   broken, useless. helped to memorize hiragana. now when i switch to katakana, it does not exist. i can't get the app to quiz me on the katakana. even when i am doing a custom "katakana only" quiz, i will only get hiragana characters to practice. i'm uninstalling now, as it has no practical use for me anymore.

   Good but abandoned. It’s a great app that has helped me learn the kana but the smart quizzes just don’t work they never use katakana and only use hiragana and they rarely follow the category and never actually put in low scoreing kana and it just doesn’t work. And it appears they don’t care as this bug has been a problem for over a year and a half.

   Quizzes completely broken. Non of the “smart quiz” options work correctly. I only get the same 40 characters that have streaks of 20+ when I have 100s that only had a streak of 1 or two. Since this app doesn’t show you the kana you actually need to learn it’s effectively useless. I checked the custom quiz scope to see if that would fix it but it did not. It’s not even showing me any katakana when most of those are the lowest score and streak characters I have.

   No Instructions. Very difficult to navigate and use this app. No instructions on how to use, you have to hunt and peck and try to figure things out.

   Really hard for a beginner. Not sure if I just haven’t figured out the app or what, but it seems that some instructions and explanations would help me to know what I am being quizzed on. Guessing doesn’t seem to work and moving on from a wrong answer without explaining and helping me learn to correctly identify characters would be great.

   Great app buttt. The actual content of the app is minimal but easy to learn and very helpful. The only reason I’m writing this is because the app CONSTANTLY shuts off when doing a quiz and doesn’t save your place I had this happen multiple times in a day to the point I view as a major red flag

   Buggy Mess. I cannot do anything for more than 3 minutes without the app crashing, it’s literally unusable.

    Not working for me. Maybe it’s something I’m doing wrong but after I draw the symbol and click the check mark the app doesn’t do anything.. I tried clicking the check mark several times after retracing the symbol.

    Katakana is not tested. I really liked this app a lot when I first started using it. However, after using it for several months, it suddenly stopped testing me on katakana at all, even when I create a custom quiz to only test katakana. Therefore this app is really just for learning hiragana unless they fix this bug. Note that this bug has gone unfixed for at least a year (probably longer). A careful look at this app’s ratings reveals that many other users are having the same problem, which evidently continues to be ignored by the app developers. One star rating due to the app only providing 1 out of 2 intended functionalities.

    Worked well…. Until it crashing. Worked well for the first 46 hiragana, but when trying to quiz for all hiragana, app crashes. Would be awesome if it didn’t crash.

    great for Japanese class :D. i really love this app! only thing is, custom quizzes would be great, when your learning a certain set of hirigana. great work regardless

    it’s good, but the indicator needs a lot of work. i enjoy using this app to practice my handwriting, but the grading is extremely annoying. i think most of the hiragana are fine, but almost none of the katakana can correctly indicate when i correctly write them. there have been times where i not only wrote something correctly but i was also within the stroke guide and it still needed me to mark myself as correct. on the other hand, the indicator is WAY too accepting for hiragana writing. i’ve had it mark my answer as correct before i could even finish writing and then sometimes i’ll finish and it’ll actually stop recognizing it as correct obviously you can mark your own answers so it isn’t a big deal if it doesn’t mark you as correct itself, but it is a problem if someone is writing hiragana and being incorrectly marked as correct for studying, it’s good, but it needs work

    Its OK. luckily its free and it doesn’t have a limit but I feel like its missing something. They should add something that gives a spark or makes it funner.

    Great app when functional. The app is fantastic, it has been my primary source for writing practice, however there seems to be a bug that makes the app regularly crash while mid-quiz. Rarely can I get through even a 30 question quiz without the app crashing, causing much frustration. It’s great when it works, though!

    Great app. This help really helped me learn Hiragana quickly. Unfortunately, it doesn’t quiz you on Katakana from Smart Quiz. It would be 5 stars if that worked.

    Plz solve the problem. Katakana can’t be detected if it’s right or not….if i stroke for a while (max 10 stroke) the app stops working…overall it’s good plz solve it asap

    Amazing but flawed. I have used this app for a few months now, but I still cannot confidently recommend it for one reason: you cannot learn hiragana and katakana at the same time within this app. Let’s cover the good: the quizzes are simply formatted, there are barely any advertisements (huge for a free app!), and there are many tools to adjust difficulty and learning pace. There’s also unobtrusive, optional notifications, where you get to specify what time is most convenient to be reminded. All of these are amazing for keeping oneself on track! If you select both alphabets to be quizzed on, it will only show you hiragana. What’s more, if you wish to switch to katana, you need to reset your quiz settings from inside a hard-to-reach menu. Even if you only select katakana after taking a quiz with any hiragana, the quiz will only show you hiragana! This is a frustrating bug that I hope gets fixed.

    Great idea, bad execution. The drawing feature saved my first drawing, but since then it hasnt saved a single one. When I go to make a list to practice, it circles but doesnt generate a list even after a few minutes. Kind of unusable.

    Great, but …. There seems to be a bug in the current version. Smart quizzes never have katakana, and once you do a smart quiz, custom quizzes refuse to show katakana as well. You fall into a state where you can only practice hiragana until you kill and restart the app.

    Started off good, then got buggy. I really liked this app at first. It was so helpful as a leaning tool. But as I used it more and more, it started to get buggy. The “smart quizzes” based on streak or score won’t give me any katakana, only hiragana. So it’s hard to focus on where I’m weak. Before that, I knew I had hiragana cards with streaks of 0-3, but smart quiz kept giving me cards where I had streaks of 8 or more. I figured a way around that one by doing only writing quizzes (where most of my 0-3s were), but I can’t find a way to make smart quizzes ask me any katakana. I’m tempted to uninstall the app and start over to see if removing the history will help, but then I’ll lose all my stats! It’s a tough choice, and I don’t even know if it’ll work.

    Really good initially but not suitable for advanced users. From my experience initially I really liked the app and made some progress steadily but later when I wanted to improve my katakana I couldn’t set practice/quizzes for only katakana and also lowest scored, reviewed actually didn’t feel like lowest scored or reviewed ones felt quite the opposite actually
