   Nothing but filters that you have to pay for. I wanted to actually fix the lighting in an image. The only choices I were given with a paid plan were photo filters that I already have in my phone’s camera app.

   Bait-and-Switch Subscription Model. I paid a flat rate for this app years ago and used it religiously. Now they’ve switched to a subscription model and locked features I already paid for behind another paywall. Unacceptable. Taking away tools from long time users who already purchased the app feels like a bait-and-switch. I supported this app early on and now I’m being forced to pay over and over again just to use what I already bought many years prior.

   How the good have fallen. Re-downloaded this app after not using for a while. Wow is it peppered with “pro” content left and right now. I don’t mind having paid extras, but sprinkling the filters throughout the interface makes the app garbage to use without paying, which I suppose is the goal.

   have to pay for things that used to be free. I’ve used this app since early 2010s for photo editing. I don’t use it much anymore because they now charge a monthly fee to use tools that used to be free.

   Used the app for years and it randomly charged me. Used this app for years and it randomly charges me out of nowhere for the subscription and from a bank account it never had information for. Will not be using it anymore.

   What happened to this app??. In the past I would call up a photo, edit it, and save it to my library. Are those days gone? Now we’re saving filter presets? Please advise, because your improvement is, to the say the least, not helpful if I can’t edit photos individually.

    Wish I could easily save to photos. I used to be able to easily save what I edited to my photos. Now it’s next to impossible. Why make such a *vital* task so complicated?

    what happened?. this used to be my #1 go to app for probably pretty close to a decade now ?? life happened and i stopped editing photos/posting on social media & i just recently redownloaded what i assume is the “old” version since my phone had offloaded the app. After redownloading it I wasn’t able to open it without a weird error message so I went to the appstore to update, and it is NOWHERE to be found. All that comes up when I search the appstore is the option to download this version of the app. So I download it, and lo and ahold, virtually EVERYTHING on it is now locked and requires a subscription. If the OG one would load I wouldn’t be here writing a review, but it doesn’t, and it’s super disheartening to see what they’ve done to it. This app was my ride or die for so long and I used it for nearly every photo that needed some editing. Will now be deleting and absolutely not be purchasing the subscription, not worth it!

    Greedy. Afterlight is slowly, but surely, removing all the free elements of the app. Now, unless one signs up for their pro version, over half the actions are locked. I will no longer use or recommend the app.

    App glitches constantly. I’ve had this app for editing photos for as long as I can remember, and recently it’s stopped working for me. Most of the time I open it, it won’t let me select photos. Additionally it never lets me selects an album other than recents, if I click the drop down menu the app freezes and is incapable of doing anything. I have to constantly close the app and reopen and it’s frustrating to find photos in the general album rather than find them in the places I saved them.

    Bad Support. I reached out to support at the end of last year because I had just missed the Lifetime subscription promo. They told me that the promo would be running again in a couple weeks and to just watch for it. That never happened and they stopped responding when I emailed them about it again. They could have just been honest if they decided not to run it again! But they clearly ignored me instead. Now they don’t even offer the option at regular price. I thought the app was pretty good and a solid value with the lifetime option, but I am deleting it because of their poor support practices. There are better options elsewhere that still offer lifetime purchase.

    Don’t even bother. What they don’t make obvious to you before installing is that your only installing a demo version of the full version that you’d have to pay for. your phone can edit this in all the same ways pretty much without installing anything just from your camera roll. don’t get yourself scammed into this app, it is not worth it especially not for the free version that locks any useful tool you’d be installing a photo editor for. trash & scam lol.

    Would be great BUT. Had the original version and stopped working so deleted to find a new version. Everything is locked and the lifetime i purchased MANY years ago (almost 10 yrs!) is now not applied??? super bummed as this was my favorite photo app. Will have to move on to Snapseed

    Won’t let me save my pictures anymore. Considering I pay monthly for this app this is incredibly irritating, I’ve updated recently and all but it is still not allowing me to save my pictures after I’ve edited it just shows me the loading sign. If this doesn’t get fixed soon I will be deleting & canceling my subscription.

    Scammers. I loved using this app for a long time. I bought it when it was like $2-$3 and it was FREE to use. Now I’m locked out of all of it and I’m asked to pay $40 for a lifetime subscription? Btw the restore button is dead and doesn’t work. Maybe fix that? It’s really hard to get in touch with customer support and when I did they made it my fault. F this app!

    So unbelievably slow/ glitchy. This is by far my favorite app for editing and it always has been. But it is nearly impossible to use because of how glitchy it is. It lags, it closes out, it's absolutely ridiculous.

    Scam/Fraudulant. This company seemed legitimate at first so I decided to purchase a membership. When I finally decided to adjust mine, there was no where and no way I could do so. I went to their website and their information on cancelling/adjusting a membership is vague to say the least. I attempted to reach their customer support team via email with no response. Do not purchase or give business.

    Extremely Slow, Crashes. I used to love using this app, but lately it has become painfully slow any time you click on anything. It takes almost 5 seconds to register any button you click. The app also crashes frequently. If this issue is fixed, I would gladly change my review to 5 stars.

    SCAM. I was an Afterlight user for many many years and just wasn’t loving the new app like the previous one. Not happy either that they sent an in app message to basically make us delete the old app and move to this one… MOST of it behind a paywall… so definitely don’t try this app. (Very shady). I purchase the pro version after being on their new version since it was released, and here’s everything wrong with it. Filters are all stuck in 2016 Instagram days, the touch features don’t make a difference to the photo and ends up adding a bunch of grain to it, images take a while to load in at the start with the loading circle on it, then saving it, as many have complained below, you cannot pic the size of it and the file type of JPEG or PNG. For everyone paying that absolutely should be an added option at bare minimum if most of their app is behind a paywall now and they USED to have it as an option. Customer service doesn’t respond to anything I’ve sent to them. If I could give 0 stars I would. For the price of these items in Afterlight this is absolutely not worth it. Go to Lightroom or Canva (free or pro)
