Journal entries are frequently deleted. I've found that entries are frequently not saved. You could write a long journal entry and "poof" it's all gone. So I started saving as I wrote only to find that sometimes the entries are STILL NOT SAVED.

UPDATE 2026-05-24 After all these years, sync is still not fixed. And as of this week, Looking Glass links in my morning emails no longer open the app
I use this a lot. But the sync doesn't go well from desktop to phone app. The other way it's perfect. But most times if I make changes on the web app, it doesn't sync the changes with the phone.
Love the site and app but they aren't syncing and I can't get my entries I wrote on my laptop on the phone app. Super annoying.

If you forget your password for an encrypted journal there is no way you can unlock it! I will never use it again.
It was really nice while I could use it. Now the app won't let me reset the passcode (no alternate option nor forgot password feature). So I'm locked out of the bloody thing on my phone.
I haven't used the app in a few years and now I cannot unlock my journal anymore. There's no reset button anywhere. What can I do to retrieve all my past rants??

I have been using Penzu for a couple years and got Pro maybe a year ago. I love that it has a website so I can journal on my laptop but PLS GET DARK MODE FOR MOBILE APP, I usually journal on my phone at night and the white can be glaring.
One of my favorite apps. The interface is easy to navigate. Cloud native. You never lose your journals.
I love the website with all of its features. The app, however, does not seem to display the features like the desktop site.
