Hard to connect. I can’t find its own power pedals when the power pedals are connected to my head unit and everything else, but for some reason, the app can’t find it. Also, the app does not show all the data that is shown in the preview of the App Store.

Never worked right. For some brief periods they worked okay, but then they drop off the Edge. Or can’t connect to Zwift. App never worked well, and I think I managed to update the firmware once, years ago. They’re hobbled by garbage grade radio and useless app. DUOs.

Pedals Won’t Sync to App. I bought the Favero Assioma Duo Shis a few years ago, and while they sync with my Garmin head unit, they will not connect to this app. I am trying to make changes so power from both pedals is recognized for Zwift; however, this app is unable to find my pedal. Very frustrating.

No way to find bootloader. I had a recall on a power meters and followed the procedure to replace it and block one of my power meters but it broke my other power meter. The “working” power meter is now stuck in bootloader mode but the new favero assioma app removed that for some reason and there is no way to fix the pedal now. Went from two perfectly working pedals to zero.

Crashes on load. “An unexpected error occurred” shows when I try to open the app. Redownloaded, and same thing. My Assioma pedals aren’t working, hoping the app would help, but can’t get the app to work either…

Doesn’t recognize pedals even though they’re connected. This app used to work fine but now my pedals won’t connect to the app despite them being connected to my iPhone 14 Pro in the Bluetooth menu. The app constantly searches for the pedals and never finds them. The Bluetooth menu doesn’t give an option to forget them. Not sure what to do but the app/FAQ is completely unhelpful.

Unable to activate pedals. Had pedals for almost a month but haven’t been able to use them as cannot activate in app. Reach stage of inputting details and it always crashes (on two different Apple devices) stating that an unexpected error has occurred. Will have to return pedals if this cannot be resolved because at the moment all I have is very expensive spd-sls!

Not fully developed. Once you have started an activity (such as replacing a pedal body) there is no way to go back to the landing page without a bunch of taps, or exiting the app

Less than half my power now.. I used to love my pedals but now only showing less than half my power on Zwift. Thought it was Zwift at first, but with the new update that’s when I started having the problems three weeks ago. I tried my wife’s exercise bike had my old numbers, and I went by Trek and there Garmin pedals had the old same numbers. I love telling people on my YouTube channel that these pedals was an excellent alternative for us overweight riders. I hope it’s fixed one day. I really really enjoyed these pedals. I would like to use them when I buy Zwift ride in about a month. Please give me an answer any other day. I would’ve gave them a five out of five. YouTube channel @Quartertonactivities

Requires internet connection now. Update 2025: this app is updated weekly for seemingly no reason whatsoever. Whoever manages this app development needs fired. No longer works without an internet connection. Please reverse this change, it used to work! When riding rurally there often isn’t a mobile data network available. If someone needs to reconfigure the pedals in a remote area abroad, such as changing the crank arm length, they can’t do it with this new app version. It moans about requiring an internet connection and nothing will bypass this screen. Update: that’s my point, developer! If you take the pedals abroad to use on another bike in an area with NO internet, you can’t calibrate or set up the pedals! It’s completely stupid to require an internet connection and everybody knows it. The old app required NO internet connection after pedal registration and had the same features OFFLINE! Honestly, some people…

Should auto-connect. I agree with other reviewers that these pedals should auto-connect with the app every time. The dev explanation is that it is open to connect to any pedals but my app is only paired to one set of pedals—no guesswork there. Sure—if there are multiple pairings the app might want to ask, but the majority of people probably only have one pair. Maybe a toggle to “connect default pair automatically”.

Internet connection requirement break app when off the grid. The major flaw that the app has is that it requires an internet connection in order to start up. This effectively breaks the app whenever there isn’t an internet connection and you need to: - put them in travel mode - change crank length - do diagnostic testing or battery check - use the app for any other purpose. Please DONT say that its to do a firmware update when I’m in the mountains or in the backcountry doing an off-the-grid ride! A sensible adult user can upgrade before going on a trip. OTHERWISE the app performs OK and seems to do what it is supposed to do. Good on that part. BUT the internet connection requirement to start the app is a dealbreaker. If you fix this I would love to upgrade the rating to a 4 or 5.

Needs work. For the most part it Does what it’s meant to do but could do with some simple fixes. The new home screen has added an extra unnecessary step to connect pedals. We shouldn’t have to tell the app every single time we open it that we’ve already activated our pedals. The pedals should just immediately show and ask to be connected. Secondly before going to travel mode a secondary safety pop up screen should come up warning users that you cannot get out of travel mode without a charging cable.
