Bitwarden is open source and transparent with the way they handle user information. They have zero knowledge of what's in our vaults. Everything is encrypted, from passwords, username fields, notes, custom fields, etc.
amazing integration with android. very mature app, and can be used with self hosted server!
Decided privacy isn't important for a password app.

При падении сервера нельзя добавить новые записи даже с локальной копией
Was a hell to self host and then I found out that I can't add new records when the server is down (same on desktop). Offline mode is something unheard of.
Update to 2026.4.0 broke self-hosted login. Running Vaultwarden Docker latest. App refuses to connect with generic auth error. Downgrading to 2025.12.0 fixes immediately.
Updated my job password, tried to save it on bitwarden and it didn't sync. Now I'm locked out of my own job laptop.

i used this for a long time and now there's a prompt I am forced to accept for accessibility autofill. I not only don't want to use that, I don't want to accept this. So I'm locked out of bitwarden.
The new update: Accessibility Service Disclosure notice on my screen, stating that Bitwarden offers an OPTIONAL autofillll method but there is only an option to accept that, otherwise I cannot access the app.
Don't force us to accept accessibility options or else we cannot use the app! this is stupid!

No ability to store passkeys on windows. also when I tried logging in with my google passkey it said I didn't have one even though I did. lastly there is no ability to search bitwarden for which logins contain passkeys. overall the way it manages passkeys is pretty poor which is a critical limitation for a password manager in 2026.
Passkeys are not working fix them already
autofill often doesn't work. passkeys often don't work.
