This app has made me realize just how poor I am at speaking German on the fly. Listening, reading, or writing. No problem. But the second the microphone turns on, I'm lucky to get out one word per second. This is practice I've genuinely needed, and it's taken the social pressure aspect out of it

I was using duolingo for more than a year now and I am really enjoying the speaking and listening opportunities with Praktika. Definitely great for taking your learning to the next level

I liked it, it was enjoyable and easy to talk with. I felt comfortable not like I was only just talking to AI

it's really friendly app and useful, because we speak about something and I in real time can ask my question or see how to tell my sentences better

this is the best app I've found for learning a language. it remembers your inputs so it can create a real immersive learning experience.

The pronunciation, in Italian for example, is completely wrong and off and sounds like an American that doesn't know Italian

I tried using this for Japanese, but it keeps using the wrong pronunciation for kanji. I'm pretty sure that this will actively hurt my chances of learning Japanese.

it did not even listen to me I was just talking about some random stuff in English and it says great now you're in A1 I didn't even talk about anything in Spanish

it says I done well in my first lesson and I never spoke any Spanish

they kept saying I was doing a good job with my answers when I couldn't get my mic to work, so I wasn't even answering.

False advertising - the ad shows live in-line pronunciation feedback, however since this is just a text LLM wrapper with an avatar above it, it can't really do this.

It isnt much different from just talking to chatGPT - in fact based on it's answers I think that this is more of a expensive chatGPT wrapper

Not great, you could just talk to a normal ai chat bot and get the same kind of interaction

I canceled a few days ago before the free trial ended & received email confirmation. Even though I got confirmation, they STILL charged me today for a yearly subscription without my approval.

I have tried many times in multiple ways to cancel and they do not send the link. emailing them does no good. I am having to cancel my card in order to block them from getting my money

Sketchy. No way to cancel after you sign up for a trial, your credit card gets charged and they refuse a refund.

I refuse to input my credit card info at the beginning of my FREE trial.

You cannot start without putting your payment details, which is ridiculous... you should be able to try a product before making any kind of a deal about it.

you get a week free trial, but you still have to put in your payment information, in hopes that you forget to cancel!

The ads say "a lot of languages". BS! VERY limited selection.

I love the concept of this app, but unfortunately they don't offer the Polish language, which is the one I am currently actively learning.

taught me numbers 1-5 in korean, cool, says he'll do a quiz..first question, whats 4 in english? then gives me 3 korean options so obviously i get it wrong and says noo thats korean.

I selected A0 (I honestly am probably closer to a1 or a2) as my level and it was throwing words at me during quizzes it never taught.

they skip that part and give a multiple choice selection without any context. I, of course, keep failing these quizzes because I have to choose an answer without knowing what the question was.

Have to press the button every time you want to talk, just about every other AI you can have a hands-free conversation. Makes it worthless to use while driving.

Often the mic wouldn't pick up what I was saying and I had to repeat myself so many times, and often the Ai tutor takes too long to start vocalizing

too expensive, sound recording doesn't work smoothly, AI tutor sounds unnatural

i dont want to have 2 options. 3 months or a year. who pays 3 months to an app that they dont know if they are going to like

solid concept, just not sure about the price. $99 per year without a month to month option. seems like a heavy commitment without an opportunity to truly know if it works for you or not.
