I love to drag and drop from the sidebar to set the deadline and visualize the list. love pulling down for longer duration and checking off in either the list view or calendar. Mobile notifications are gentle which is fine but I sometimes need alarms with snoozing for the time sensitive tasks. Maybe Macrodroid can do that for ones I include keyword "now"?

And it won't let you drag to order the tasks when sorted by date, even for all the items where you never entered a date. i prefer using software that the management also uses, since it works better. And the departure l delayed notifications sucks

I thought maybe I could use this to bulk delete cruft that Keep shoved into Tasks, but there isn't even a search or a place to view completed tasks. App is more barebones than I expected. Not really any advantage over accessing tasks via Google Calendar, IMO.

What users hate
No search bar for tasks
With a long task list, finding anything is nearly impossible — there's no search, even though the desktop version has one

Really excellent app. One suggestion is there. If I create repeat task (e.g. repeat on 1st of every month), it shows task in the list at time of creation (e.g. showing on 1st of January). When I mark it as complete, app is not creating repeat task. Repeat task is visible directly on next execution day (i.e. in this case, visible only on 1st February). Repeat task is not visible in between in Tasks
for asking too many times
Notifications are too easy to swipe away, no persistent mode
Reminders get lost in the notification stream and can be dismissed with one swipe — there's no mode that keeps an alert on screen until the task is done

Future recurrences are invisible until the due date
Recurring tasks only appear on the day they're due — they're absent from the list in between, making forward planning impossible

It's simple enough to start quickly, but also good enough to manage all my tasks.

Recurring tasks are buggy
Checking off a repeat can fail to create the next one, skip ahead by a year instead of a month, and editing one copy doesn't carry over to future instances — users end up deleting and recreating from scratch

The new round icon gets confused with the clock app
The updated icon is nearly indistinguishable from the clock app, Bixby, or a messaging app — the shape and color annoy many users, and some find it genuinely hard to look at
Yet another half finished app from Google that won't stand a chance against competitors outside Google's infrastructure. Missing most of the functionality a decent task manager would have nowadays. But wow, Google has changed (again) the style of the icon. Here, have a ⭐ Google! Perhaps if this app would be designed properly you wouldn't need Gemini to tell what's on your agenda. 🙃

it was better when it was just notes, now the notifications are off and it is not as reliable as notes
Users want the transparent widget and color customization back
The widget used to support transparency so the wallpaper showed through; that's gone now, and the new grey look with no color options is widely disliked
Why is it not possible anymore to have the widget transparent? It looks horrible now!!

The only thing I do not like about this app is that I cannot make the widget transparent.
Widget can't be sorted and only shows today's tasks
The widget has no date sorting and won't scroll past today's tasks — you have to open the app for everything else, and it's been this way for years
why did you mess with the widget? it used to be that you scroll all the way till you get to the desired tasks. Now, it has a show all at the end. Why? why would you do that? why do I have to go to the app itself to see the rest of the tasks? it just doesn't make sense.

The 'Complete' button sits right next to Save — tasks get closed by accident
The completion checkbox is placed next to the save/back button, so trying to edit a task often marks it done by mistake

No priority field or importance sorting
There's no way to flag importance or sort by it — in a long unstructured list, picking out what matters most for daily planning is a real struggle
can be usable if Google added natural language dates and priorities, like Todoist has for years. with the Google integrations it would make it a great app, but it's not at the moment,. changing icons doesn't make the app more useful

No shared list access — the app doesn't work for households, roommates, or work teams, and those users consistently go elsewhere

I really like how this app helps organize tasks and syncs with our online account. I arrange my tasks by priority so it would be great if there was a priority code field and the app would allow you to sort the tasks by that code.
Can't attach photos to a task
After Reminders were migrated from Google Keep, image support disappeared — it's text only now, and many users miss the ability to add a picture

Location-based reminders were removed
Place-triggered tasks ('remind me when I leave') are gone — Samsung and Keep both had this, and it's exactly what many users are missing
I don't understand why you would get rid of location based tasks and only keep that functionality on Google Keep. Using "hey google" for location tasks was extremely useful. Update: now you've got rid of it from Google keep, still don't get it.

The new icon literally gives me a headache when I look at it. My eyes can't focus on it because it's just barely not a circle.
Too bare-bones for serious task management
Many users find it too basic: no smart features, no completion history, no task duplication, minimal settings — and it largely duplicates what Calendar already does, giving the impression of an abandoned project

Can't set a due date at creation, no duration field
Due dates can only be added during editing or via Calendar, and there's no way to set how long a task takes — a three-hour task looks identical to a thirty-minute one in your schedule

The default list can't be deleted or cleared
The default list can't be removed or wiped even after reinstalling — cruft migrated from Keep has nowhere to go, and there's no bulk-delete for completed tasks

No dark theme choice and no true black for AMOLED
No toggle between light and dark themes, and no pure black background for AMOLED screens; the new widget looks especially bad in dark mode

Can't customize notification sound, and alerts duplicate
Notification tones can't be changed, and reminders sometimes fire twice or arrive in rapid-fire bursts on smartwatches seconds apart
