Work Log reviews

What users love and hate · 500 reviews analyzed · ★ 4.7

A minimalist work-hours log with clock-in/out and pay calculation — built for employees and small businesses tracking shifts by hand.

What users love

Does one thing — counts hours — without feature bloat

Straightforward shift tracking with no clutter: people specifically switch to this from overstuffed apps

simplicity at its best. if you work on the less is more principal, this is for you. Download a few other apps which were great but overly complicated.

easy to use

so far works as needed

Calculates pay from your rate and shows an expected paycheck

Enter your rate and the app figures out earnings per shift and per pay period — your upcoming payment is always visible

never have to guess my time and hours. I didnt get the paid version too. cant imagine how much more you could if you did

I've used the app for more than a few years. Now, it is not adding the total hours correctly. The app is giving me 3 hours more than if I add them myself. Little frustrating. plus, now there is an update that should transfer the existing data. Nope, it didn't happen.. I'm looking for a better app. Any suggestions?

This app works great for keeping track of your hours you work. I like the note feature. I use it to keep track of what jobs I've worked on through the week.

Your own records as a check against employer miscalculation

People keep their own log to cross-reference pay stubs and catch underpayments before they happen

Very helpful to track hours for if your company requires you to manually enter your own hours. Even if you forget to punch in you can go back in and edit your time to when you actually went in.

really good app I highly recommend this app keep track of your hours and you set it up right track how much you should be expecting

This app does more than what I need for tracking hours. Very robust and solid for free. Thank You

One-tap clock-in and clock-out, with a widget

Start and end a shift with a single tap, or directly from the widget — just like a physical time clock

great but can't retrieve previous info

I use this app as a basic time clock and it's perfect for my needs easy to use even the free version gives me all the tools I need right now

easy to use and can update any entry

Editable shifts — backfill and correct anytime

Forgot to clock in or made a mistake? Go back and fix the time with no friction

Very helpful to track hours for if your company requires you to manually enter your own hours. Even if you forget to punch in you can go back in and edit your time to when you actually went in.

easy to use. make adjustments is easy. I really like this app

Works great! I'm able to keep track of all my hours and even look it up by pay period!

Shift notes: tasks done, client name, disputed moments

Each shift can have a note about the work performed, the client, or conditions — useful as supporting evidence

great way to keep job logs and hours worked

its very good and free app no complaints ✌️

Views by day, week, month, and pay period

Easy to switch between week, month, year, and custom pay period and see totals for each

I work odd days with varying shift times as an independent contractor. Easy to pull this up and press a button so long as I remember I have it lol

love this app its truly a lifesaver

makes it very easy to record works hours and pay

Tracks mileage, tips, and expenses alongside hours

Beyond work time, you can log work-related mileage, tips, and expenses in the same app

it is extremely simple and easy to use for anyone trying to mark your hours personally but a level of integrity is necessary

excellent tool to track your hours 👍 simple easy and fast

very accurate

Handles irregular and floating shift schedules

Works for contractors, freelancers, rotating-shift workers, and overnight staff with variable schedules, multiple locations, and 24-hour clock support

I work odd days with varying shift times as an independent contractor. Easy to pull this up and press a button so long as I remember I have it lol

Life made easier, no need for daily attendance sheets.

works alright. but its kind of a pain that the free version won't export any reports so I can't actually print anything from the app.

Tracks breaks within a shift

Deduct a lunch break or mark a pause — the final hour count comes out more accurate

great for work

makes it very easy to record works hours and pay

This tool is very useful and simple to use!

The redesigned interface got a mixed reception

Collapsed notes with a pop-up view and the refreshed look won over many users; the developer responds quickly to reported issues

I use this app as a basic time clock and it's perfect for my needs easy to use even the free version gives me all the tools I need right now

UX is horrible. The App let's you reset the day work by mistakenly pressing the wrong button. No regret option. I had 4 days reset already when I had an unwanted window open up for some reason, having only 1 button in the middle. Unwanted windows such as manually entering working hours. No clue why or how it was openned, but leaving it just erased the punch in time. Frusturating how UX is disregar

Awesome

Accurate calculations, stable performance across years of use

People use it for 7–15 years and trust the totals — it has never miscounted

I've been using this app for years, I love it.

UI update literally made it less usable. Give me back my check boxes on the left.

works alright. but its kind of a pain that the free version won't export any reports so I can't actually print anything from the app.

What users hate

Overtime can't be calculated against two rules at once

You can't calculate overtime both weekly (over 40 hours) and daily (over 8 hours) simultaneously — only one rule applies at a time; PTO counts toward overtime

works as it should

very good

Awesome

Not enough rate tiers or holiday multipliers

Only two pay add-ons; no separate multipliers for evenings, nights, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays — especially when those categories overlap

I've been using work log for like 10 years, amazing app! come across an issue I hope is just me being blind and or stupid... I started a proper paying job that actually pays correctly... as in overtime and such, problem is, I cant seem to find a way to do 2 different rates for like Christmas and Easter type rates of triple time, and double time and a half for smaller public holidays like the kings

I like this app for time keeping. it's user friendly and has everything needed!

awesome app... I love it

Too few slots for pay raises over time

Only 5–6 rate-history slots; after annual raises you have to delete old entries, which rewrites or erases past shift records

Great way to keep track of hours worked.

content with the app.

Multiple jobs and rates require a paid upgrade

The free version doesn't support a second job with a separate rate and paycheck, or grouping shifts by employer

simple to use. very helpful .

makes it very easy to record works hours and pay

💯 accurate, but the problem is holidays I can't see the double rate for holiday

No multi-segment shifts or shift copy/paste

Can't define a split shift (morning + evening) in one step or duplicate last week's schedule — every day is entered manually; no batch editing

works as it should

I like this app for time keeping. it's user friendly and has everything needed!

work log helps me to calculate my extra working hours. now I don't have to count my hours manually as in work log I can set my hourly pay out and can get my exact payment easily

Users want a calendar view, reminders, and location-based clock-in

No visual calendar, no reminder to clock in, and no GPS-triggered time entry — people regularly forget to tap in or out

it work just need a reminder so that we not forget to punch in or out

Very good

💯 accurate, but the problem is holidays I can't see the double rate for holiday

Easy to accidentally reset a day, with no undo

One wrong tap can wipe an entire shift; there's no undo, and the clock-in time is gone — a recurring complaint about the tap targets

awesome 👍

its very good and free app no complaints ✌️

Shift times shift when you cross time zones

The app recalculates logged hours to match your current location — a problem for anyone who travels, as it corrupts historical data

Frustrating bugs for a paid app. I upgraded to the full version expecting a better experience, but it’s not worth the money due to two major flaws: Time Zones: The app shifts logged working hours based on your current location. Changing time zones alters your data, ruining accurate tracking. Navigation: When viewing or exporting PDFs from previous months, entering/exiting "Settings" resets the vie

View resets to the current week on each return

Leaving settings or switching to another app jumps the calendar back to the current week, forcing you to navigate back every time

Very good app. User friendly and simple to use. recommended.

No multi-currency support or flexible pay period dates

Pay calculation is tied to dollars; users ask for euros and other currencies; custom period dates (e.g. 6th–20th) and hiding clock times aren't possible

love it saves my time and shows my earnings

very accurate

works as described, just need a way to track my shifts
