User-driven database, but you pay. Was free, now they make you pay to use/search items. Why contribute when you have to pay? Makes no sense to have to pay for access to a database whose majority of items’ ratings are user-driven. Will be using & contributing to EWG from now on. Another “for-the-users,” “by-the-users” app bites the dust for shareholders.

$$$. Money is all you want. You say you can search for free but that is not the truth, keyword search is only if you pay. Don’t say it’s free when it doesn’t function without paying.

Doesn’t unlock. I have had this app for years. On two separate occasions I paid to upgrade but nothing changed from the free version. I was still not able to view my upgrade access. Once Apple returned my $. Now the app changed and I can’t search for free. Only scan in store. My goal is to find clean beauty products for my kids. I have moved to other apps. I don’t mind paying a fee, but not if it doesn’t work.

Not free. I can’t look anything up without it wanting me to upgrade. Before it did that, anything I DID look up was locked. Worthless app. Downloaded and uninstalling all in a matter of 5 minutes. Thanks for nothing.

Use to be helpful. I loved this app when I first started using it because it was an easy way for me to overhaul my beauty products for clean options. The reason I am giving it just 1 star is because they have switched to an option that will allow a person to see which products are clean only if you pay a subscription. This doesn’t make the app as user friendly as it use to be.

Not great. I downloaded and got rid of it in less than an hour. I got this app to check for ingredients in my products and you had to upgrade to do almost everything. It gave you reviews (you can get reviews pretty much anywhere, so it's not really needed for that.

.. I have used this app for years since it first came out. Yet they have slowly taken what use to be a free app with helpful information to just another money grab. A few years ago they locked out half of the information and then I recently tried to use it only to find you can’t even search for products without paying.

Not particularly helpful unless you pay for it. I was just trying to find an exfoliator that is safe for me and aligns with my ethics but I can’t even access that category (nor many other categories) without paying money that I don’t have. Guess poor people deserve cancer.

Horrible way to treat your highest paying customers - Plays DIRTY. I purchased this app last year and paid for the highest-tier subscription available at the time, which promised access to all features. A few months later, when I went to use the app again, I was shocked to find that I was suddenly blocked from features I had already paid for. It turns out the company added new subscription tiers in the middle of my active subscription and now expects me to pay more to regain full access during the term I already paid for. Even worse, the only way to resolve this is by emailing customer support and spending my own time fixing something that shouldn’t have happened in the first place. This is extremely poor customer service. Here’s the real kicker: I would have happily paid more at renewal if the price increased. But retroactively removing features I already paid for and then making me chase support to fix it? Absolutely not. ThinkDirty, more like Play Dirty.

Used to be good. I was a big user of the app when it first came out. I was able to use essentially all functions. Fast forward, you can’t use a single function as they want you to pay. Y’all, you can’t even search for anything unless you pay. What!? Honestly, I’m so tired of these companies constantly wanting money from people. Garbage of an app.

Blind Purchase. I was downloading this app due to circumstances of my allergies. Yet, they do not have an option to see if the app works (like a free trail or a chance to sample a product with the app). Why would I buy something that I’m not aware of its functionality? It would be great to use the references of the ratings, however, this app may work for certain people just by sheer chance. This is truly a blind purchase that I will not patronize.
