A free list and task manager from Microsoft with tight integration across its ecosystem — built for users who juggle multiple to-do lists and live in the Microsoft world.
What users love
Tasks appear instantly on phone and desktop
Seamless cross-device, cross-platform sync is the most praised feature by far
Great app! syncs phone and laptop.
Syncs great between multiple devices
needs calendar sync, hard to visualize tasks
Clean interface with zero ads or clutter
A minimalist, ad-free layout earns consistent praise as ideal for list-making — nothing in the way
Before microsoft purchased this app few years ago, it was simple, easy to use and very responsive. Unfortunately, it has become less intuitive and irritating to use. Too often, it just freezes or does not show my edits in a timely manner. I still use it occasionally, but its no longer my go-to app for preparing lists and reminders.
Simple safe no clutter best app and it is free with Microsoft windows integration
This best todo list I ever have. Simple, clean and very easy to navigate. I wish a scheduled task have hide toggle button. The task will be remove from scheduled or my day view. In case I missed it. So I can tracked my unproductive day.
Free and deeply integrated with Outlook, Windows, and Microsoft services
The app is completely free and tightly woven into the Microsoft ecosystem — a major draw for Outlook and Windows users
Doesn't integrate with Outlook on Android. Duh.
After years of waiting and hoping that Microsoft would seamlessly integrate Tasks into the Calendar app, I've finally given up. To make matters worse, the Outlook 'all-in-one' windows app has become incredibly buggy—even just opening the calendar is painfully slow. I finally decided to switch to Google Tasks and google products, and the experience is night and day. All of my tasks now integrate pe
It's exactly what i need bisides i do everything form the home screen through the winget wich is super easier, and tasks are synced between accounts, and the best of all, FREE!!! so it's Literally the best and only app i will even need it, but don't break it! Microsoft is famous for breaking good software 😂 just don't touch the ui and definitely don't add a dam ai we don't need one here 🤣.
Shared lists for family and team grocery or group tasks
Sharing a list with family or colleagues is valued for shopping and collaborative work
The widget always crashes on homescren, it's a shared list looks like it is always trying to refresh. then after opening app or re-adding the widget works normally for a while and then same again.
Keeps me organized. Love to share my list with my family.
Great way to share to do lists with others.
A lifeline for ADHD and forgetfulness — offloads mental clutter
Reduces cognitive load and stress; supports users with ADHD and poor working memory — many describe it as a mental-health aid
it's too good it can increase your productivity 10x and it's really helpful for students
super productive
I looooove it sooo much as an organized person, this's sooo helpful and easy ❤️
Structures the day and fights procrastination
Helps users follow through on time, stick to plans, and beat procrastination — especially praised by students and busy professionals
I'm am so happy that I downloaded this app. as a high school student, I lost track of the work assigned, but this app helped me organize and remember all of them through reminder that u can custumize and set it.
Keeps me organized. Love to share my list with my family.
This is a great organizational tool. It allows for great flexibility in your set up
Great for permanent lists: shopping, recipes, random reference
Works well beyond task management — shopping, recipes, gift ideas, filter model numbers — with notes and links attached
I love this app. And not just for to dos. I keep a list of my various appliances and the #s of their replacement filters & bulbs. And gift ideas. And bill dates. Better thsn a spreadsheet because I can include links & notes.
The best To-do list app I've ever used! I used to write everything down and make physical lists daily; my desk was always littered with half-completed lists - now I do it all in this app that I can access on my phone or my computer - anytime, anywhere. I love that I can have sub categories for my goals, and share lists with others. I use this for everything from grocery lists to career goals. It's
I just wanted to make To Do lists and shopping lists and this was more hassle than it's worth for just making lists.
Steps and nested lists for breaking tasks down
The ability to split a task into steps and nest lists is praised for flexibility and reduced overload
I just recently downloaded this app but I already know I'm going to love it and use it all the time. I have so many "To do" lists it was impossible to keep them together. This let's me have To do list inside my To do list and not be overwhelmed. And it let's me pick out which task I will work on for the day. I could go on but it's too much. Get it and try it for yourself.
Works well. I wish there was a way to directly add a subtask via shortcut or through Google assistant. Also can you give better descriptions of what has changed in an update? I am not a fan of the secrecy.
it's an ok app for simple tasks. I wish you could have more steps that you can add on your own and pictures within the app. , also ,next to each task, note, or list item, it would be nice to have an expand button so that you could just look at the the different steps within the one task. o find it too rigid.
Custom themes and backgrounds reset; font choice wanted
Custom backgrounds and list themes are appreciated and make the app more enjoyable
it's a great app just maybe give suggestion to change the font and colors f font as well as putting a search option so that if someone has a specific option they want to search up the can easily find it especially if the person tends to have long lists
please allow shrinking line spacing optionally
The widget is too big, and the background is gray, not black. Edited: Nearly one year and still not fixed.
What users hate
Home screen widget stuck in an endless loading loop
Since recent updates the widget constantly flickers, reloads, and fails to display tasks — taps do nothing; the only fix is removing and re-adding it
The widget is constantly broken, glitching, flashing and flickering, in one way or another... for years now! Across multiple phones (and reinstalls, launchers, Android versions), always the same issue with this app's widget; others complain about it online too! No other widget has issues, only this one from the biggest, richest corporation. I finally give up and will move to another tasks service!
it's been messing up. the widget constantly flickers and you can't even use it while it's doing it
I love the app, but constant flicker/ refresh of the widget on my samsung phone makes it unusable. Tried all the suggestions I could find o line to fix it without success 😞.
Keyboard covers text in long notes and scrolling breaks
When a note grows long, the on-screen keyboard blocks the bottom portion and scrolling down is impossible — you can't see or edit what you're typing
Unusable on mobile as you cannot scroll the text in a task past a certain point! Microsoft customer support's solution? "use the desktop app , instead" , hopeless. microslop does it yet again
I am experiencing a persistent UI issue in the Microsoft To Do Android app. When I open a task and start typing or editing a long note, the text area does not scroll correctly. Once the text reaches the bottom of the screen, the interface gets "stuck," and I cannot scroll down to see or edit the rest of the text. I have checked for updates, but the issue persists. Could you please investigate this
since update can't scroll down in notes. others reported this issue. please fix asap.
Nags you to enable reminders on every single launch
The app pushes a reminder opt-in prompt every time it opens and offers no permanent "never" option — even for users who deliberately turned reminders off
It keeps begging for allowing reminders
Stop telling me notifications/reminders are turned off.
Nice app, but: - absence to see Outlook categories - absence of WearOS app, offered by any big app in this category - no custom list theme sync with the desktop app After implementing those features I will be able to say that this app is the best task manager app for individuals
No calendar view and no way to push tasks into Outlook Calendar
Users want a timeline view of tasks and deadlines with automatic sync to their calendar — no calendar integration exists today
needs calendar sync, hard to visualize tasks
After years of waiting and hoping that Microsoft would seamlessly integrate Tasks into the Calendar app, I've finally given up. To make matters worse, the Outlook 'all-in-one' windows app has become incredibly buggy—even just opening the calendar is painfully slow. I finally decided to switch to Google Tasks and google products, and the experience is night and day. All of my tasks now integrate pe
task don't show in calendar can't assign task to colleague most useless task app ever
Data loss is too easy: no trash, tasks complete with one tap
A task can be accidentally completed (especially via widget) or a note wiped with no way to recover — users want a recycle bin, recently deleted, note locking, and the removal of swipe-to-delete
a 'recently deleted' features would help a LOT!
setup and recovery needed
The home screen widgets are great, you can set up separate widgets for each list. However, tasks often accidentally get marked "completed" due to the available option there. Can we somehow disable that option under settings? Big fan of all MS services, Cheers!
No way to bulk-delete all completed tasks
Completed tasks pile up and must be cleared one by one — users want a "delete all completed" button like competitors offer
Google tasks is the only app I've seen to actually implement an easy "Delete completed" feature. Every todo app this one included wants to keep every task around forever. edit: came to add a review saying this and found out myself from 4 years ago has me covered. thanks, me
Edit: 5 months later still not fixed, will delete the app as it is not usable for me. Latest update broke my widgets: My tasks displayed by widgets now constantly flicker and can't be read, completed, or anything. Please fix the bug, there were no issues before.
I love the app, 2 things though. one is there should be a option to chose to delete tasks once completed. second my widget keeps glitching and does not work
No search across lists and tasks
Finding anything across dozens of lists is painful — users want a search bar, especially for long inventories
it's a great app just maybe give suggestion to change the font and colors f font as well as putting a search option so that if someone has a specific option they want to search up the can easily find it especially if the person tends to have long lists
I have a lot of reminders in this app. A search function will be a very good addition.
works as expected. no search feature on the lists.. which would have been nice
Categories and tags from the web version were removed from the app
Task grouping by category that existed in the web version was stripped from the mobile app — users want tags, categories, and priorities restored
Very convenient. Is there an option for tagging others for a reminder via email or whatsapp?
Nice app, but: - absence to see Outlook categories - absence of WearOS app, offered by any big app in this category - no custom list theme sync with the desktop app After implementing those features I will be able to say that this app is the best task manager app for individuals
Still no support for categories
Recurrence, due dates, and time zones fire inaccurately
Weekday recurrence wipes the due date, "next Monday" sometimes lands in the past, daylight saving time shifts reminders by an hour, and traveling abroad leaves them stuck in the old time zone
Feedback: "Repeat on Weekdays" should respect the due date Currently, setting a task to repeat on weekdays completely removes the due date. The correct logic should be: Repeat on weekdays UNTIL the due date is reached. Please fix this so the due date acts as the final deadline/end date.
Does not repeat tasks properly, it also does not honour a daylight savings change so a task set to repeat every day at 08:00 am either fails or starts repeating at 09:00 or 07:00 am, then eventually just stopping notifications entirely until re-created.
App doesn't know what day it is. Recently, if I set a new task and choose due date of "Next week (Monday)", it allocates a due date of LAST Monday.
Snooze options and persistent notifications are unreliable
Snooze choices disappear or break, alerts are easy to swipe away accidentally — users want pinned reminders and a full-screen alarm
Could you please investigate this
Improvements badly needed include adding the option to make notifications persistent, as it's FAR too easy to accidentally swipe them all away at once or to make them all disappear by accidentally opening the app from the notifications. Otherwise, a good replacement for Google Tasks which for some reason refuses to include a search feature. To Do has search, great organization features including m
This application has proven quite beneficial for my daily tasks; however, I have observed a persistent flickering issue with the widget. I previously brought this to your attention, but I have yet to receive a response regarding a solution. Could you kindly address this matter?
Widget is too rigid: only "My Day," no times, no filters
Previously supported multiple lists; now locked to "My Day" only, with no reminder times, no filter support, and no transparency control
Recently after the update, the app widget on the home screen has become unresponsive and keeps loading all the time.
To Do widget for home screen has been very buggy for months. It is constantly flashing and reloading and is unusable at times.
Buggy - the sync between the phone app and computer app is delayed at best. The android phone widget loses sync and has to be reinstalled daily; trying to fix this issue reinstalling the phone app - now NOTHING is syncing. This has been my go-to "To Do" list app for years, but Microsoft: you broke Wunderlist. May 2026: It's getting worse - you understand that's a bad thing, right, Microsoft?
Layout bugs: grey widget, blank status bar, buttons hidden under system UI
The widget is oversized and grey instead of black, a blank bar at the top pushes the interface down, and the "More" button at the bottom lands under the system Home button and is unreachable
Still broken after 30MAY2026 update. The 'More' button at the bottom is under the Google Home button and cannot be accessed.
I've been using this app for over 5 years now. there were problems at the beginning, but they got fixed. I'd give it 5 star, but the 'more' button at the button of the screen when in 'suggestions' mode is directly over my home button, so it is useless.
Missing Wunderlist: "Microsoft broke a good product"
Long-time users feel the app became less functional and buggier after Microsoft acquired Wunderlist — a recurring complaint about regression
Do not bother! It used to work perfectly but now the homescreen widget doesn't load the list, doesn't update, and since last week is now completely broken - you can't even change list or open the app by interacting with it no interaction even registers. A shame to see Microsoft destroy another good product, what happened to if it ain't broke don't fix it? I'll be looking for a new to do app that I
Please repair the widget. it often shows flickering "You are all done". This only happened in the last 3 months. I've been using the application long before it was bought by Microsoft and became Ms To Do.
No quick way to move tasks between lists or reorder the lists themselves
Missing: swipe-to-move a task to another list, sort lists alphabetically, and manage dozens of lists without friction
Please add feature such that When i Right Swipe any task Then it shd show a pop up to move it to any other list. This wud facilitate easy Movement of Tasks between lists of the Day & for the WEEK, etc. So Please add an Option like this for us people for others By default it can stay to that My Day Thing. ! For us v shd hav an option to change that & Right Swipe it Shd Show like Move to icon behind
We need the option to order by list name
I just wanted to make To Do lists and shopping lists and this was more hassle than it's worth for just making lists.
Flexible reminder times and an audible alarm are missing
Users want free-form reminder times and snooze intervals (not a fixed +1 hour), an actual sound alarm, and per-step reminder times
a small correction, in sort options, add sort by reminder date and time
I wish there was a way to tell the app that I don't want reminders. Everytime I open the app it tells me: "You can't set reminders in To Do now because they have been turned off in Settings. To turn on reminders again, select 'Turn on', find To Do in the list, and turn it on." I know they are off. I don't want them turned on. Please stop asking me about it.
I don't need to be notified that my reminder settings aren't on every time I open the app.
