An editorial reading of the saved reviews

Once a reliable recorder with cloud export, but Apple Watch sync has broken down, all cloud connectors (Dropbox, iCloud) work inconsistently, and the free version now shows objectionable ads. The recording function itself holds up, but everything that happens after tapping stop has become a lottery.

What people use it for

Anyone who makes occasional personal notes and does not need Watch or cloud sync.

What reviews praise

Recording runs in the background without loss, files are delivered in multiple formats including MP3, and the interface is simple enough that you do not have to think about it during a session.

What reviews complain about

  • File transfer from Apple Watch is unreliable and may not deliver the recording at all.
  • All cloud integrations stall at upload.
  • The free version shows banner ads with unacceptable content.

What users experience

3 excerpts from the breakdown. These are individual cases, not a verdict on all users.

I've been using this app for years. It works and has great quality. Dropbox functionality is broken - it gets stuck when initiating uploading. When I try to sign out of Dropbox in the app, it tells me I've signed out successfully over and over again. It does this same thing for every cloud service.
What the heck is going on with the Apple Watch syncing… Recordings from the watch go on to the phone whenever they feel like it… If ever at all!
It's nice that this app has a feature to record on my watch, but I can't figure out how to transfer it to my phone, which makes the watch app kind of useless.
