₹580, then ₹611. This is how online cabs play games. It’s fraud with the public.

Drivers demand cash on top of the in-app fare

A recurring complaint, especially in India: the driver drops you off and demands cash, often double the in-app amount, then argues or fights, and there's no one to complain to.

when I booked the cab it showed 35 rupees only for 500 m distance when the driver dropped us at our location he demanded rs 70 for it which is equal to double of the amount that was shown.

Driver asked me to pay on basis of meter which cost me 214 rupees. My actual ride cost was 141 and I had to pay way more than that.

There has been a repeated issue of extra cash being demanded from the original price, and this has happened 2 times, and when I refuse to pay the extra amount they literally start fighting

Drivers cancel at the last second, and the rider pays for it

A driver accepts, sometimes calls to ask the location, then cancels seconds later; the rules aren't symmetric — riders get charged for cancelling while drivers face nothing.

Almost every time I book a ride, it gets accepted and then cancelled within 30 seconds. It takes me 20–30 minutes just to get one confirmed ride

Biggest Thugs, no convenience to customer. Driver can cancel anytime, passenger has to suffer. If passenger is canceling passenger has to pay.

ride booking confirmed "driver cancel ride after asking location over call"

Long waits to match a driver, or no driver at all

Matching drags on for tens of minutes, especially when you're in a rush or it's raining; people wait an hour, abandon the trip, and end up late for work.

Worst experience Waited 1 hour, tried ac and non ac both, still could not get a cab.

Take way too long time to accept the ride and after Waiting they suddenly cancels the ride. I was getting late for job. It took 46 minutes to get the ride.

Uber is quite slow finding drivers this days , it takes forever. I had to cancel many trips now cause it can't find drivers and I use a different app!!

Discounted rides nobody will accept

When the app offers a promo discount, drivers see the low fare and won't accept; coupons and deals turn into endless waiting in practice.

even the promotional discounts given are too useless bcoz no rider accepts that waste of time and energy using this app

they were giving discounts, rates were so less. and because the rates were so low no riders were accepting like seriously bro.

And please when they are discounts don't allow drivers to see the discounts cause they won't accept

The app lies about pickup time

It says 8 minutes, then jumps to 15+ once you select the ride; people use these estimates to time when to leave, and the lie even gets them charged for being "late".

I order an Uber and it says 8 min but when I select the ride it says driver will arrive in 15min+ this is such a bad experience. Be consistent with your times of arrival.

Timing it way off. 13 mins pick turned into 30mins.

app always lies about pick up time, often to charge you for canceling when time is double what they claim.

Customer support is impossible to reach

Tickets don't work, only a bot replies, there's no phone line; after a wrong charge or a lost item, users are left alone with an app designed to keep them away from a real agent.

The app is designed to make it near impossible to speak to customer service agent and I can't get my issue resolved.

zero customer support just ai ai ai...worst service ever

service ticket for support DOES NOT WORK and is for looks.

Uber One and charges you never signed up for

Users get enrolled in Uber One without consent, keep getting billed for months after cancelling with no refund, and some see random charges years later.

It signed me up for uber one without ever being asked. I only found out when I checked my credit card statement. Complete scam, will not use uber again.

Uber has been charging me for uber one on my credit card since January 2026 even though i canceled it long ago. I need my money back.

I've downloaded the app not being aware that they signed me up on Uber one member ship that I didn't sign up for I canceled my membership but it's won't refund my money back

Booking ahead doesn't help — you get ditched at the last minute

Pre-booking an hour or even a day ahead guarantees nothing: no driver is found and people get dropped at the last minute before flights, trains, and critical connections.

Pre-booked a ride over 24 hours in advance from downtown Stockholm, only to find out that the app did not find any driver, despite alleged guarantee.

Never reserve in advance with uber they will ditch you at last moment and ask for extra money as you will be missing flight

And it's always letting you down at the very last minute. Even if you book 1 hour ahead.

Forced reviews and tips before you can book

The app blocks a new booking until you rate the last driver or leave a tip; it frustrates busy people who then click through random ratings just to get a ride.

Stop forcing to wirte reviews or give tips not allowig to book a ride until I wirte or tips. So people are busy

once completed ride asking for compulsory rating it's so irritating

It forced me to give a review for the driver. In a hurry, I was not able to postpone the review and just clicked through it to book the ride quicker.

Wildly inconsistent pricing for the same route

The same route at the same time swings from 9 to 22 dollars; surge and fuel surcharges make the cost unpredictable, pushing people back to their own cars.

Horribly inconsistent pricing. That, by far, is my biggest gripe with Uber. Same route, from home to work, same departure time...price can fluctuate from 9 bucks to 22. That is insane!!

Uber started new option pay extra to get a faster ride, this causing consumers ride confirmation delay

bit annoying with fuel surharge driving past servos at $1.70 litre
