Payment options suck. The service was great for a long time then they changed payment processing and I use a dedicated card for this and it fails every time now. Customer service never gets back to you. Still waiting and it’s been two months. They need to offer pay ahead so I can choose to pay as I’m selecting my meals what payment I want to use. They always canceled my order before I could reach out which was less than 24hrs. After they changed payment processing they stopped delivering the same. The box I got last week had all rotten produce. Needless to say canceled.

If I could give 0 stars I would…. Horrible!! Could care less that my box arrived completely opened, “insulation” bag wide open, one and only ice pack melted, liquids leaking, meats warm, and produce smashed. I was concerned about feeding my family unsafe food and giving us food poisoning. This company took forever to respond to emails and when they did, the response was beating around the bush, so I’d reply, wait two weeks for a pointless response, and the circle keeps going. The two times I called, after explaining what the issue was, I was hung up on. One of those times they reached out with a follow up email but useless same irritating pointless BS as before! I paid $180 for rotten food that I literally walked right out to the dumpster. This horrible company should be ashamed operating like this!! It hurts my heart thinking of all the less fortunate people out there that don’t know where there next meal is coming from and there is so much wasted food daily. DO BETTER!!! BE BETTER!! Or find a different profession because you are lacking in soooo many departments here, two if them being empathy and common curtesy!!

Delivery a common disaster but good when you get it. I’ve used Marley Spoon off and on over the last few years and issues with delivery and consistency of delivery is always the number one problem. I rarely have this problem with other meal box providers like Hungry root, but Marley Spoon seems to not be able to get their stuff together. It’s a shame because some of my favorite recipes have come from Marley Spoon, but they are too happy to take your $100 every week and send your box to who knows where every so often. I just restarted the service after almost 3 years without it, and I’m having issues once again. I’ve reached out several times over the last 3 days and no one has replied. Yikes.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Our first box delivery was short, I order 12 meals and they only delivered 9. I tried calling but the phone number they post is totally bogus cause it’s a machine telling to email or use the app. I did both. No response for almost a week. I finally get an email after multiple follow up emails. For missing 3 meals, they’re giving me credit for $15 which doesn’t cover the 3 missing meals. I paused my subscription but they send another box anyway. Since I didn’t pick the meals, they randomly picked for me but didn’t pay attention to our gluten and dairy allergies. I sent an email asking for our money back, no response. Unreal, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.

Wanted to like them. Too many boxes arriving with wrong ingredients or arriving warm. Support was very slow and unhelpful in resolving issues. Meals themselves were tasty so it was unfortunate to have to cancel.

Marley Learn Fairness. This company ‘started out’ a good choice. By the 3rd meal we were not only missing things; they contracted amnesia! They couldn’t remember we paid and existed but the food was missing the day that it was scheduled to deliver. Not only that, the delivery service would say it was never scheduled for their truck. (Sigh) Yes the selections were good but the problems we continue to express—AI never answered our complaints. So we said enough is enough. Bye-bye Marley.

Worst experience, no real response from customer service. Two weeks in a row my boxes came in days late and the meat was above room temperature. The box only sat on the porch for a couple hours out of sunlight. They shipped my last box on the 14th and did not arrive until the 17th. All they put in the box to keep it cold is one gel ice pack! I’ve used hello fresh in the past and they use at least 2 massive ice blocks. I have reached out to customer service and a week later they responded with an automated email saying they have given me $12.99 in Marley spoon credit. Not only did my first box have inedible meat, I was missing ALL of the dairy ingredients. I couldn’t cancel the second box in time and was hopeful to give them another chance. Same experience but they sent TWO boxes, replicates, full of hot ingredients. $100 in and no food to cook. Customer service is no where to be found.

Negative experience. I had cancelled Marley spoon a long time ago and then logged back in to the app to check out some recipes I had liked which I guess triggered a re-subscription. I had skipped the boxes thinking it would skip for all but you have to skip them every time. The whole UX is meant to trick you so now I had a box being delivered to my previous address which is in a completely diff state! I thought if I contacted them before the delivery I could stop it. Nope! I was charged almost $100 for a box I never received 🙃. I also had to contact the delivery service since Marley wasn’t going to handle that communication. I was shocked that there was nothing that could be done. I will no longer be using them or recommending their services. Also again, the UX of skipping the boxes needs to be clearer IMO. It just felt so shady!

No Delivery but still charging. I ordered my first week and didn’t receive my box. They did give me a credit but bc they charge you 7 days before delivery I’m still getting charged for the next box. Which means I can’t use the credit until I have gone through another order. I don’t want to have to keep ordering when they couldn’t even deliver the first box but now I’m stuck ordering several weeks in a row in order to use the credit. Seems like a scam

First boxes were a FAIL!. No premade meatballs as advertised for the subs and no fresh mint for the pasta!

Bad Ingredients, Bland Recipes. I was really disappointed with what I was sent. The Chicken Fajitas meal was very bland, little to no flavor. But the worst was the Thai Pork Cutlets. It was so fatty and had so much gristle, that by the time I cut off all the fat, there was not enough pork to feed one person, let alone two. Really disappointing.

Not happy. Got 2 deliveries. No recipes in either. If it’s on line, can’t find it. I canceled. Supposed to make my life easier. Didn’t.

Good luck getting your food. Ordered from here 3 times. 2 out of the 3 times my food never showed up and was mysteriously marked “delivered” a week later. (it never was). My guess is they put the food is large bright yellow boxes that delivery drives can’t miss and I just conveniently ends up going home with their drivers. My BIGGEST issue in ALL this is the customer service was TERRIBLE!! The 2nd time my food was stolen by their delivery drivers I never heard a SINGLE word back from their customer service team. Needless to say, I never ordered from here again so, good-luck getting your food.

Never Received Box. For my first shipment from Marley Spoon, they used OnTrac as the shipper. Why they did that is beyond me because OnTrac has a very poor reputation. I believe the Better Business Bureau has given OnTrac a rating of F, if I’m not mistaken! I never received my initial box on the day it was promised, and further communication with OnTrac was worthless and pointless. One week later and the box still hasn’t arrived or been accounted for. Very disappointed. I immediately canceled my account with Marley Spoon. Marley Spoon needs to stop using OnTrac for deliveries.

Terrible Ruined Box and Bad Customer Service. I was really excited to try Marley Spoon. When I received it the fish had broken open and fish juices got all over everything in the box. I have ordered a lot of meal services and never had a package break - but in reading reviews apparently this happens a lot with Marley Spoon. I reached out to customer service and they offered me a $7 credit toward my next box. Ridiculous- the box was wasted I wasted my money had no meals and you want me to try paying for your service again? After going through the box to see if I could salvage anything I also found it was missing ingredients. I tried reaching out to customer service again and never got any response except we see we already credited your account $7 so this issue is resolved. Horrible. Extremely disappointed.

Didn’t want my order. Before I could cancel, it charged my card. Trying ti stop it from being shipped! Can’t get a live person! Tried calling that number! Says it’s not in service!! Update ! NOT IN SERVICE!

The worst. Customer service is non existent. Truly awful in helping customers, will never use again

Beware of bad customer service & no refunds. Just a heads up, if they ship you a box late and your ingredients are bad, they won't reimburse you the whole amount. They will still charge you roughly half for things like spices and vegetables that have been sitting in a box with rotten meat for a day. For some reason, they think that you will use them even though the meal they were ordered to create is no longer able to be made. Check out Reddit, this has happened to several folks.

App is fine the company is wasteful. Had consistent deliveries to my address weekly and this last delivery did not come until 3 days past the delivery date and the delivery wasn’t even held in a cold storage it was as if it was held in a car the 3 days. Furthermore I was only offered partial credit to keep the dry ingredients however the planned meals for the week were mostly protein meals. It was so sad to have to throw it all away because someone didn’t want to do their job of delivering it. So inconsiderate and wasteful. I’ll never cook another Marley spoon.

App is bad & so is the produce. The produce comes already going bad, we’ve thrown much of in the trash & buying from grocery store. When I tried to cancel on the app, it said I cancelled. A week later I get charged again. Spoke to “customer service” & they said I would have received an email if I cancelled. Download crappy app again & cancelled again…says I will get an email in next 30 days. I just turned off auto pay through payment source. Stay away!!
- ★★★★★support does not respond or resolve the issue
Terrible customer service. The app is cumbersome with all the new extras for every meal. Used to love using this app and service but the last few months it has become more of a hassle to navigate and order recipes that my family would enjoy. They also have horrible customer service both on the phone and via email. They can NEVER do anything to help which seems odd since most other companies like to solve their issues and make customers happy. Overall the food is good but not worth the $50 price tag for a small meal.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Terrible and shady. App forces you to pay before even seeing options for meals. I called immediately and canceled my order, and followed up with an email. 2 weeks later they delivered a box and charged me. I called to get a refund for a box I never ordered and customer service was extremely rude, saying they could not do anything. Shady service, no wonder this chick went to jail
- ★★★★★support does not respond or resolve the issue
Don’t expect good customer service. My sister (who lives states away) told me to try it and she would send me a voucher. I mistakenly went on the app and looked at what they had prior to receiving it and it refreshed and created an account for me. Not only that but the delivery date was not on e I had selected. Then I contacted customer support 2x and got no response. Didn’t even get a chance to use the code since the account was already created and it’s 1 per household 😡.

Awful customer service. Use at your own risk. Fair warning: my comments are about Marley Spoon, the service. The actual app works okay. However, if you have any problems with delivery or quality of products, do not expect any resolution from customer service. They behave as you would expect from a money-grab of a weekly delivery service. Run, don’t walk, to any of the other (and better customer focused) meal delivery services!

used to be good canceling if they don’t fix the app. what can i say, been using this for three years and old app was very easy to use. Now, it’s simply broken and hardly functional. Examples, instead of seeing some of the recipie names you see a title like “add premium chicken” for something that looks like chicken parm. Also if you change your meal options and forget to go through the 3 extra clicks that it takes no to confirm, it sends you the meals you didn’t want. It used to be very easy, now it’s not. Please Fix!

Never arrived. Poor customer service. Placed an order after joining and on the day of arrival nothing arrived. Tracking information showed a label was not even printed yet. Tracking service would give me no additional information. The chat bot was absolutely no help at all. I deleted.

Cilantro in 90% of Recipes. I kid you not, I did the math - in the 4 week period I’ve given to try Marley Spoon the menu had 90% recipes with cilantro as a main ingredient. On top of that, like 75% of the recipes ask for $5-8 per serving additional for a “premium” meal. Well, what’s premium? Substituting chicken for steak. A pasta dish with 5 ingredients (none special or expensive). Remember when high end meal boxes like Marley gave you unique spices that would be hard to buy a small amount of for one meal? Not anymore. It’s constant reuse of cheap spice blends. A Mexican blend in tacos, in flautas, in Mexican burger, in Mexican pasta.. same repeats for Mediterranean spices, southwest blend, and an outright abuse of Chinese 5 spice and tamari. Don’t get me started on the sesame seeds as default for all seeds/nuts. Hope you like creamed kale it’s 50% of side dishes. Other 50% is spinach salad, plain broccoli, or various ways to slice carrots.
