Try the color before the renovation
Trying a specific paint or wallpaper on a photo of the wall. You compare options in your own room, with the window, the furniture and the other details staying where they are.
Sometimes a renovation starts with a single decision: repaint the kitchen fronts, or pick a wall shade. Generating a whole interior gets in the way of comparison if the furniture, the lighting and details of the space change along with the color.
All I wanted was to see different colors on my cabinets for a diy update for my kitchen. Could NOT get it to work. Other features worked just not the one I downloaded it for.
How this could work
Select a surface in one photo and compare several chosen colors while the rest of the shot stays as it is. Keep the original image and the sample’s name alongside. For wallpaper, account for the scale of the pattern as well, so the try-on doesn’t change it arbitrarily.
What to test first
Ask a person to pick samples to test at home. An on-screen try-on should help narrow the choice, not promise exact color reproduction under any lighting. Compare the result with real samples on the same surface.
