App doesn’t work. I create my route and it doesn’t save it on iPhone. I start a route in Apple Watch and it doesn’t save on iPhone. I have had this problem for years . This app simply doesn’t work at all

Customer Service. Honestly, a really good map. But I had issues over many months and reached out to customer service a few times. They didn’t respond once. I guess they built and app and called it done. Very poor representation on their part.

Not Efficient. The app claimed that (walking we would go in a strait line, disregarding trails, paths, roads or entire bodies of water. What was 3 miles dimpled as 1.5.. if we walked over a lake. Rendered useless

Seems entirely broken. Have had this app for about a month and have used it and was quite pleased with it during the free trial. The turn by turn navigation was fantastic as was the route planning. Battery life seemed reasonable while using the app. Everything lined up and I decided to get the subscription. Just days into the subscription it started to be harder to draw routes and especially edit them. Still workable. Then it started to really get whacky when I tried to add even a few hundred feet to a trail. It would make it loop around the whole park and add miles often as the crow flies over terrain and across water. Then the footpaths/trails disappeared all-together. Trails do not even show in most cases. Completely breaking the entire functionality. I was looking at a specific trail and making a route, reopened the app later in the day to finish and the trail had disappeared. I started looking around and all the trails had disappeared in all of the state parks and national forests even. Only paved paths show, and I cannot even map routes on those. The actual lines that used to show trails are gone. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I restarted it. I emailed the developer days ago. Nothing. I will update this if it gets fixed. But, it is broken as it stands.

1 Star app. App is so garbage it just does whatever it wants when your trying to build a path
- ★★★★★a needed feature is missing
So confusing. I’m just looking for a simple app that tracks how far I walk. This has not been the most user friendly to try and figure out how to just have it track where I’m walking. I’ve gone out several times, tried to have to map my route only to have gone for over 2 miles and it did nothing. Should need a full user guide to do a simple task

Did developers abandon this app?. Great idea for an app but the sync to apple watch feature only works about 20% of the time for me. Some routes sync, most don’t 🤷🏾♂️

Watch navigation stopped working. I purchased a subscription to this app because it was formerly considered the best hiking navigation for the Apple Watch Ultra. I imported GPX tracks from AllTrails, then used Footpath from my watch on the trail. Now hikes will no longer launch on my watch from Footpath, although I’m doing the same thing. I waited a month to see if they would fix it but they haven’t, so I cancelled my subscription, got one for AllTrails, and will be using their functional watch app for hiking navigation. It’s not as good as Footpath used to be on the watch, but it’s better than what it now offers - nothing.

Really hard to edit. Extremely hard to edit a track, it would be nice to edit this on a windows desktop, I’m working on an iPad and it really makes life difficult.

Temperamental. Your satélite maps needs updating as they are 6 months behind most maps on Google maps. You software is also quite temperamental around sidewalks and beaches. I want to like it but you refuse to fix it.

Couldn't bring up maps on my final ascent. After transitioning to booting on my ski trip yesterday, the action button would no longer display the map on my watch. Either the Footpath app crashed or it auto paused (perhaps since booting up a 45 degree plus slope would appear as no movement?). After a few desperate attempts to get mapping working I realized that somehow Footpath got paused, but even after unpausing I couldn't get the action button to bring up maps. Luckily my ski partners Garmin Fenix guided us correctly between perilous cliff bands on our descent. Unfortunately, these Apple watch "Ultras" don't seem to live up to their name. I have lost trust in these devices being able to safely guide me in the backcountry. Luckily I wasn't on a remote peak, only 4 or so miles from our car, and my partner's watch saved us from accident turning down onto a cliff.

A good app as long as you stay on a road.. I am looking for an app to use for hiking. Most important to me is the ability to create a route, and to follow that route. I love having the ability to define a route with my fingertip. However, the app is clearly better suited for on-road than off-road use. The search function can locate streets but not hiking trails. You can have a map called up that displays the name of the trail on it. Search for that trail name, and the app cannot find it! I sent an email 2 weeks ago to the app support, I explained the problem, and asked if I was doing something wrong. I explained I assessing the free version of the app to see if I should become a subscriber. I never received a response to this simple question. It begs the question, if the developer is unwilling to answer a question posed by someone considering becoming a paying customer, what will service be like once they have my money? I note in the Apple apps Ratings and Review section, there are lots of comments but very few developer responses. Again, this raises questions about the level of support one can expect once your money has left your pocket. Given my experience so far, although I like the app, the risk seems too great to commit to a subscription.

Incorrect distance calculation. I mapped out a run for 13.2 miles. I followed the path while using another app (MapMyRun) I have used on many 10k, half marathons, and marathons. The recorded distance (10.75 miles) ended up being 2.5 miles short of the mapped route on Footpath. I also compared my distance on my FitBit GPS. It matched MapMyRun and NOT Footpath. I then did my best to map the distance on Google maps on a laptop. That distance again matched everything EXCEPT Footpath. Lastly, I drove the route in my car (2023 vehicle) after i reset the miles tracker. It matched my FitBit and MapMyRun. Please note, I downloaded the app on 9/15/23. I will have to assume I have the latest version. I don’t have the latest phone, but I would assume since I am able to install the app, my phone version is fine. iPhone 12 Pro iOS 16.6.1

Routes Through Buildings. This app often routes a straight line from origin to destination where you’d have to be magic to actually walk through walls and buildings. Once it starts doing this you have to close out of the app and start over because it will continue to straight line every point you put on your route. (Snap to map is turned on). Also when the app is mostly working properly, it does route you down the middle of the roads rather than following sidewalks and crosswalks. The result is that it will assume you would cross busy and complex intersections like you were in a car instead of going to the nearest crosswalk.

bru. legit pay to use i cant even send a route to my watch without it charging me

Tracking. Does not show mph, pace, hood for drawing a route and that’s about it

Useless for Apple Watch. I was hoping that I could use this app on my Apple Watch without taking my iPhone with me. While I could send a preprogrammed route to my watch, the app does not reroute if you take a wrong turn. I might as well write the directions on a piece of paper.

My direction. When I tap on arrow icon, to lock my direction/rotation, so map is rotated while I’m riding my bike. For the 60% of my route it’s working okay, showing/rotating map accordingly my actual phone(actual me on bike) rotation, but on all other cases it’s showing me as 90 degrees rotated in a wrong way, sometimes even upside down. In usual navigation apps, for example maps.me or even google maps this works without such problems. 2. Another big problem - it’s showing my location at on map with 3-5 seconds delay, so when I ride on place and already actually there - where I have to turn and I actually see it - this app is showing me as I still located behind/before/still going. So I have to stop and wait a bit, so it will update my real position. This is really awkward. All this should be implemented as in other navigation apps, they do a lot of tricks to prevent all such behavior and problems. Without this improvements this app doesn’t deserve any paid options. I have offline maps in other free apps and can navigate gpx routes for free to, which this glitchy app don’t do. So no sense to pay at all.

Doesn’t work. No map with streets loads and GPS puts me in the middle of the water next to my apartment instead of on land.

Waste of time. I tried three different hikes in Lake Tahoe area. All three were non-existent trail heads. I don’t know who dreams of these trails but footpath’s is 0 for 3. I quit!

New update. The new update won’t let me see the whole screen while I’m trying to GPS my route and start my workout! Fix it please!!
