Uber Eats reviews
What users love and hate, from real reviews
A restaurant and grocery delivery app: convenient door-to-door ordering in a tap, undercut by rising fees, cold food, and support reduced to a chatbot that won't issue refunds.
What users love
When it works, it's a lifesaver for those who can't get out
A share of users genuinely love it for convenience: food to the door in a tap, a lifesaver when sick, after surgery, or without a car, a wide restaurant selection, and fast, tidy delivery.
had surgery and can't drive. Uber eats is a life saver!
I love the ease of having food delivered. I've never had a bad experience. I love Uber Eats.
Door to door is a lot easier than having to dress up, gas up and go out
Beats DoorDash on price and ties in with Uber rides
Those who stay value cheaper prices and deals than DoorDash, like the good promos at certain restaurants, and appreciate being bundled with Uber rides in one app.
way way better than doordash. also nice to be combined with uber rides.
this app has cheaper prices than door dash
better then door dash do you pay more yes but you deal with better people then DD
What users hate
Support is a bot that closes your case with no resolution
There's no human or phone line: the AI chatbot loops you through multiple-choice options, and when you do reach an agent they cut the chat off without warning and formally close the case with nothing resolved.
the "AI chatbot" does not allow the user to actually speak, instead there are multiple choice options that lead in circles
you raise issues with customer service and the AI chat bot just closes your case
how is there no phone number to talk to a real person?
Refunds refused for items never received, even with photo proof
When an order arrives incomplete or not at all, the app declares you "ineligible for a refund" — even with photos and the restaurant confirming the item was never handed over.
even with proof from the restaurant that I did not receive the item
I received the wrong order and despite i showed photo proof I wasn't eligible for a refund
Item not delivered and saying refund ineligible!
Token partial refunds — $3-5 back on a $30-40 order
Even when a refund is granted it's a token amount: a couple of dollars of Uber Cash credit for a fully ruined or missing order — and that's often quietly clawed back later.
Here is a $5 credit for the "$40" it cost to order. Scam ring at it's finest.
wrong orders 90% of the time and offered 2-dollar refunds.
ice cold burgers and warm ice cream.... $8 refund on a $31 order
Hidden fees double the bill at checkout
The advertised "free delivery" vanishes at payment: service plus delivery fees turn a $20 pizza into $50, and the fees sometimes eat half the order total.
Prices for delivery are abusive. (A $20 pizza costs $50 delivered.)
it says in the app free delivery and no service charge till you go and checkout and your order goes from $40 to $60.
lowering my review score because I paid almost half my subtotal in fees
Stacked orders turn a 10-minute delivery into an hour of cold food
Drivers get several orders at once, so food from a 10-minute restaurant takes an hour, going cold in someone else's car; the app blames "traffic" and won't let you cap the stacking.
IT'S DELIVERY DRIVERS PICKING UP 3 ITEMS FROM DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. They have to wait for another customers food and leave my food being cold in there car
Food arrives cold unless your restaurant is 3 blocks away.
Uber had driver stop at Walmart on the way to deliver. Now my food is cold and my drink is warm
You pay for "priority" but the driver still delivers others first
Paid priority delivery doesn't deliver: customers watch their courier drop off other orders, the promised 10 minutes stretch to an hour, and support denies the driver did anything else.
I paid for Priority Service and watched the driver go deliver at least one other order.
I also am advertised 10 minute delivery with priority delivery. They take an hour.
Do Not pay for priority..... its a waste of money
Cancelling seconds after ordering still costs full price
Spot a wrong-restaurant order and you can't cancel free: they charge the full food price (sometimes keeping the tip) even for a cancellation within seconds, before anything was cooked.
I cancelled a pizza within seconds of ordering it and I was charged for the cancellation.
Charges you full price of the order even when cancelled within 10 seconds of ordering.
Uber will charge you a cancelation fee to cancel an order even if food has not been prepared
Orders silently cancelled after an hour — then you must re-order
After payment the delivery time keeps sliding, then an hour or more later the order is cancelled with no notice, leaving you hungry, re-ordering, and waiting all over again.
one hour and fifteen minutes later got an email that they canceled order
After about 90 mins, they canceled and didn't even notify me.
you canceled my order after an hour and now making me reorder
Dark patterns trap you into an Uber One subscription you can't cancel
The Uber One ad pops up right over the "pay" button, so you subscribe by accident in a hurry; charges keep coming after you opt out, and cancellation loops back to a "pick a reason" page.
an Uber One ad popped up in the same spot the pay now for my order was. So I was charged $9.99 for Uber One
I opted out of the membership, yet I continue to be charged membership fees.
I can't even cancel the membership because when I finish cancelling it it goes back to the page asking for the reason why I'm canceling it.
Phantom charges with no order behind them
Users get charged months later with no order, ride, or tip behind it; the app forces you to save a card, then pulls money in small amounts, and the bank refunds it before Uber does.
the app kept attempting to pull money from my account, small amounts at a time. I wasn't making any payments but kept getting money pulled from my account
they charged me randomly for something. I haven't used them in over 6 months !
*phantom charges" not only has Uber multiple times on seperate phones with different apps charges me for stuff I never subscribed for
Orders go to the wrong place — wrong address or a far-off restaurant
The app repeatedly delivers to the wrong address or reroutes your order to a restaurant 18 miles away instead of the 12-minute one nearby, and there's no real way to fix your saved address.
I placed my order at a restaurant close to my house, but Uber Eats redirected my order to a restaurant 18 miles away.
the app just suggested a store 30 minutes away when I've been ordering from one that's 12 minutes away
There's absolutely no way to correct my address in this app.
Promo codes and BOGO deals don't apply at checkout
Advertised discounts and buy-one-get-one deals vanish or fail to apply at payment, charging full price — and BOGO offers sometimes double-charge you instead.
the buy one get one promotion was never applied and I was charged the full price
the promo codes don't apply correctly
Everytime you order any buy one get one they double charge you, then when you complain they give you SOME of your money back.
The app lags, drains the battery, and often won't take payment
Even on flagships the app lags, heats the phone, and drains the battery, while at payment it declines every card despite funds in the account — losing the customer before the first order.
it just eats right through your battery and heats up your phone like crazy. it's also very slow.
The app is so bad it won't even let me put in my payment details...tried 3 of my cards and 2 of the cards my friends had and nothing
attrocious performance even on flagship smartphones. dark patterns, overall a terrible application
Cluttered UI, painful restaurant search, no tipping after delivery
The interface is too busy and buried in popups, finding the restaurant you want is hard, the Offers tab disappeared, and you can't adjust the tip after delivery the way you can with Uber rides.
UI is too busy. Could benefit from better layout. We should be able to tip after delivery
they make it nearly impossible to find a restaurant I want
The Offers tab disappeared and I don't have time to scroll through every. single. store to find a deal.
