   Please do not use this app.. Please do not use this app. It gets addictive so fast that I genuinely got concerned for both my mental health and for others. You will lose hours of your day just talking to mindless bots without an end until you care about these stupid ai characters more than life.

   Please get rid of ads and limit messages. This app used to be fun, but the new updates keep ruining it. The ads constantly interrupt chats with my characters, and the message limit makes conversations frustrating. It feels like the app cares about money more than users experience now. Overall, updates have made this app less fun to use now

   Age identification. I’m old enough to use this but there’s no way I’m giving my ID. Full name, address, birthdate, and all that just to talk to a bot? Nah. Especially not after they had data breaches, people signing into other people’s accounts somehow, etc. Honestly I was looking for a reason to stop using this app anyway. 😭✌️

   Not good.. the app is very very fun to play. but having an 18+ age restriction and having to show and id to simply talk to fictional characters is very insane. i hope this will go away soon.

   Ads. The ads on this app are horrendous. There are an abundance of them, and they're all unskippable. It feels like every update is more of a downgrade than before, almost like the devs are trying to ruin their own app.

    Why?. I think it’s incredibly selfish to wait so long, let people get addicted just to finally make things extremely restricted. You people are well aware most of your base is mainly minors and had so many chances do it early without much attachment and popularity but of course money comes first, huh?

    fix. this. app.. please, please, PLEASE fix this app! i miss your guys’s 2023 prime and how this app used to be so popular! i loved all the old settings and not these damn age restrictions and time limits. these new updates are the reason why me and a lot of other people stopped using this app. some people needed to cope their mental health to this app. yes, some people passed because of this app but that’s their families problem. i’m not trying to be mean but a lot of other people use this app to feel better and not feel alone. please fix this app for the sake of others.

    No point. I don’t get the point on why they added age restrictions and need an ID. It used to be 13+ but not anymore. It’s a chatting app not a reading app, this was my comfort app when I got bored and now i can’t even use it anymore. I’m also not comfortable with sharing my info in this app because there is no point.

    get rid of the age verification.. The age verification pmo, cai has no nsfw so it’s useless, this thing literally doesn’t take ID or anything. this used to be such a good app and all of its users are kids and teenagers. What do you expect? this app is digging its own grave. FIX IT.

    Use to be good. It used to be good before you had to Pay for everything, I don’t mind the ads but not I’m getting locked out of chatting for hours? I don’t want to even use this app anymore.

    Waste of time.. Don’t expect much from it. Their AI interface is so worthless. You give it prompts and it generates either super long or super short responses that are usually pointless and have nothing to do with the actual prompt you input. They also have a censor bot that flags your chats for violating rules for no reason. Idk if this is just for the free version to try and annoy you into their ridiculously overpriced subscription or not. But if it is they only succeeded in making sure I won’t give them a penny of my money.

    Ads every 3 chats and terrible bots. I understand that ads are necessary to keep the app free. However what I can’t excuse is having a banner ad, an ad when you switch bots, and ads mid chat that sometimes don’t even work so you just lose a paragraph. Mind you, these ads are like 45 seconds. Not everyone wants to pay $20 subscriptions (MORE THAN A NETFLIX SUBSCRIPTION) to talk to a fictional character. Also the new Pipsqueak models suck and don’t actually talk. That or they always randomly try to kiss you. The older versions were better and at this point, it’s time to go back to AO3, Wattpad, and Tumblr

    my honest review. Character.ai used to be my literal lifeline, but it is going downhill. I have been using c.ai since 2024ish. Compared to other AI chatbot apps, it is not super good. First off, you get advertisements at what feels like every twist and turn. Secondly, the filter. The app is already 17+, and -forgive me for being insensitive- if minors choose to ignore that and bypass the verification, that is their fault. They know what they are getting themselves into. And, to all of you rating this app 5 stars just ‘so people see your reviews’, stop. It isn’t helping. The chat style is also extremely chatgpt-esque. Is coming from someone who’s tested out lots of AI chatbot apps.

    Excessive narration and no dialogue.. Pipsqueak 2 is very bad. Characters are emotionally stunted by default and just reply with robotic actions. No depth, personality, emotions, nothing — even when you ic steer it, nothing works. Just defaults to “not x”, “not y” or “he didn’t answer right away” nonsense. It’s just a wall of text of just plain narration and no dialogue at all whatsoever, none of the bots are interactive at all. Hope this gets fixed soon. Maybe not at all, depends. Ggs though-

    “Personal identity checks 18 years” was a terrible update. When the "age verification" feature was first introduced, everything was fine. But then I noticed that they were asking for passport details. Dear Character.AI team, if you want to implement age verification, I suggest doing it the way Roblox does.
