not good. camera capture is terrible. one capture it safe all is safe. the second it flags 3 ingredients.

  2. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Scam. Do not purchase this. It’ll continue to charge you almost weekly at different amounts. Still attempting to cancel 😒

  3. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

No Barcode Scanner. Contrary to what you expect, this app doesn’t contain a barcode scanner. You just take photos of ingredient lists. Absolutely not worth $5.

  4. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Immediately disappointed. Found this app through a website and was hoping it was going to be like EWG where you can search for products. I am looking for new pregnancy safe products online and this has no way to complete that function.

  5. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Doesn’t work. Nothing happens when I hit the scan button. Garbage app

  6. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Not convenient / informative enough. Disappointed. It doesn’t seem to have all known things to avoid and the descriptions are pretty light / don’t include sources or additional information. I thought it’d be convenient to be able to scan items, but in reality a lot of items don’t have the ingredients on the bottle. There is a website (not related to this app) that allows you to search a database of products for safety / risks… I’ve found that much more useful and includes trusted certifications / research.

  7. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Useless. You can only scan ingredients lists and the majority of my skincare bottles/jars don’t have the list - that was on the box that’s long gone. Also their list of ingredients is not comprehensive so even if you google an ingredients list, you can’t find the effect of all ingredients. Absolutely don’t waste $4 on this app.

  8. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

DO NOT BUY. Waste of money- doesn’t work. Says everything is low risk. I tested with multiple products containing retinol and it came up as no risk. Do not buy!!

  9. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Don’t waste your money. The list is very limited and it’s missing a lot of harmful ingredients like octinoxate. The scanner is taking forever and most of the time doesn’t flag the bad ingredients. You better do your own research it’s safer and cheaper. What a rip off.

  10. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Can’t copy paste ingredient list. This app only scans for limited ingredients. And, if you buy everything online, like me, you can’t copy/paste a list of ingredients into the app before making an online purchase. Waste of $$$$.

  11. ★★★★crashes, freezes and errors

Not working. Super bummed. The scanner doesn’t work at all. I held it up to the wall and it scanned and said “no harmful ingredients found”. I saw the negative reviews and hoped they were fixed but I guess not. As I just downloaded it I can’t “update it” to fix the problem like they said.

  12. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Big?. Doesn’t seem to register any scans. Appears to time out after a while and then pops up with “No harmful ingredients found” every time. With all the positive reviews, and another user experiencing the same thing, I’m assuming it’s a recent bug.

  13. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Doesn’t work well. This app scans the words on an ingredient list. This would be great for items I have with a list on it, but what about those that don’t. But it doesn’t even do a great job with the list, missed multiple ingredients on the label that are a risk.

  14. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Fails to read ingredients. It is very clearly written on the back of my makeup that it has an ingredient that is medium risk, yet the scanner did not catch it! Do not trust it to scan!!!

  15. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Didn’t detect aluminium. The app doesn’t flag aluminium which is high risk for pregnancy.

  16. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Unreliable. It seems to deem everything safe. I have separately googled ingredients which the app states as safe and other sites suggest are unsafe. Not sure this is reliable.

  17. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Waste of buying the app. I bought this app to see if my skincare was safe for my pregnancy. You can only scan the ingredients list which I don’t really find beneficial as it doesn’t pick up the whole list unless the product is completely flat. You can’t search up any products either if they don’t have ingredients on them either so I wasted £3.50 on this app

  18. ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Missing ingredients. I just downloaded and looked at a few of the products I own. The app didn’t have any information on most of the ingredients. These are common brands and products so I’m pretty dissapointed

  19. ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Honestly a wast of money. I wish this scanned barcodes (which I thought it did until I purchased and opened it) so I could be confident that it was picking up the ingredients list accurately. The only good thing is that is has a list of high risk, medium risk, and low risk ingredients that you can search through but it doesn’t seem to be a very long list so I’m still left guessing on some things. Don’t waste your money!

  20. ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Confusing…... I tried scanning the ingredient list and it only read fragrance…then I tired to type in a few of the ingredients and neither of them showed up in the data base. Even though one of them is actually highlighted in their photos previewing the app, Butylene Glycol. I have never been more frustrated to find an app that just tells me what is safe and what is not when it comes to skin care for baby and me. I’m upset hahaha

  21. ★★★★★search fails to find what is needed

Disappointing if I’m honest. I didn’t read the reviews prior to buying the app and am pretty disappointed that I purchased it. If there had been a way to test drive it I never would have, though it’s only $4 and perhaps will improve in the future. Here are my major gripes in a hope it will be helpful for the design team and other users: - You must have the physical product in hand to scan, there is no way to upload a list or use a camera role photo. Therefore this isn’t helpful for checking the safety of products prior to ordering them online. - It seems as though they aren’t leveraging the power of AI to have a more robust ability to check thousands of ingredients. I used to work in the cosmetics industry and it appears the app is limited in its ability due to a small ingredient database. - You cannot search by a product name or brand to get a sense of safety for the product as a whole (again I feel like we have this technology now) which is frustrating as a user as we are rarely looking at singular ingredients and ideally would know the safety level of a product in its totality.

  22. ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Option to type in or upload would be nice. It would be so helpful if the app had the option to upload a picture of, or insert via copy/ paste the ingredients of products. I downloaded the app so I could check on products BEFORE I buy them (online), meaning I can’t scan them! Such a bummer!! Would have been great…

  23. ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

It’s ok for catching some things but look at all ingredients. It’s helpful sometimes but I just tried scanning a list of 7 known labeled names for retinoids (from a pregnancy book) and it only flagged 5 of them. It said nothing about the other two since they aren’t in the limited data base. The app should really include a list of the ingredients it did not look at so you can do a secondary search on those ingredients. I was excited to find this app because I thought it would look at all ingredients but it is only looking for the things in the explicit list, which isn’t all-inclusive.

  24. ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Didn’t Work. The first time I scannd something, it came up with an ingredient that wasn’t even listed on the product. Disappointed because this kind of app is sorely needed!

  25. ★★★★★mixed experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Does what it’s meant to. *edit* It failed to pick up on a medium risk ingredient (octinoxate) because it was listed under a different name (ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate). Easy to use; the scanner functions really well. It’s quite fun going through your bathroom cabinet and checking all the ingredient labels with this app! I had manually checked most of the products I use early on in my pregnancy and it was a relief when this scanner confirmed that everything I’ve been using is safe. The only thing this app needs is a function that allows you to copy paste a list of ingredients for products that you are interesting in purchasing.

  26. ★★★★★mixed experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Bugs. The app is good but there are many bugs. When I upload de image, the app don’t take all ingredients than when I take a picture. There is a bus with the Dimethicone ingredient, when the ingredient found is Methicone the app take everything before it to form the word Dimethicone.

  27. ★★★★overall positive experience· unspecific

Good, but... I wish the app allowed us to see up to 5-10 of the past searches we’ve made. I was going thru a list of skincare that I needed to look up, and I was losing track of what I had just searched. Also, I do think a scan barcode function would be super helpful to have in a future version of the app!

  28. ★★★★overall positive experience· unspecific

Please add a way to use camera roll pictures. There are so many products that I’m using now that if I don’t have the box, I don’t have the ingredients list. However, I can screenshot them off of the website the products come from.

  29. ★★★★overall positive experience· unspecific

Great start. This app had saved me so much time. I can quickly look up harmful ingredients instead of researching each one individually. It would be even better if it also was able to scan product barcodes and allowed you too type in food names as well. That way I can also check if what I'm ingesting is safe.

  30. ★★★★stable and reliable performance

Works great. Love how easy it is to check my cosmetics for safe ingredients. Would have given 5 stars if there was an option to switch to “Breastfeeding mode”
