Poorly designed map. Whoever designed this app clearly never uses it themselves. Whenever I try to zoom in or out, the map always thinks I’m trying to ping a place on the map. It was so frustrating that it made me delete this app. Terrible user experience. I shouldn’t have to fight with the app to zoom into a place. The entire point of this app is to find places to fish, which takes a lot of map manipulation. If the app constantly thinks I’m trying to ping something, then I cannot see what it is that I’m trying to do. And on top of that, the paywall is awful. Im so sick of apps constantly trying to take pennies from its users. Im fairly certain if I paid for this app, the problems I have with this user experience would probably go away. But that itself makes me never want to pay a cent to this company. The creators of this app couldn’t care less about anyone fishing. I would be willing to bet that the people in charge of this app or project have never even casted a fishing lure before.

Terrible. This was absolutely terrible they should not have an age restriction for asking dumb fishing questions
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Pointless. So you can see tiny thumbnails of people's catch, that's it. Everything else requires a subscription, no thanks.

You have to pay to see anything. I can’t even look at people who have caught fish because if I want to see that I have to get pro. Every thing you want to see, you will probably get a thing that pops up saying “ bait guide shows you what lures work right now. Yearly pro………$7.00 mo” I’m not saying it’s expensive, I’m just saying don’t get this app if you’re not going to use it that much.

Greedy paywall. Everything is behind a paywall when it didn’t used to be!! Can’t even see the pictures people posted.

Money money money. Genuinely cannot access any helpful information without giving them money
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Greedy Devs. Loved using the app before. Now everything is behind a paywall, and I mean EVERYTHING. Not worth using anymore. I’m not going to pay $80 for what was once almost completely free. Ridiculous. The devs probably don’t even fish and if they do, I hope they snag their most expensive lures on every cast.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Pay to play. Literally can’t use 90% of the app’s features with paying a subscription
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Pop up ads make it unusable. Pop ups to upgrade to paid version occur every few seconds, making this app unusable unless you pay.

e. limited free access
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Impossible to use. Locks everything behind a paywall. Functionally useless without coughing up money. Sad! “Some of our features are extra complex and require more resources to maintain which therefore has to be a part of the Fishbrain Pro package” Not true, because viewing individual catches was free previously. As a software engineer, I know this feature is trivial to maintain and not complex at all. It’s a few REST endpoints and SQL queries. “catch photos are still viewable from the map” That’s… not helpful at all.

Money hungry app. There’s way too many pay to use features on this app, just full of ads pushing you to buy their premium version. I even submitted a new species at a location and they didn’t update it after weeks. Waste of time and glad I waited to see if it’s even worth paying for.

Literally unusable without money. The app is just so money hungry, it’s sad cuz when it first came out it was a good app and it would show you most information on body’s of water. But now days you’ll be lucky to see more than three pictures of the fish from the body of water. It’s truly sad.

Greedy. Used to have great features for free but they got greedy and make you pay for base features which used to be free

Shouldn’t need to pay. Trash
- ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific
To many errors. When I try to log a catch I can’t verify the species or give a location. It says try later and I have tried weeks later still not fixed.

Too much money. You have to spend money to get everything I get the stuff they have in their ads

why freshwater fish in my feed?. I don’t understand why fishbrain shows me largemouth bass at packery channel in Corpus and then shows bite times for fresh water species - and pics of fresh water catches it bores/complicates app me to get around freshwater results. I have done apps in the past don’t understand it l. My only explanation not developed by ppl who fish in the “real” just software nerds (like I was lol) trying to sell engagements. Hard to customize for my purposes/experiences.
- ★★★★★trial charges and refunds
Stole my money. I did the 3day free trial and the next thing I know it took 88 dollars out of my account and I’m not getting my refund

Bad. Got to have pro to do anything really annoying
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Nah. All useful information and features locked behind an insanely expensive paywall

Just another. Download the app, forced to take a free trial just to explore the app. I know, people gotta make money somehow. What upsets me is labeling private fishing spots as public, houses all the way around them, no way for public to access. You can even google to see if that spot is public, and it’s not. Pretty crazy, glad I did research before going and trespassing off falsified information.

'. App trash have to pay mostly for every thing.

Tired of being prompted to buy upgrade. Having a to close multiple prompts to buy the premium version is bad UI.

They got rid of the largemouth prediction thing for the free version fts. This all sucks now

It’s Not Free Just Free Trial. Advisement said the app was free but when I opened it up it wouldn’t let me do anything unless I chose a plan and entered my credit card information even if I just wanted a 3 day trial. To me free means free and not free to download and free to try. I pay enough as it is. They should at the very least offer an Ad based version like a lot of other apps. To me this was false advertising.

$80 a year. Come on, $80 a year, for public weather forecasts and fishing locations! Don’t bother downloading unless you want to pay monthly
- ★★★★★inaccurate results and incorrect data
Inaccurate. There is inadequate fact checking of reported public versus private waterways. There is a private property pond and stream near me that Fishbrain has listed as public creating confusion, trespassing offenses, and police involvement. This was reported to Fishbrain and not corrected.
