   Unreasonable rate hikes. It used to be a nice app. Now that it has been bought out several times, it’s riddled with AI and they want to charge me $250/yr. For a notes app 😂

   Gradual Degradation of Free Version. This app used to be a good free notes app - now every time I open it I am prompted with multiple menus and sometimes even video advertisements trying to get me to upgrade to premium even though I am fine working within the limits of the free version. I’m tired of having to click through 4 screens to open the app.

   Used to be free. Evernote used to be free but I had to sign up for a free trial just to access my old notes and then cancel the trial so I wouldn’t be charged. Good thing I migrated over to Apple Notes as this app’s days are numbered.

   Ridiculous Increased Rates. I am a 15+ year user that will be canceling my membership. It was already too expensive for the out of date features, but the new almost doubling of fees is ridiculous.

   Stop!!!!!. Note/update - in an attempt to make this use by use review pop up stop, I deleted the app and reinstalled it. No luck. I’ve been using Evernote since around 2010. It’s had improvements over the years. Been bought and sold by different owners. Changes made. Price has gone up as has the price for everything else. Features come. Features go. This year the price went from $150 a year to $260 a year. This for a bunch of features that were already deployed for the most part and that I hadn’t used quite frankly. Obviously, I’m invested in the technology since I’ve used it for 16 years. Not anxious to have to move everything to some other platform. One of the most annoying things recently is that EVERY time I open the app it pops up a request for me to submit a review. This happens right as I am locating the note that I need to retrieve information from or in the middle of a dictating a new note. It’s incredibly annoying. Really makes me wonder if the people who develop these software tools actually use them personally.

   Buggy EVERNOTE. I hate the fact that EVERNOTE no longer lists automatically in Reverse chronological order. If you set it to do that, you have to do it all over again over and over and over and over again. Just wastes my time a lot. Also, the search engine is buggy. Sometimes it fails to find words that are present in Evernote, which I’m able to find through other more laborious methods. When using Evernote for a decade, and it keeps getting worse because of the difficulty of finding the mini keywords that I have been inserting in my documents for the ticket. I use it in android, windows, and iPad. I will probably switch to OneNote or something similar.

    Terrible Choice. Evernote used to be my number one go to solution allowing multi-device sync for free. Over the years they kept reducing the number of devices you can sync with and now you cannot sync with ANY device. They call it, deviously, “1-device sync”, but that’s very misleading, you cannot sync with any at all. One-device sync means you have the primary method + one device, but that’s not the case here. It’s more like “access from a single device only”. I have switched to many other better alternatives like Obsidian Notes and Notesnook. I’m out of Evernote, for me it has become “Nevernote”. Companies destroy their own business through greed and a policy to constantly displease their customers.

    Loved it until it doubled in price. Was a subscriber for 12 years until last night. Can’t swing $270 for a virtual note pad. I didn’t need all the AI stuff, just my notes. It’s disappointing to feel such broken trust in a product.

    No Customer Support for Paid Users. NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT Haven’t been able to use a desktop or web version for over a year. Can’t contact support because the desktop app never works. Emails are ignored and new company just keeps shoving more AI garbage in the app. Price hike is ridiculous and I will be moving to another service. I don’t mind paying for a good product, but Bending Spoons has ruined what used to be a great service.

    Money Grubbing. Already a paying customer. Every time I modify a note it sends pop-ups asking for more expensive subscription. Super annoying and not needed since my current account has everything I need.

    Used to be good. It slices, it dices, it’s a to do list, a calendar, AI AI AI, bla bla bla. Oh .et us tell you about the new features in this handy list YOU MUST CLICK THROUGH. Was break back when it quickly and efficiently allowed clipping. Now it sometimes takes 15 seconds just to start up before I can use it. Sad

    Prices keep going up. prices keep jumping each year by about 50%. i put up with the huge price jump last year to $130 but this year it jumped to $250. i am transitioning to UpNote

    Used to be cool. I have been a paid subscriber for more than 15 years. I was an enthusiastic evangelist for a long time, but not anymore. I have only 8,452 notes with 16,129 attachments. I am not a big volume user. They just jacked up my annual plan to around $250 per year. When I complained, all i got was a series of bland, ai-generated slop responses. Evernote used to be a community of cool, geekish folks, now it is just a faceless money-sucking machine.

    I really dislike Evernote, but have to use it for work. As time has gone on.. ever know makes it harder and harder to find the skip button when they’re trying to sell you premium. They make it harder and harder to navigate away from the app when clicking on links…. And all around it is a pain. It’s like the developers have ever know. Want you to never leave the app use another app or utilize the free version… And worse yet —once you have create 50 notebooks It says you have reached your limit… you can’t delete notebooks in order to make new ones. You can’t do anything. Once you hit your limit, they make sure that the app is a lobotomized vegetable for you.

    Too expensive. I understand that companies need to profit. However, the price they charge is excessive for what’s offered. I think Evernote should do away with the AI features if it’s driving the subscription cost to $250 per year. One may as well just pay for Microsoft Office at that point. There are better alternatives like Bear and Notion with robust free tiers and reasonably priced pro subscriptions.

    CAN”T HANDLE SIMPLE SPELL CHECK!. Come on man! My first grade grand son can spell better than the app. Such a basic function overlooked for all the expensive overbuilt BS. I was amongst the first 100K users, the they sold out. From $69 to $99, $149 to $249 at light speed. I get it, who needs spelling when you have AI. The only thing keeping this app alive is how difficult they make it to migrate your entire library. It’s like they’re just holding you hostage. This is my last year. I’ll spend a lot of time to replace this POS but in the end it will be worth it!

    Unauthorized charges. They started charging me for an advanced plan without warning or authorization. They are also hiding the billing page from me so I can’t change my plan. I can’t believe they are resorting to such shady dark patterns.
