  1. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Charged $8.99 without my permission. Apple just sent me an email with my subscription charges. WorkOutDoors charged me $8.99 and I did NOT sign up for a subscription nor did I choose any of the “Tip Jar” options. I haven’t even used the app.

  2. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

App sucks. Where do I start zero stars

  3. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Really terrible UX. If an early prototype of Windows95 met a first generation Apple Watch and had a child that was accidentslly dropped on its head, this would be the interface it produce

  4. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Charged me for no reason. Just money grabbing

  5. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Garbage - cannot create routes anymore.. This app is a waste of money. Now you have to use Strava or another app to create a route and import it into WOD. So much for an all in one app. Would be great otherwise.

  6. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Constantly crashes during routes. This used to be the greatest app of all time. Loved it. Used it constantly. Now I’m debating paying $10 for another app just to merge my runs because this thing crashes multiple times during my routes. The answer isn’t to just not use the routes since that is literally the only reason that I bought it.

  7. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Downs nothing for me! Want a refund. Installed the app read thru the instructions and followed all troubleshooting tips and the app just opens up and does nothing want a refund

  8. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

They Broke it!. Update 6.0 erased all my personal settings. Worst of all the metric label fonts (I.e. bpm, %hr, etc.) are now TINY, UNREADABLE and the user can’t change them. How many of your Customers asked you to erase their settings? How many of your Customers can read the tiny little fonts while running or hiking? Is this company arrogant or carelessly incompetent?

  9. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Maps not so great. I purchased this app for my Apple Watch S9, the maps functionality is so far behind the ability of my $46 knock-off watch it’s almost laughable … the folks at WorkOutDoors and their mapping functionality are sadly about 15 yrs behind..

  10. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Needs work. Not intuitive at all. I would like a refund.

  11. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Lacks basic features. Patently absurd to charge $8 for a "running" app without shoe tracking, one of the most basic running features.

  12. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Don’t buy for ultra 2. Connectivity issues. Can’t upload maps to watch even after troubleshooting with app services.

  13. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Too complicated to use. The design is not intuitive. After importing route, very hard to display the route on the map

  14. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Swimming. Bought this specifically for my lap swimming. Does not work. No BPM, nothing… nothing registers. Very disappointed

  15. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Hands down the worst fitness app. Constantly pauses workouts without alerts Does not capture heartrate Doesn't sync with Apple Fitness Unintuitive user interface

  16. ★★★★crashes, freezes and errors

Broken. I had heard good things so I tried it out. It doesn’t export your workout correctly to Strava. The standard Apple workout exports correctly, so I guess I’ll just have to use that one.

  17. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Can't transfer maps to watch. I've been using this app for many years and it's mostly been great. However, even after the supposed fix in 5.4 which was meant to address an issue caused by watcho OS 10.5, I still am unable to transfer maps to the watch.

  18. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Worst support. I had several questions, the the support staff only could answer one of three, all they said was “I don’t know why” don’t waste your money on this app.

  19. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Far to confusing. I never write reviews, but this is so bad I had to to hopefully save people money from wasting it on this ridiculous app. I get it may be “powerful” but its far to complicated and there are guides nowhere. Its ridiculous to pull routes into this app, you have to use other apps or other sites to put into this. Just far to complicated and an absolute waste of money. If I am gunna pay for this on the app store it should be user friendly.

  20. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Should be able to use without watch. The fact that this app won't run without an app watch is crazy. There's no reason the app shouldn't work through the phone.

  21. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Battery issue. Can you fix battery bug please? I can complete 3 hours only track with 100% on my fresh Watch Ultra… :(

  22. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Stopped saving workouts. I paid for the app and it seemed great. However, I went to look at my progress and the last workout it showed was from 2 months ago - the health app shows the workouts I recorded using this app, but the app itself doesn’t show them. I tried resetting with no luck, so deleted and reinstalled the app. Lost ALL of my workouts doing that. Will be switching to another app.

  23. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

    wow terrible. absolutely unusable design.

  24. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

NOT FOR CYCLIST. Works for running, walking, climbing…etc. Except for cycling it does NOT mirror your watch screen in the iPhone, user will have to raise your arm every time you want to view your cycling metrics :-( if your a cyclist DO NOT BUY WASTE OF MONEY

  25. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Won't install on Apple Watch Ultra 2. This app will not install on my new Apple Watch. So I can only give it one star.

  26. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

The best app. Best workout app on the market, hands down.

  27. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Use this app and you might wind up dead. When the power runs out before you plug it into a external charger on the watch or if the app crashes your Origins and tracks are wiped out, meaning you can be completely lost in the wilderness without a way to find back. Also, complete battery hog in pause mode Great!

  28. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Does not work well with Apple Watch Ultra. Does not work well with Apple Watch Ultra always-on display. During a workout the screen grays out if you put your wrist down. Must raise wrist to wake screen to view. An email to the developer was answered quickly explaining the technical reason for this limitation. A fix is promised but is not available. Kind of unfortunate that no trial version was available. An otherwise OK app with many customization features, although I find the UI to look a little dated. But cannot recommend over the built in app, or free apps lifelike Nike Run Club.

  29. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Dangerous app. This app would be a five star rating. It would be maybe the only reason why anyone would want to buy an Apple Watch. It could be the solution for all hiking and outdoor enthusiast. Unfortunately it is marred by a problem which could cost you your life: when you go into the wilderness and it draws your tracks, if the app crashes or if you need to restart your watch your entire track including your point of origin are wiped out meaning you will possibly never find your way home again. Amazing that the developer hasn't been sued for reckless endangerment. Another problem is that when in pause mode, the app uses a lot of power and drains your Watch battery completely overnight

  30. ★★★★inaccurate results and incorrect data

Plenty of Features Rendered Inaccurate. I had high hopes for this app, hoping and praying it would be the fix for all the different GPS mapping apps for runners. I loved setting up all the different options and custom display to my preference. The one defining issue for me, as a runner, is the inconsistent mileage it gives me with each and every run. Using the same course, one day the mileage notification would trigger 1/4 mile past the actual mile mark, then the next day it would notify me of my mileage 1/4 mile before the actual mile marker. For the most part, my old Garmin Forerunner 230 is still the most accurate to date.
