An editorial reading of the saved reviews
One of the few scanners that genuinely lets you create QR codes for multiple data types: contacts, WiFi networks, calendar events, and plain text. It works reliably and handles codes from different countries. One historical low point: a monetization switch that invalidated lifetime purchases users had already paid for. Ads that appear between a scan result and the link you are about to open are a real annoyance.
What people use it for
Someone who needs to generate several types of QR codes and keep a scan history, and who is willing to put up with ads or pay to remove them.
What reviews praise
- Wide range of QR code generation types.
- Scan history is saved.
- Reliable support for codes from different countries and formats.
What reviews complain about
- Ads are injected between the scan result and the link tap, and sometimes look like the destination page itself.
- Calendar event generation does not let you set a specific date and time.
- WiFi QR requires a minimum password length.
- Lifetime purchases were once revoked after an app update.
What users experience
1 excerpt from the breakdown. These are individual cases, not a verdict on all users.
I've had this product for a few years. I used to like it, but more recently when you scan a code, a random advertisement link pops up before your desired URL. These ads can be maliciously deceptive, making you think you're on the page of the QR code you scanned, but they trick you into signing up for something.
