Trek Central

doubtful rating

It has one strong and powerful thing: fine-tuning the e-bike motor, from maximum range to 300W for steep climbs. Everything else wobbles: the app won't hold a connection to the bike, won't reconnect after a pause, crashes when viewing history, and the mandatory sign-up demands height, weight and location just to set the clock on the bike. There's no Apple Watch heart-rate support and no export to Apple Health or Strava.

About the rating

The 4.75 store average against a 2.72 text average with only 20 percent five-star text is a sharp gap. The fives are often sarcastic ('made the app so unusable you put the phone down and just ride') or about the bike itself, not the app. It looks like love for Trek hardware, not the software, is propping up the store score.
