   Can’t find my friend. Couldn’t find an option to find my friends, it didn’t find them in my contacts and there are no other ways. Some menus don’t have an option to exit them, the only way out is to close the app. Unusable messenger

   Really, hiding ads as DM?. I don’t know who approved it. But it’s crazy that they inject ads into your DMs but make it look like someone messaged you. Kakao already takes up 1/3 of the DM space for their banner ads. But this is a new level of invasive ads placements. Better to just delete the app and move to another platform.

   Stop posting my updates. It feels gross that I have to be on a platform that mandates announcing all my updates to all friends. No SNS service do this and no SNS that do that will survive

   Worst App EVER. This is the absolute worst app I’ve ever had the displeasure of trying to use. I believe it’s a scam used to collect personal information of users worldwide without providing any service to them whatsoever. If you don’t live in Korea, don’t even bother trying to use it. I downloaded it, created an account added one contact, my mom who lives in Korea. I live in the U.S. Verified my phone number and two emails like the app prompted me to do and then tried to send my mom a message and I immediately got a pop up that said I couldn’t use this feature unless I completed a “Talk Safety Pass”. There was no link or instructions on how to do that so I had to figure it out on my own. Once I did that, it said I can’t complete that without a valid Korean phone number. How could anyone living outside of Korea be expected to have that?! I contacted customer service and they just sent me some standard boiler automated response that basically said, yeah we can’t help you b/c everything is automated. I’ve never been so frustrated with an app in my whole life. If anything the app itself is the real scam. They are given access to all of your information through the sign up process and then the app doesn’t even work - so they get all of your information for nothing!! Talk about a scam!! I’d give this horrendous app no stars if possible! It’s completely useless and should be investigated as a phishing scam!!

    Не проходит верификацию в России. Сегодня не получилось пройти верификацию по смс в России. Раньше смс отправлялись на заграничный номер, теперь на номера Российских операторов. В итоге, после отправки автоматического текстового смс, я получаю «Сбой при отправке. Сообщение не отправлено». Как это понимать и что делать? Как установить приложение? I can't register in Russia – I can't pass SMS verification in Russia. To clarify, the automated phone numbers used to send SMS are registered in Russia. SMS messages aren't arriving to these numbers – delivery failed. What should I do? Help!

    Questionable purpose. A lot of recent reviews are suspect. This app is a necessity and is ‘entitled’ to a lot of required systems within South Korea. Privacy is an issue on social media sites. This app has become a circus without a purpose for the user. It obviously has become platform to profit off of users information and or use. I use to use it to communicate and I felt pretty confident with privacy and safety for the groups I was involved with. Not so much now. It’s amazing that this app has basically remained the same since a few months ago, but has garnered higher ratings. Very disappointing Kakao.

    돈 좋다 이말이야. 근데 너 그냥 메신저야.. 최근 긍정적리뷰들 보면 솔직히 이해 안됨. 오랫동안 사용해온 사용자라면 현재 UX 상태가 얼마나 실망스러운지 알 텐데? 광고로 번 돈 가짜리뷰에쓰나 가장 큰 문제는 광고임. 제발 광고 좀 어떻게 해줘요. 한국에서는 카카오 생태계가 잘 구축되어 있기 때문에 어느 정도 광고는 이해함. 하지만 미국에서도 광고를 이렇게까지 노출하면서 사용자 경험과 메신저 본연의 기능까지 희생할 필요가 있나? 한국에 사는 가족/친구들 때문에 어쩔수없이 사용하긴할건데 진짜 싫다.

    인스타 따라하는 데 혈안된 담당자가 있습니까?. 매번 업데이트할 때마다. 숏츠 쓸데없는 기능인데 추가한 것도 그렇고, 친구 업데이트 내용을 피드로 확인하게 바꿔버린 것도 그렇고 자꾸 소셜미디어처럼 행동하려는 게 아니꼬왔습니다. 카카오톡은 전국민이 사적 소통 외에도 공적으로도 사용하는 메신저 어플인데 말가잖은 소셜미디어 기능을 자꾸만 추가하는 것은 부적절할 뿐만 아니라 메신저로서 기능과 효율, 이용편의를 저하시킵니다. 게다가 이번 업데이트를 톨해 메신저에서 빠르게 반응할 수 있는 이모티콘의 종류를 대폭 늘렸더군요? 너무 많은 초이스는 오히려 대화의 신속함에 장애가 됩니다. 게다가 이렇게 많은 이모티콘 중 하나를 골라서 반응을 표시하게 하는 건 인스타그램의 인터페이스를 거의 따라한 방식이죠. 지금 담당자 분들이 카카오톡이 실질적으로 어떤 목적으로 사용되고, 그 목적에 따라 어떠한 편의성을 가져야 하는지에 대해 단단히 착각하고 계신 것 같습니다. 혹, 인스타그램이 되기를 표방하는 담당자가 있습니까? 왜 그런 목표를 가지게 됐습니까? 인스타그램퍼럼 작동하는 메신저를 일상적인 대화와 업무상 신속한 대화의 목적으로 사람들이 사용하는 것을 정말 즐긴다고 생각하십니까? 어플의 목적과 사용자를 충분히 고려하신 판단이 맞습니까? 대세인 타앱을 그저 모방하고 계신 것은 아닙니까? 불필요한 기능 추가에 혈안되어서 카카오톡의 본기능과 목적이 오히려 퇴색되도록 하는 이 업데이트들에 대한 아이디어를 내고 이를 통과시키는 담당자들은 도대체 누구입니까?

    Buggy app. Such a buggy app. I’ve been seeing an issue for months and months where a contact’s profile keeps showing the wrong name! And interestingly, the wrong name has been applied to multiple contacts. PLEASE fix this. Additionally I’ve never used a service where you couldn’t change your email address. What a joke!

    New update is not good. I’ve used kakaotalk for several years to communicate with friends and korean teachers. i lost my first account after not using it for a year, but then tried to re-sign up and i wasn’t able to connect my previous email so i ended up using my work email. with the new update, it logged me out and made it hard to login. while i do like the added protection and security it’s to the point the person who actually owns the account cannot log back in.

    진짜 좋은데 이것만 추가되면!🥺. 이 앱 진짜 좋은데.. 어떤 버전으로 업데이트 하든 펑 작성할 수 있고 노래도 프로필에 놓을 수 있으면 좋을거같아요ㅎㅎ 그런 부분만 빼면 완벽한 앱이라고 생각해요ᄒᄒ

    Good, but time sensitive.. I love this app! So much u can personalize about it and very easy to learn. It’s like Korean instagram but for friends only. However, if you do not at least open the app every 2-3 days, it deletes all unread messages. (Though the sender will never be notified of this because all messages are still visible on their end). This has created a problem for me on multiple occasions when busy with school or work or traveling without cell service. Wish they would fix this minor issue.

    Translation. I wish there was a button or way to change all the incoming texts to English to make it faster to communicate. Holding each message and then pressing the translate button seems like too much steps to reply back to the person I’m texting.
