Desperately, desperately needs Android auto app. I prefer to play most of these articles, audibly, but this is made difficult by the lack of an Android auto application.

I just wish there could be a sleep timer built into the app, as I quite often listen to your podcast before bed.

the reading side is great but the audio speed options are terrible- 1x is sleeping inducing and 1.25 is too quick for my ageing brain, please can we have a slider so we can set at the pace we want

The thoughtful, in depth articles keep me informed and stimulates critical thinking.

I find many of these articles so interesting and thought provoking. They changed the way I look at the world and myself.

The Atlantic is one of the few remaining magazines that publish long-form articles. It is an excellent, incredibly valuable resource.

now it forces an AI generated summary every time i want to listen to my news as before. It feels like Google is forcing this AI news, and completely removed the option to hear the news directly as before.

Now it either searches for the article title (taking you to the AI summary) or makes up a question like "tell me about [news topic]" and takes you to the AI. I want to read the actual news article, not artificially inflate Google's AI use metrics.

if your articles are worth reading, why include AI summaries of them? These summaries imply the writing isn't worth the reader's time. It feels like AI integration just for the sake of AI integration

when I select an article, read it, then go back to the main page It continually takes me to the top and I have to scroll back down to where I previously selected an article

after you click on an article to read and then exit that article, it automatically takes you to the top of the news feed. pain to have to scroll down thru all the articles to get to where you left off.

There's also a feature that scrolls an article to where you left off, but it's frequently wrong, like it's scrolling for a different article.

Google News spoiled an MMA fight result directly in a push notification. I had avoided the result all day to watch the fight later, but the notification showed the winner immediately in the preview. Sports notifications need a spoiler-free mode.

I get sports alerts even though I don't care anything about it and it's not selected for my preferences.

All notifications must be grouped at one name "CNN" by time in groupe, not each separate notification by time.

I don't need an announcement for your new post. I don't need a reminder the next day to sharey article or view status of article. technology gives us options, but you refuse to build them in. Please allow complete disabling of all notifications and reminders.

I'm unsubscribing to accounts that I don't want to because the notifications still come through even though they are muted.

Now the adds are larger than a full screen so you can't avoid touching them while scrolling. This is borderline ad fraud since someone is paying out for those unintended ad clicks.

if I do much as touch an ad - not click, just touch while scrolling, it redirects me to that site. bad behavior. stop it

some of the "normal" ads now open when you touch (not tap) them, even if you just happen to slide over them while scrolling the articles.

The inability to edit posts from the app is unacceptable though. In order to edit posts you have to open a browser and go to the Substack website.

great journalism, simple app. but it makes sharing stories too difficult. how about a "copy link?"

search doesn't work (search for an author includes many other authors, search for a topic includes many other topics, search for a title simply doesn't work)

Subs through the app/Play Store are ENTIRELY SEPARATE from the magazine. WTH? I can't change the sub to what I want. Canceled via Play Store (no refund). If I later subscribe via the mag, I have to use a new email and lose all acct history.

Refuses to believe that I have a subscription, even though it works fine on the iOS version.

the android app doesn't seem to like being behind a VPN, and tells me I don't have a subscription.

Really disappointing for podcasts - not a patch on BBC Sounds ( which is not available for long term use outside of the UK).

Should be able to pay to view video content if you don't live in UK
