- ★★★★★incomplete and outdated product database
Deleted My Review. So I recently made a review because I noticed that the Amazon product linked was a fake and recommended people to buy from the official store and in three minutes of me publishing the deleted so it feels like this company is making money through commission through their links and it’s not transparent with the customers/reviewers.
- ★★★★★subscription trap and unexpected charges
Worst app ever. The app asks to do a free trial when you open it up for the first time. Personally, I did not find this app useful so I deleted it but I forgot that it would charge me after the trial is over. I tried to get a refund through Apple as soon as I saw the charge but apparently this app is not eligible for refunds so now I’m stuck with a $60 charge on something that I will never use.

Does not show routine conflicts. I really really, really wanted to like this app, however it does not show conflicts between products in your routine as you choose what to apply every day. I prefer an active notification to let me know when I shouldn’t combine different products in the same routine. Incredibly disappointed.
- ★★★★★bugs and technical failures
Pointless. Sadly, this is advertised to help people who are not as familiar with skin care, ingredients, and regiments and does not deliver. They market they will give you assistance in building a regimen when they just share dupe options for what you’re already using.

Overpriced Search Engine. I really wanted to like SkinSort, but it ended up being a disappointment. The app feels like a stripped-down search engine. It’s less useful than just looking things up on Google or even browsing Reddit, where you get a wider range of users’ experiences and opinions. One of the biggest issues is how misleading it is about creating a “routine.” That feature is either extremely limited or just not actually functional in a meaningful way. I expected something personalized and helpful, but it didn’t deliver. There’s also no consideration for budget when suggesting products, which makes the recommendations feel out of touch and impractical. For something that’s paid, I expected a lot more value and usability. Overall, it feels overpriced for what it offers, and I honestly regret paying for it. I wish I could get a refund.

How do I cancel my subscription?. This app makes it nearly impossible to cancel your free trial.
- ★★★★★ingredient analysis and routine matching
Disappointing. Wanted to love this but it has major flaws. Great concept but search filters are almost useless returning too many or too few results and features for finding better alternatives to current products do not work at all because they compare product similarity, meaning recommendations reproduce the flaws it has already identified in your current routine. Might be better for scanning products in store, but to plan a routine this is a real let-down. Canceled my trial very quickly.

Charged after trial period. The price point of this app being $6/year is steep and outrageous for research you can do for free. What I’m even more upset about is that they advertised a 7 day free trial period just to charge $60 on my card even though I cancelled the app days before the week ended.

Buggy App. The app’s search feature used to work better. Not it has a lot of bugs which is annoying since I paid for the premium so that it allows me to view my searches by best match. Now their search engine doesn’t even search properly and shows 0 matches even though the auto fill detects a couple matches. Not sure if there’s issues with whatever database or API they’re using to search products but it’s definitely not properly showing all matches. Because what do you mean, if I simply toggle on the foundation filter, it only shows me 25 results??? Make it make sense. Please fix the app, because otherwise it feels I’ve simply been scammed of my money. And I really truly did enjoy using this app before.

Cannot log in. Unfortunately, I can’t use this app because when I sign in it just takes me right back to the sign in screen. So I cannot get in, from any method

Bug in App. I can’t select my products because it does not allow me to put spaces in between words - just jumps back to the end of the word. Sucks.

ZERO value. This app has zero value and it should not be for sale. It is basically a log of the skin care products you use, like a nutrient macro tracker. Save yourself time and money and just put that information in your Notes app. Worthless. I want my money back.

Pay for everything now?. Ok, this is extremely ridiculous. How are you going to call yourself a “skinsort” app when you have all of the skinsorting options at a premium fee? I have been using this app for years and I absolutely loved it! Now i am just extremely disappointed. Will be deleting as there is essentially no use for this app anymore if you are not willing to pay for the subscription. I honestly expected better from this company :(

Why can’t I scan??. The ad said I’d be able to “scan in” my products but so far I’ve been forced to try and find them through the apps search function which keeps erasing spaces between words?? The functionality in the first few minutes of use has already been awful. Deeply disappointed. Also there was no place to exclude specific ingredients for those who actually know their triggers. Great idea, terrible execution.

Search feature broken!. Seach feature is basically broken! Please update and fix this issue. Searching for something seems simple until you actually click on the item you want. Once you’ve viewed that item and select the back button, you can’t even access the page you were just scrolling through of the brand or specific item you just searched. It’s so tedious. I have yo keep pressing the home button to try to reset it and keep starting over any time i want to keep scrolling and selecting things i’m searching. This app also seems to be randomly adding new ingredients that were never labeled not as fungal acne safe on this app, as now not fungal acne safe.. even when actual malassezia checkers don’t even list that item as a problem. So weird.

Not good. Doesn’t work well, the “scan products” doesn’t work at all. Every product was wrong don’t waste your time or money

Charged me $76.35 immediately after agreeing to 7-day FREE trial. I would love to actually review the app and its utility, but I’m too frustrated to even look at it now. I thought the tool looked like it might be helpful to me, and am totally up for paying for things I use… However, immediately - less than 10 seconds after clicking my side button for approval - after agreeing to the offered 7-day FREE TRIAL (via the app), I received a notification that I had been charged $76.35. There wasn’t even time for me to cancel the subscription if I wanted to! I provided feedback via their portal (promoted after install), but when I attempted to use their “contact us” page and selected “request a refund” (or similar), I was directed to contact Apple services. I understand how the contracts work (that Apple is responsible for reversing charges), but it’s super frustrating to have to do such legwork in the first place. When I requested a refund from Apple, there wasn’t a text field where I could alert them that I was charged immediately instead of after the 7-day free trial (part of which which included a promised reminder email two days before renewal. 🙄) Users shouldn’t have to be leery about signing up for free trials. It’s one thing for users to complain because they weren’t aware of the T&C (ex: being charged at end of trial unless they cancel 24 hours beforehand) - that’s annoying. It’s another thing when the user is mindful of what they’re signing up for and the terms associated, and those terms are breached seconds after they agreed to them.

DON’T GET THIS APP 👎👎👎. It used to be great but they’ve locked everything behind a pay wall now. And $60 per year?? What a joke. There’s nothing in this app that warrants such a high subscription fee in the first place. The creators clearly got greedy. Also I couldn’t even use the app unless I updated, whenever I opened the app the subscription screen would pop up with no way to cancel it or exit out, a problem I didn’t have til they put everything behind the paywall. It only fixed itself once I updated to the version that didn't still have the old features for free which makes me believe that definitively wasn’t a bug. And to top it all off any app reviews, especially those with criticisms get replied to with that stupid bot response, that’s how I know this company no longer cares about its app users 👎

Pay wall. I had this app for a long long time and I obsessed with it. would constantly tell anyone and everyone about it every chance I got. The features were accessible and helpful to anyone and I’ve come back after some time and now you have to pay for everything? And I do mean everything. Complete disappointment and huge let down to a loyal user.
- ★★★★★subscription trap and unexpected charges
Misleading. You have to pay for it to give you any real good info…
- ★★★★★ingredient analysis and routine matching
Free trial? I was charged immediately on the first day I joined.. It clearly said there was a 7-day free trial, and the charge would be made after the trial. But I was charged on the same day I agreed, even though the trial period had not even ended. I also canceled during the trial period, yet I still can’t get a refund.

Just deleted. On free version, first day and it made me leave a review a minute into it which I left 5 stars for giving me a skin quiz and being so great intro wise. But now that I started scanning, it says “product not found” for literally everything! Deleting app. Plus only allows unlimited scans the first day. So even if they did have the product in their system, I’d have to pay to continue using it. Glad I didn’t pay for an app that doesn’t have any products in it. Also froze and had to restart it. Also slower. Wanted to compare it to Yuka but never had a product to show me so can’t compare them. At least Yuka works.
- ★★★★★paywall on previously free features
Bait and switch. The app used to allow two product comparisons but now any product comparison is a paid version. And they make it seem that if you download the app, it will be a feature you can utilize, but of course, once you give them the info and access to your data, you find you you need to sign up for “premium” version. Shame. Used to be an awesome website/app.
- ★★★★★paywall on previously free features
Nothing is free nowadays. Why do I have to pay
- ★★★★★ingredient analysis and routine matching
i feel COMPLETELY scammed, this app has done nothing but take my $$. if I could give it zero stars, I would. Simply because I was told specifically IN THE APP, I would get an alert or some sort of message before it charges me, as in before the free trial ends. I got no email, no message, and was charged over $40. And on TOP of everything, this app has yet to recommend me anything good for my skin. It keeps matching me with the wrong stuff even after I’ve already set my preferences, Completely annoyed.

Worst experience with an app ever. From an iPad, can’t scan products without registering. Fine. Registered and required login which was not recognized. Repeat. Same result. Finally got it to take and was alerted my browser was not recognized. Required to login again, not recognized….repeat. Bye bye, won’t be seeing me again!
- ★★★★★bugs and technical failures
Poorly designed. Very NOT user friendly. The app (and website) is very slow. It could not identify anything I scanned. It will label things that are terrible for acne as good. I’m not sure if they get paid for good reviews or not. I thought it was free, but it’s $40 a year, absolutely not worth it. I also have no idea how to contact customer support or any kind of help.

Can’t log in. Tried to cancel my subscription by sending an email according to the website and says email has permanent errors. Will initiate achargeback.

Be careful with this app. I combed thru tons of sensitive and fungal acne “safe” products and double checked ingredients, many were completely inaccurate. What this app says may be sensitive skin or fungal acne safe, was absolutely not, due to inaccurate ingredients lists. These are user input and the company is supposed to “double check” for accuracy but clearly many things are getting past them. I had paid for a membership for a year, but due to how misleading this app is, I cancelled it.
