  1. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Too expensive now. One price increase too many for features no one needs. Bummer.

  2. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Great App - But to Much $$. Overall, this is a well-designed app with a clean and intuitive interface. However, recent price increases have made it difficult to justify the cost, especially when there are several comparable alternatives available at a significantly lower price point. While I’ve enjoyed using it, the rising cost no longer aligns with the value provided, and I’ve decided to move on.

  3. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Just canceled. Loved the app and have used it for years ever since it was free. Loved it enough to stay with it when they went to a pay model. But no more! This last price increase is the breaking point. It’s just too much.

  4. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Money gouging. Expensive AF for simple expense forecasting

  5. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Long-time customer leaving after price increase. I’ve been a customer since the app was completely free. I stayed with them despite them moving to a subscription-based service because that’s how much value I found in using the app. However, this morning I received an email that the subscription price will be nearly doubling in a month. As much as it pains me, I will not be renewing and looking for other budget calendars. Shame that it came to this but I’m on a budget, so paying for a service to help me budget is already ironic. Bye, Dollarbird 💔

  6. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Great app w/ subscription. This is exactly what I was looking for to replace another app that is no longer available. I would give it 5 stars but I just can’t stand subscriptions. Give us the option to buy lifetime access to premium!

  7. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Paying on a budget app. Neat concept. But can only put in 3 “transactions” when you first sign on then have to pay a subscription. Other budgeting apps come free so this is a miss.

  8. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Ruined. I lived by this app forever . It was amazing and I referred multiple people. They just did an update with “auto forecast” which can’t be turned off. It is now impossible to see what you’re account will ACTUALLY look like since it auto calculates.

  9. ★★★★privacy and excessive permissions

Asks for too much data - suspicious. I will say while I’ve been a long time user and subscriber, I’m rethinking it. Every time I reopen my app and log a transaction it asks for access to all my photos. Why does a financial app need this? Invasion of privacy. I selected limit photos because there’s no reason to need all access. It’s very unpleasant and suspicious. Please remove these annoying requests that I have to dismiss every single time I open it. This has only been a thing recently. It did not used to behave this way - frustrating as heck.

  10. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Used to be free, now a subscription. I used to absolutely LOVE this app. It allowed you put in unlimited transactions and income that would show you each days remaining balance on your calendar. One day I tried adding in a transaction and I found out you now you have to pay a monthly subscription to do that. I think this is the most ridiculous thing because these apps are supposed to HELP you save money, not encourage you to spend more of it. I understand if you need more support, but if you guys absolutely needed more money, maybe instead of a subscription you can charge a one time fee or something or add advertisements. Anyways I was disappointed with this change and ended up deleting it and I downloaded a different app.

  11. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Don’t waste your time. They only allow you to add one transaction to the calendar. This app USED TO be good, now they charge you to do the bare minimum.

  12. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Other free options out there.. Other free options out there. Too many subscription apps out there. Getting tired of having to subscribe to every little thing I need to do in my life. I used to love this app. But not when the whole thing is subscription based.

  13. ★★★★the highest-value lifecycle moment

Why?. I loved using this app for everyday budgeting and for future bills that I forget to pay. But why? Why make it a subscription based product now? I do not see any need to have a subscription to an app that just tells me how much money I have and the bills coming up. I have switched to just using my phone’s calendar app to set reminders and I went back to using excel to track spending. Also the only three transactions per day thing is just dumb. Very disappointed.

  14. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Would be amazing if it worked.. I keep having glitches where I go to say... September, and see one balance, then it changes to another. Some payment, recurring bill,or income completely throws off its calculations and shows incorrect balances... Currently a discrepancy of $1,342 over 2 months. Absolutely not acceptable. I've corrected two of these glitches be removing and free adding a recurring bill twice already and I'm still in the two week TRIAL period. C'mon. I can't pay $40 for something that's going to wreck my family finances if I follow it.

  15. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

😤. I've used Dollarbird since 2013.. and I will begrudgingly continue to do so since there is no other app quite like it. But I hope the developers all get hemorrhoids.

  16. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Disappointing. They moved to a pay every year subscription based model. Used to be free. I would have gladly paid 5$ for basic functionality. They have all these features to share wallets and budget but I have no use for them. And the worst is they collect your data and upload to the cloud. This data shouldn't even leave my phone. If it's free, I expect to be data analyzed. But now that it isn't, there's no option for any. They want to milk the $ Out of it. Instead of offering something worth payments in addition to spending data, they crapped out and paywalled us. I'm just gonna Dev my own app since nothing else simple exists for free. A calendar with recurring math is not difficult.

  17. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Disappointment. This was a great app until they just decided out of the blue with very short notice that it was going to be a subscription only. A very expensive subscription too for what the app offers. I have used this app for years and no discount was offered. I would consider a one time fee as I liked it but it not worth what they are asking sadly. Will find an alternative app because of their actions!

  18. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Mandatory payment update- deleted immediately. So this app used to be free and I loved it. It was simple and did exactly what I needed it to do. It tracked my monthly bills, showed my current bank balance, and allowed me to plan ahead for upcoming payments/expenses. As of today, I can’t add a new transaction and I’m told that the free plan “is no longer offered.” In order to use the app any longer, I have to upgrade and pay $3.99/month or $55/year..... yeah... not happening. Immediately deleting.

  19. ★★★★login, signup and account access

Recent Update Deleted My Entire Account. Without warning my entire account was deleted and I was unable to login. Had to set up a whole new account and start over only to find out I need to pay going forward. Extremely disappointed in an app I’ve had for 4 years.

  20. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Was beautiful. The last update to Dollarbird 4 is perfect. I love it. Used Dollarbird for over three years now. Would love to continue supporting them, but $39.99/yr subscription is outrageous. I’d pay up to $19.99 as a one-time purchase, but their subscription rate is a dealbreaker. Paid $2.99 for some other app. Don’t like it as much, but not interested in an expensive subscription service to track my expenses.

  21. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Currently terrible. Thanks for the “update” but now can’t log in

  22. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Only one calendar. Paid for pro only can still create one free calendar!

  23. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Bring back DB Classic. There wasn’t nothing wrong with the old app (DB classic). We just want an offline version, with the old but good design, not this online garbage. Please, just leave us an option.

  24. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

I like the classic. This app is garbage now the hi is not user friendly at all waste of time

  25. ★★★★the calendar month is the only period model, but people live on pay cycles

DB classic is best. DB Classic is wonderful, functions perfectly. Ive used it daily for years with no trouble. One of the last updates to DB classic broke it for iPhone XS screens. I’ve got 10 items recurring on the first of each month, I can no longer scroll through that entire list and check them all off. It stays below the bottom of the screen. Unusable now, forcing me to use this crappy new one or not use recurring items anymore which is the whole point of being able to track expenses. Very unhappy about being forced into the new app from DB classic. What does it mean by “shutting down” oct 27? One of my biggest complaints is adding items on this version. Categories used to be so easy. Now it’s another click and scroll through a tiny window. Horrible in use! So many other “features” this app has are just clunky, unnecessary, and function poorly. I like the addition of photos and online access but having those is not worth dealing with the horrible operation of this app. There was nothing wrong with DB Classic. Forcing happy users to stop using your product is just bad business.

  26. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Not a fan of Dollarbird 3. Finally being forced to switched to the new version, but desperately clinging to Classic Dollarbird. I don’t like the new interface, I find it clunky. The colored tiles take up much more space compared to the other one so I have to scroll to see multiple transactions in a day and some of the colors are too dark in grayscale mode. Also I don’t like having the categories in alphabetical order, preferred being able to order manually according to most used. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find something better, closer to DB Classic, so I’m stuck, especially since it has years of my data. But, I did try. 😔

  27. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Poor customer support. The app locked me out and the password reset option hasn’t worked for weeks, and the support team never resolved the issue or replied to my ticket.

  28. ★★★★a needed feature is missing

Used to love this until last update.. So they fixed the app hiding old transactions, great! However, now the app runs so slowly I cannot stand it. It also duplicates transactions, or doesn’t add them at all. Seriously, whatever update you did a month ago, please take it back. There’s no shame in it, Instagram had to do it last month too. I don’t need to take pictures of receipts, I just need the app to work. You had so many good reviews for a reason, please don’t make me have to find another app! Old review: I’ve consistently used this app almost every day for the last few years to keep track of my budget, but the latest update has me quite frustrated. On the calendar there are little circles on the dates to let you know you’ve missed a scheduled transaction. Well now when I go to update the scheduled transaction it’s not there, but the circle is still there! It’s frustrating because I have all my bills scheduled, but they don’t always leave my bank on the day I schedule them for, so I just update them the next day, but now I can’t see them anymore. If you please fix this I’ll update it to the 5 star rating it deserved before this.

  29. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

0 stars. Subscribed and it doesn’t work.. I subscribed in order to add my wife as a collaborator, but the app does not allow me to do so. I want my money back.

  30. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

It log off without reason. Jj
