   Started great but development slowed down. I was hoping that this app would grow faster, but it hasn't added many features during the past year. Update: It seems the developer has lost interest, and there are hardly any updates, with no new features added. The lifetime purchase was a waste of money.

   Doesn’t show any of my files in my drive.. I go to my drive and it says there’s 0 files in it every time. Which is wrong since I know it has files. Can’t edit any of my stuff so what’s the use.

   Awkward, Buggy, Incorrect. Adding to the review below. Export no longer works. Adding to the review below. There's nothing more irritating in markdown editors than auto-numbering that then fails. The logic of using: 1. 1. 1. 1. is that one could move items around and the parser will render the numbering correctly. By auto-numbering and incorrectly not updating numbers as list items are moved around, deleted, added, the list numbers incorrectly. To make matters worse, if you do use the correct markdown numbering scheme, the developer ignores the tabbed values, removes any nesting, and simply sequences the entire list 1. 2. 3. etc. I've provided the developer with a list of issues and the developer has ignored every single one. --- After providing feedback to the developer and watching the developer continue expand the breadth of the app, but fails to focus on refining the app. Now that Notebox can export, am switching over.

   Not free at all. There is a steep learning curve, and it is rather buggy, but I dealt with it because of promises of it being at least partly free. After an update, it is all just nags for money. Every button, everything. Open a file on you iPad, and it diverts to this app, shows up, asks for money, and closes it. They have to tease you by showing it for a moment, too. So, if you want a buggy text editor without copy, paste, text file support, or find, here it is. Hopefully, this review goes through. I’ve tried to post a negative review many times for months, but they never show. I have given reviews of other apps, so I guess it’s this app only. Anyway, can’t stand fighting this app every time I open a text file. Good riddens.

   First Impression left me at Meh. I'm new to Macs and until booting up this 2017 Air, I'd never before even heard of Taio. Since it's a built-in app, however, I figured I'd scope it out to see what use I can get from it. Apparently none unless I pay for the premium/pro upgrade. Of course, figures.... So far I've been unable to really understand the purposes of this app, much less make any real progress on anything due to the majority of clickable icons being reserved for paid users only. Maybe I failed to give Taio a fair shot. Maybe I've seen more than enough to be a qualified user tester. I don't know for sure, but one thing I DO know is that I will be unlikely to utilize this app again in future, probably will eventually attempt various ways to delete it from clogging up my Mac's elderly arteries. Sorry guys, better luck next time?

   Too complicated. I was looking for an outlining, folding, editor for markdown. I managed to get a few lines of markdown written in Taio but then I couldn’t find a “save as…” command or even an “move…” command. So… no way to save it in my project directory. At this point I gave up. Simple things should be simple, especially on a Mac. It’s possible that this is a fine tool but it clearly requires FAR more learning curve than I’m up for. If I’m going to spend that much time and effort learning something new I may as well go back to emacs and write my own editing mode.

    Crashing constantly. It seems like it can do what I need it to, but it crashes almost instantly when using. So, I guess 2 stars cause I’m pretty sure it’s possible to use it well considering the good reviews, but in its current form it can’t be used by me at least.

    从后台切换到前台出现卡住，无法操作近20秒. App功能比较好用 简洁，但有个问题，打开md文件，开启预览模式，然后切换至后台，打开其他app，然后将taio app切换至前台，app无法操作10多秒，然后显示预览界面，最后好像又重新加载了一次。

    Nice but developer need to fix QoL issues. I was looking for a simple markdown app that will store the file in the filesystem directly, so I could also use other apps on my notes (e.g. fsnotes, obsidians) This is a nice app but the developer needs to focus on polish the app, not adding new functionality but from a USER perspective, the QoL issues, including one commented by other about numbered list. Many are like me, use "tab" to make simple outline. The "tab" and "shift tab" functions that work pretty universal in many other note app are broken. I like the app but I just can't press the purchase button unless the developer can fix the issues.

    Nice app, but clunky. Nice editor overall, but on mac it often feels more like im interacting with an ipad app. Little things like the speed of moving the cursor when holding down the arrow keys just feel slow and off.

    Image support is broken for cloud storage. Great app. Intuitive and beautiful UI. However, the image support (display, copy-and-paste) is broken for cloud storage. I use this app with my notes in OneDrive. In iOS Files app, the OneDrive are a seperate "location". For this setup, the following scenarios are broken: ## SCENARIO 1 I have `note.md` along side `image.png`. In `note.md`, I have: ​  This image cannot be displayed in preview mode. ## SCENARIO 2 Make a screenshot and copy the image (now in iOS clipboard). In `note.md` stored in OneDrive, paste. The app generates the following line: ​  However, the assets folder doesn't seem to be created in the same directory where the `note.md` resides.

    Confusing, limited directory access. Judging by all of their glowing reviews, it is possibly that I am just not the right user for this app. As a new user, I found the app difficult. I did figure out how to create, edit and preview a markdown file, but not before running into many, many buttons, which, when clicked show a “pro only” message without telling what it does and how it woks- frustrating, confusing. It is also not immediately clear how to get in and start writing, which seems not the best for a writing app (my favorite markdown editor at the moment is typora, which is super clean, but not available for ipad). It seems taio might be doing something interesting with their clipboard feature, but I could not figure out how it works. Lastly, as others have mentioned, there seems to be no way to access files on google drive / dropbox which limits the utility of this app for my purposes.

    Promising but the sync is buggy. Like the interface but your sync engine doesn't recognize local changes and keeps bugging to merge changes as edits are made. Maybe it's a recent bug. Seems to affect files whether they are local to the iOS device or on iCloud.

    Dropbox Support. I love Taio, don’t get me wrong. But I honestly can’t use it without the support to add whole Dropbox folders into my file viewer. Dropbox is my main base of operations and I can’t afford to use the file picker every single time I want to find a file. Either that, or browse through recent ones. If I’m missing something, please let me know.

    The app is great but premium is too high. I would def pay $20 for this in a private option or something but $40 is crazy there are other options but maybe not as advanced yet but still available for a reasonable price.. if developer makes price more reasonable more people will buy, an update based payment model would be more beneficial for you.

    Faster sync than Obsidian, still feature light. I really wanted to love Obsidian. I spent several hours tweaking it and making it my own. Great plugin community, pinning, custom themes. But one of the main featuers I look for in a note-taking app is sync. I want my notes available anywhere so I can tap one in at a moment's notice! Every time I load Obsidian on my phone, it sits there and syncs for minutes at a time, and if I tell it to skip, who knows what will happen. Taio isn't instant, but it's much faster and I have confidence that my mobile notes will sync up with my desktop notes. Taio even has widgets for your iPhone lock screen! So for now, Taio is my reliable swiss army knife for notes. Would love to see tabbing work better (it just doesn't for me), as well as pinnnable tabs. I know there are "pro" features available but they haven't hit the "need to have" nerve for me yet.

    One massive deal breaker. The app is great in every way with one huge exception ( because of what I use it for). The app has a section in the sidebar called “Locations” for quick access to different locations such as iCloud and local drive. This place lets you add your own quick access locations but it does not work with other cloud providers such as OneDrive or GoogleDrive. So,if you’re purely Apple guy, get it. If your files or some of them are on non-apple platform, don’t get it.

    Great Start — Could Be Better. I've spent many hours looking for a good markdown editor that is native to Mac. I somehow stumbled upon Taio. I love the concept. It's native, integrates amazing with MacOS and iOS, and has a nice UI. However, it really needs some polishing to become a good note taking app on MacOS. I've been using Obsidian for my notes for over a year now. I love the power it offers, the plugins, the customizability, etc. However, I really don't like how much RAM it takes up, and it's just not going to be like a native app liek Taio. If Taio could even impliment some basic things I would use it over Obsidian on a daily basis, and I think a lot of other people would as well. Here are a few of my suggestions: 1. Optimize it for Mac. This could include adding things like customizable keyboard shortcuts. 2. Allow the folder view sidebar to have dropdown folders. 3. Add a command pallete for the commands. This could include the powerful Apple Shortcuts that integrate so well. 4. And an open file pallete for quick access to notes. 5. PLEASE just add a beautiful and thick cursor that matches the color scheme. For some reason this makes a huge difference. 6. The tabbing for lists is a little buggy too. Good work, devs! You made an amazing app that is already nice. I would love to see you continue development on it. I even purchased the lifetime access because I trust that you guys will make it amazing. :)

    I like it but there's a few features keeping me from switching. I love markdown, and I as a student I write many many notes, homework assignments, and documents in markdown. I really like Taio, I like how it looks, and frankly I'm not against purchasing it if it wasn't missing a few key featuers I think every markdown text editor should have: 1. Constantly updating HTML view I need to have the markdown code on the left, and the HTML viewer on the right to see what my markdown document looks like in real time. Obsidian does this, and frankly Im happy to swithc to Taio if Taio did it as well 2. Easier latex commands I'm not a fan of having to write a double $ sign to enter latex mode. Many markdown text editors do this withe a single dollar sign, and use the double dollar sign as a way to center the latex equation. As a grad student in engineering, I use latex all the time.
