Not open about pricing scheme. Honestly sounded like a great app. I was super excited to try it but was hesitant since the pricing is just a find out in the app situation. So I turned to google and everything I looked at said $10 a month or $80 a year which I was willing to pay the monthly to try with the option to switch to yearly. Imagine my surprise that it’s actually $20 a month or $170 a year! Double the price of reports as recent as March! Definitely not worth it for $20 a month, not in this economy. Maybe if they went back to the $10 a month but this is getting out of hand really.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Not Free. Just advertise that it’s subscription based. I feel lied to by the ad that said it’s free with a premium upgrade. I deleted as soon as I saw the subscription come up.

🤷🏻♀️. Was a decent app till they decided to start charging for it and locked me out of accessing any recipes i had made before
- ★★★★★trial charges and refunds
Scammed. I did the free trial and cancelled on the 7th day via email to the company. They told me that they could not refund my money and instead would send me an Amazon gift card. Already that sounded fishy. I agreed anyway and I have received no thing. Scammed out of $79. Do not download this app!
- ★★★★★trial charges and refunds
First time user. Downloaded app first time said trial ended like straight subscriptions page . That's pretty scam

Just say up front what it costs. Im getting really tired of apps that say free with in app purchases not being free or having a limited free version (a trial you will be automatically billed to continue is NOT a free version) just be up front because when you arent I just delete the whole thing without trying it out at all
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Misleading. The description says they offer a subscription for full access to the app, so I assumed it was free to use the basic app, but there’s not. You have to enter your card info to get access to the app at all.

Not great. So hard, bad ui. Not my favorite

Not there yet. I like the suggestions but the second thing we made (veggie lasagna) the proportions were wrong & it was missing EGGS for the ricotta. Can’t afford to make mistakes like this

Disappointed. Didn’t work. Continued to get a message that it failed to build a menu after I selected the meals for the week.

Bug Issues. I filled out the beginning form and as soon as it was about to generate my list, it froze and the button won’t work. I’ve tried several times including redownloading and results in the same issue.

App hangs up and freezes. iPhone 16 pro max, downloaded app, registered account, directly after email and password input the app went completely white and blank. Force closed app, reopened and still completely white. Restarted phone, fixed issue. App asked food preferences.. then went completely white again. Currently unusable. Can provide more info or screenshots.

Total Scam. The app doesn’t work, and they create fake posts on tiktok to advertise. Terrible.

Tech difficulties. Not sure if anyone else is having this problem but I’ll sternly to sign up, put in my preferences & dietary needs and it will move to the screen where is states that it will curate my first menu for me & learn about me over for the next two weeks- then just freezes. I’ve left it open for 2 hours while I did homework and it has not budged from that screen

Struggles with calories. I have told Ollie multiple times that my servings need to be under 600 cal. Sometimes it does that. But too often the calories are higher. When I tell it to make adjustments to get it lower, it claims that it has done so, when in fact the calories still show as higher.
- ★★★★★login, signup and account access
Stop logging me out. I liked many features I didn’t like that it keeps signing me out then I get locked out and have to change my password again and again it’s frustrating if I don’t log on for a few days it logs me out and then my phone saves the password but now it’s not the right one I don’t have time for that

So much to love but not quite there. The AI meal planning and customization features are genuinely great. The ability to modify meals on the fly is the kind of thing that makes you wonder why other apps haven’t done it yet. The grocery list is where things fall apart. A few specific issues: • Old meals linger in your list and have to be manually deleted, which takes the app several minutes to process (took me 15 min to delete last weeks list so I could add this week’s groceries). • while grocery shopping, it’ll show quantities in cups, oz, etc instead of item count. So 2.5 cups bell pepper instead of number of bell peppers. Also, manually added items you’ve crossed off don’t clear • Adding a meal later repopulates everything you’ve already checked off If you grocery shop with your partner while they’re using the same list on their phone, you have to refresh the list constantly to see their updates. While grocery shopping, the items you mark off drop to the bottom of that category but stay in the list so scrolling through it is pretty annoying. The AI also has a hard time remembering preferences and incorporating them all in your next week’s meal even if they’re in your preference list. Seems like persistent memory is hit or miss. Overall, the bones are there but it’s still working on the kinks. AnyList has the best grocery shopping experience I’ve seen. And Ollie has the best meal creation part.

Loved it before the update. I was loving Ollie before the latest update. Now it’s more cumbersome to use. The AI constantly plans repetitive cuisine (Mediterranean 4 nights a week) and the “replace with quick meal” has been removed, so it requires more time and instruction to replace. Also with the update, I lost all my previous liked meals and my cookbook. The AI now freezes up after interacting and I have to force close the app to continue my planning. Very frustrating!

Shows promise. This app has a lot going for it. I like the idea of meals planned and (99%) ordered for me. It was useful on a given day/week when I didn’t have anything planned and didn’t want to go to the grocery store myself. I also like how I can take pics of what I already have and add my own recipes. However, I’ve noticed I use the app irregularly. I’ll open it once in a while, not counting on it every week to plan all our meals for us. I think to use it more when I don’t already know what I’d want to buy. I was disappointed that I couldn’t manually edit recipes that I uploaded by taking pictures. It’s too tedious to change things via chat with Ollie, so I gave up adding a bunch of recipes from my cookbook binder. I think I’ll use it more as I add more of my existing recipes that I know we like — and if I can just manually edit recipes myself!
- ★★★★★crashes, freezes and errors
Love it. I’ve been using Ollie for a few weeks now and within the past week it has been very buggy-I open the app and I get a white screen with nothing loaded. I had dinner prepped and didn’t know what to do because the app wasn’t working so I winged it. Love the concept but with this white screen and now a loading wheel, can’t suggest the app anymore as it “crashes” upon start up

First time amuse left me running back to the grocery store. Great app, but thr grocery list feature needs some work as some items were missing from my list. I had to run back out and grab more items as I was working my way through the meals. I will prob still use, but createy own shopping lists.

Love the app. Suggestion to put it over the top.. Love the app, but it desperately needs a personal notes field on recipes for ingredient swaps and cooking adjustments.” This would significantly improve usability for repeat cooks and long-term users.”

Life Changer!. Before using Ollie, it would always be a battle trying to figure out what was for dinner. But Ollie takes that problem away! The recipes are delicious, easy to follow, and made me enjoy cooking again! I only gave it 4 stars because they went to a paid subscription and unfortunately now I am unable to get into the app at all to see any of the over 250 recipes I used. I understand not continuing to use the meal plan suggestions but at least give us access to what we already saved.

Helpful. I have loved using this app it has helped many nights when I couldn’t think of anything for dinner. I will say I’m a little sad because I started using it before they required a subscription which was even better but from a company standpoint I can understand why they need to charge.

When you don’t know what to make for dinner. When I’m stuck on ideas on what to make for dinner, this site has helped me a lot. The meals come together quickly and easy.

Love the app!. I love this app! But all of a sudden it opens to a blank, white screen and I can’t use it. So sad because I had all my meals planned for the week and now I can’t access the recipes.

Scammers. Does not have a list of recipes to choose from so you have to rely on the AI to create recipes. Also was invited to a meeting to talk about my experience, promised a gift card which I never received. Scammers UPDATE- I did receive the gift card after then seeing this review. Gave it 4 stars now.

So worth it!. My husband and I used to use ChatGPT to meal plan but honestly things got stale quickly, it wouldn’t follow directions and kept giving us very similar meals which is why we wanted to try something new. While Ollie isn’t free, for a mom with 2 toddlers trying to lighten the mental load this has been SO worth it! I love that it makes a grocery list and that I can just text it and it will sync to my app. So happy we found this!

Life saver secret bf. Just started using Ollie. I made a few recipes that have been great. He’s helped me plan Easter and the following week’s meals, and he answers all my questions! I’m in love! 😍

Love love love!. I love everything about this app! Modifying a recipe is so simple, I love that I can text questions, and the ease of importing recipes!
