Noom: Weight Loss & GLP-1 Care reviews

What users love and hate · 500 reviews analyzed · ★ 3.8

A weight-loss app combining calorie tracking, a personal coach, and GLP-1 therapy support — built for people losing weight through habit change and mindful eating.

What users love

Teaches the psychology of eating, not just calorie math

Short daily lessons grounded in cognitive psychology help you understand why you eat the way you do — and actually change habits long-term

I have never found a weightloss plan so easy, friendly, supportive and thorough than Noom. If you want the science behind the advice, it's there. If you want the psychology behind your relationship with food, it's there. If you want recipes and ideas, they're there. If you want exercise plans, they're there. if you want motivation and support, it's there. everything you need is there on your phone

I love the Noom app! I have been using it for some time. Noom helps to motivate me and it guides me to make healthy choices. Noom is structured around science and psychology so everything just make sense in my brain. I feel supported and have several options based on my budget, my goals and whether or not I would like medication support. I recently changed to Noom Med where a medical provider pres

it focuses on your mindset as well as food. Great tool for weight loss

No forbidden foods — removes guilt and prevents binges

Nothing is off-limits; favorite foods fit within your budget, which kills the guilt cycle and makes it easier to stay on track

been using app since February..lost about 40 pounds. really like this app

Well-rounded approach, nothing is "off-limits" - focuses on why we have the food habits we do.

I've changed my outlook about weight lost, I was afraid to eat certain things, afraid to weight myself and failed every diet. But with Noom I learned to love me again and to enjoy food the proper way. Mentally I'm able to face the world again, ty for helping me both mind and body.🤗 update, I've been eating without guilt and less than two weeks 8.7 lbs. lost. wow, I'm keeping Noom, they gave me a

Photo recognition speeds up food logging

Snap a plate and the app breaks it into ingredients and estimates calories — a real time-saver

Easy-to-use. coach is great helps wait tip check in. logging food is quick & easy just take a picture. over all a wonderful app for weight loss

Updated after 6 months of use. Pro: The food tracker is good, especially the ability to photograph a meal to identify its contents. Cons: (1) If I enter a food that's not in the Noom database, the app thanks me for adding to the database, but when I go back to search for anything I've entered, it doesn't appear (2) Every time I open the app, it asks me to turn notifications on. Between that and th

The app has improved. However, the food tracking is still not very accurate and missing a lot of food in the database. Some items that I scan are not found, which is frustrating. It also does not allow me to create a recipe and log the servings that I ate from the recipe. I just recently found out iPhone users have this feature but we don't, which is very upsetting. I do like that you can talk to

Barcode scanner often comes up empty

When it works, the barcode scanner makes adding products noticeably faster

This app used to be my go to. It was the easiest and most comprehensive app for food tracking and was free. Now you can't even scan barcodes for free to track food. THE WORST!

Offers good motivation, helpful knowledge and good tracking of food and weight. Only drawback is the bar scanning doesnt recognize alot of products. But very happy with the product and my results..

Its ok. I did learn a few things but after the trial I ultimately decided to not continue. The food directory is severely lacking. Most of the barcode that I scanned were not found and I would have to spend time trying to find similar items in the database. It's incredibly difficult to create recipes to log in the future. Most of all I did not like that I wasn't able to plan the next day in advanc

Lesson gamification and seed rewards are genuinely engaging

Short challenges, levels, and seeds earned for actions motivate daily logging and keep users coming back

Love the tracking and daily lessons. I am ridiculously motivated by earning meaningless seeds. I've really learned what keeps me losing and what stalls me. On the room for improvement side...I have constant issues with the exercise videos glitching. I would like to see them add a recipe analyzer that can break the recipe down to servings. Right now you have to enter just the serving amount to get

Noom has been a great motivational tool for helping me stay focused on healthier habits and weight loss goals. I love the tracking features, encouragement, and daily reminders that keep me accountable without feeling overwhelming. The app is easy to use and keeps me inspired to stay consistent! Also new seed collection is also a great motivation!

Noom has been a very positive experience! My favorite things: 1 mini classes -how to retrain your thinking based on cognitive behavior psychology2. earning seeds for everything from logging food to daily step goals and learning from mini courses. Seeds can be redeemed for charity or gift cards once you earn enough. 3. continuous encouragement and support. This kept me motivated even thru a 2 week

Live coach, doctor, and community create a real support feel

A personal coach, on-call doctor, nutritionist, and community make you feel like you have a whole team behind you

Very supportive of a weight loss journey. Lots of lessons which make you think about your relationship with food.

the whole experience is good. you have a provider, and a nutritionist. a whole team to help you lose weight. the only down side is that it is not a monthly payment.

Offers good motivation, helpful knowledge and good tracking of food and weight. Only drawback is the bar scanning doesnt recognize alot of products. But very happy with the product and my results..

Consistent weight loss with discipline — real results

When users stick to the plan, weight loss is steady — often 10–12 lbs in the first month and dozens of pounds over six months to a year

lost 12 pounds in first month, very easy to use calorie counter. everything i eat is on here. hoping to lose 100 lbs. no stupid shots or pills just healthy eating and accountability.

Just starting out. but I've been using it for 27 days staight and I'm down 12 lbs. Very helpful in tracking my calorie intake, as well as movements and calories burned. It allows me to choose how pushy the notifications are, so informative, educational and low stress. I like the rewards of seeds and levels gaining, like a game a bit.

Fantastic App. If you follow the excercises, log your meals and log in daily, you will lose weight. I'm down 7 pounds in 29 days.

Structured support for menopause and post-50 weight gain

Gives structure and confidence for weight gain during menopause and after 50, with acknowledgment of what makes that period different

Good weight loss program, provides structure, inspiration, recipes, plans for those experiencing menopause weight gain.

Noom app is so user friendly from the helpful lessons to the encouraging pop ups and the food database is massive and the color breakdown is very helpful to teach as well as help you learn the importance of the different foods you consume, wish I found this years ago. good job to the Noom team

I've lost 200 lbs (NOT with Noom) but decided to give this a shot my last 50 lbs. Not only did it flag about half of my meals from my nutritionist as a yellow and orange, it has 0 care or ability to understand supplements, like my collagen powder since I'm in menopause. BUT....my last straw was when I took a picture of my cup of spinach and arugula, scattered on my plate and topped with an apple a

Audio lessons and art pause are liked, but quality and loading lag

The weekly art selection and audio lessons are relaxing and well-received by users

It's a great program. I love the articles that you can listen to on a daily basis. I love the way the program is set up.

Some of these listen options are unlistenable. One was 8.5 minutes long and the reader sounded like she had a cold and had never seen the script before she started reading it. Did you stop having professionals do the reading and are just having staff do it now? Can someone at least listen to them first before allowing them to be uploaded to the app? Not a good experience at all.

Now matured and likely the most sophisticated weight management app available with photo AI logging of meals, intelligent daily lessons, an assigned real live coach, a weekly art segment that is professionally curated, integration with Health, and at a worthwhile subscription after a generous trial period.

Body and face scans break after updates

Body and face scans are a liked way to visualize progress

The app has been updated a lot since I used it a few years ago. I like the body scan feature and the range of lessons / learning material available.

the face scan still isnt working

The scanner doesn't work. Not worth the money if you can't fix something as simple as the scanner

What users hate

Food database is thin, especially outside the US

Many products are missing; manually added items vanish on re-search; users outside the US, Canada, UK, and Australia find almost nothing

Been using for several days, so far my thoughts: Its gamified brilliantly. Duolingo level! A huge chunk of the app is working with psychological reasons of weight struggles and does it well. Still not perfect, but moves you into the right direction. What is annoying: knows almost none of my local products, interprets photos wrong most of the time. It makes calorie counting a struggle. The price is

5/10/2026 This is my third time trying Noom. The first time went ok and I lost about 19 lbs.The second time did not go as well, so I dropped out before my time was up. I decided to try again now because I'm struggling with losing weight due to medical issues. Unfortunately, the App has not opened for me. It keeps giving me an error message. I did contact support but they had a lag time. I finally

Android lacks custom recipes with portion tracking

You can't build a recipe from ingredients and then log a serving of it — the feature exists on iPhone but is absent on Android

The app has improved. However, the food tracking is still not very accurate and missing a lot of food in the database. Some items that I scan are not found, which is frustrating. I lost weight with Noom in the past. I left the program after a couple years but decided return expecting the same great program. Unfortunately, it has changed significantly and definitely not for the better. It is much more impersonal with coaching only with a significant increase in cost. There is no longer the ability to save favorite meals or input recipes on Android. I am just sorry I didn't

Well-rounded approach, nothing is "off-limits" - focuses on why we have the food habits we do.

The food color scale is inconsistent

The same food is called green in a lesson but turns orange in the diary; healthy items routinely land in the orange or red zone

zero personal care... it's run by AI with repeated generic responses. Crashes constantly. Food logging is a huge chore. A lot of foods are not listed or have incomplete/inaccurate nutrition info. The color system doesn't make sense with healthy foods in the orange category. If your vegan, this program puts most non meat protien as sources in the orange. The exercises can only be used on the app an

I really like this app but the lessons will tell me one thing and then when I log my food, it'll tell me something else. What is a green or yellow food, ends up being orange when I log. The inconsistencies with food logging (so far) is the only issues I have. Would rate 5 stars if this was fixed.

You would think that with how much they charge, they could get the barcode scanner to actually work. Also, they are never consistent with labeling foods as green, yellow, or orange.

No fiber or key GLP-1 nutrients visible

Protein is shown, but fiber, fat, sugar, and cholesterol are hidden — a real gap for GLP-1 users who need to track fiber closely

BE CAREFUL WITH NOOM PRICING I signed up for regular noom med for semaglutide full dose program and just found out I'M ON LESS DOSAGE THAN MICRODOSE PROGRAM My advice is sign up for microdose program and only upgrade once you've hit the max microdose program. Out here paying damn near $900/3months to be on the same dosing as the cheaper option?! Food tracking is a joke on this app.... can't even t

The fact that the recipe builder is not available on Android is a real frustration. I just started using noom and a couple things seem to be kind of buggy on my phone (Google pixel 8) The chat seems to work only intermittently and be really slow and laggy even when it works. also when I'm trying to find my macros even though I have the option turned on it's only showing me protein and not fiber, f

need to have some way to track fiber. fiber is important in the glp-1 journey but there's no way to track it in the Noom app.

Can't view or edit past diary entries

Day-navigation arrows disappeared — you can't check or fix yesterday's log, and for some users that history is now locked behind a paywall

No ability to edit meals the day before or after. macros do not calculate properly. i expected more for the money.

does not allow you to edit the previous days food anymore unles you pay for premium, which is almost $30 a month!

Updated after 6 months of use. Pro: The food tracker is good, especially the ability to photograph a meal to identify its contents. Can't plan meals ahead or save frequent items

Logging tomorrow's food in advance isn't possible, and recurring daily items (like a protein shake) have to be rebuilt from scratch each time

There is no longer the ability to save favorite meals or input recipes on Android. I am just sorry I didn't

for android users this is missing a major component of food tracking, being able to add custom recipes and use them over and over. For me, I won't use this app again due to this missing feature.

Its ok. I did learn a few things but after the trial I ultimately decided to not continue. The food directory is severely lacking. Seed notifications are intrusive and ignore silent mode

Seed alerts can't be turned off, they sound even in silent mode, and the reward animations have become overbearing

Overpriced. Also, they recently started sending notifications about something called "seeds". Very annoying, but you can't turn them off. Their help people say it's impossible to turn off these very annoying notifications. Cancelling an uninstalling.

Good app, great program. App should not make sound when my phone is set on silent! Getting seeds does not respect this setting!

I've used noom since July 2024 and it has helped me stay accountable, lose weight and maintain healthier habits. There is a recent update that involves seeds, and I hate it and wish I could figure out how to turn off the extra notifications. It's become more intrusive and it is making me want to quit the app and see how I do without it.

Gift card redemptions are slow and options are limited

Redeeming seeds is a hassle: cards take forever or never arrive, earning even $5 worth is a grind, and the card and charity selection is sparse

It's a good app for keeping track of steps but gift cards take a while to arrive. Support was helpful though.

Used to be great. I used the free version of Noom in 2020. Loved it, recommended it to everyone. 6 years later I just had a baby and thought I'd use it again. Horrible. They've stripped away anything useful on the free version. Adding food and seeing calories/ designing meals is basically impossible compared to what it used to be. My other big complaint is not being able to add activity. It only u

its nice, free version limits features and either version needs time to learn the app, there is a learning curve to logging meals (and not necessarily best on the market). their website is rough! can't find or access your account, it's like they didn't hire a website designer, just used someone already hired. please update so we can access and change email addresses, find account, and stop false a

Replacing human coaches with AI tanked support quality

The coach now mostly links to pre-made content, the doctor surfaces only at the start, and real support has been replaced by templated bot replies

Total Scam. Keep your money away from these people. They force you to pay upfront three months for $900 but they prescribe you a low dose of GLP 1. On top of that, they ask you to pay the trial month $200 but the refilling and shipping Is always delayed. The doctor only interacts with you at the beginning sending you a poor quality recorded video and an AI generated message. After that, whatever c

There are new features that have been changed that are not useful. The coach is now obsolete - all they do is reference the new success kit or other things that I already have access to. they do have access to tracked nutrition info, such as grams of fat eaten which I don't have access to, but it's not helpful for the coach to tell me that I was over in that category for a whole week. Deeply regret upgrading my free account to the "new" free account. You can't add exercises, only steps. Also they want to scan your face. No thanks!

No maintenance or weight-gain mode

The app is weight-loss only — there's no support for gaining or simply eating healthily, and the food diary is inaccessible without a weight-loss goal

Diet Culture BS! I almost signed up last night, because I heard your app has a feature i'm looking for. Then I learned that you guys only accept people who want to lose body weight. This is appalling in 2026, when we have learned that weight loss and fat loss are not the same thing!

Very good free app with minimal nagging for Premium. There are a few biases like frequent endorsements for GLP-1s and weight loss. I am trying to gain so it is the step tracker and general motivation that I like. The food tracker has a lot of idiosyncrasies and could be improved. "Green calorie" ingredients sometimes need to be separated out from meals to receive credit. Receiving seeds is fun and

I have had great success -- both weight loss and maintenance -- with the Noom program, and the app is so easy to use. I'm sure I would not have had this success without this excellent app.

Recipe filters are weak and allergies aren't covered

The vegan filter lets cheese through, allergen filtering only covers dairy and peanuts, and vegetarian protein keeps landing in the orange zone

The Vegan filter means nothing. I only used the vegan filter and a few scrolls down I see a recipe with mozzarella cheese. The filters should actually work.

Portion-size dial is slow and clunky

Setting a portion size requires spinning a wheel instead of typing a number — needlessly tedious

I miss being able to log my food completely without upgrading. I don't wanna take a picture of it or decribe it one by one.

Guys please, for the love of all the gods, give me a way to input a number directly in the serving size. Spinning a dial for five minutes to enter "160" is not ok.

No desktop version; small text is hard for low-vision users

There's no web or desktop version, and the small screen and graphics are a barrier for users with low vision; dark mode is a common request

I find it really difficult to use. It's confusing because parts overlap one another. I would prefer to be able to use my laptop also, but there doesn't seem to be anyway to do that. That's a real drawback because some of us don't have the vision to use such a small screen. It isn't very accessible. I just got the medication today. The food logging is irritating. When I look at the meals tab, it ad

Overall a good app. Would like a dark or night mode. Also, with the newest update, face scans and the weekly art break are unable to load
