Newest Update. I dislike the new update for non-subscribers very much. It’s just a lot of busy work making it look like you improved it but it actually made it worse. The interface is actually more complicated without accomplishing a thing and without demonstrating how to use it or to send us any kind of message about it. Just “wham” I had an update. I didn’t even have a choice.

  2. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Downhill. I used this app a ton a couple of years ago when I was running almost every day. I recently opened this app for the first time in a while and was disappointed to find that many of the features that used to be free are now only accessible with a premium subscription. I know that many companies, apps, and services have started doing this, but it is still frustrating. It would just be nice to have something that is simple and works well be accessible in a way that doesn’t rely on recurring payments and capitalist greed.

  3. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

BEWARE!!. Do not get this app!! I used this app for a few years and really liked it but something has changed recently and my workouts haven’t “updated” since June. Customer service is ABYSMAL and IMPOSSIBLE to find a phone number. Text chats go in circles of “how can we help…send screenshots of app and login…we are escalating this…your problem appears resolved” over and over. I’ve done all the trouble shooting over and over. I’m finally resigned to the fact that this app is a scammy app owned by a Chinese company now, convos are auto generated, I won’t get a refund on my premium membership…Just stay away from the paid subscription - so infuriating it has such good reviews still.

  4. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Adding the paywall to already in app features makes this app useless. I originally got this app because I go long boarding a lot for exercise. And while I could put skating in the apple fitness tracker, it never tracked distance. That’s where SportsTracker came into play, it would track distance and show me the map of where I went. Well they took a pre-existing feature of mapping my rides and put it behind a paywall, making this app useless to me. If you’re not going to track where I went and how long I went, there’s no point in me having this app since Apple will do the same thing you do for free. This app has been deleted from my library as it serves no purpose.

  5. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Now paid subscription. And yet another subscription model. Ridiculous. Now pretty useless without "subscribing". My data is now behind a payment wall. Useless update other than yet another annoying subscription model. Not worth for the rest of us who tracked for the fun of it.

  6. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Doesn’t show up on Apple Watch anymore:(. Even after resetting watch and deleting/adding app again and ensuring all permissions are available, this app doesn’t show up on my watch. It’s the ONLY app that doesn’t. I will miss this app, it was really good when it worked.

  7. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

App Requiring Access to Personal Info At All Times. Just deleted the app after the recent request to obtain unrestricted personal health information and location at all times. In order to use the app you have to accept the above. Nope! See ya!

  8. ★★★★data, history or progress disappears

Update on free version is bad. I used to like this app a lot. I ride bikes, run, and do a lot of hiking. It was a good way of getting a reasonable estimate on what I was doing and to keep track of my workouts. The other day I accidentally logged out and when I logged back in most of my workouts are now gone. It looks like I’ll now need to switch to strava or something like that. This app is pretty much worthless now.

  9. ★★★★crashes, freezes and errors

Not worth it. I’ve had this app crash and stop recording my activity six times in the last three months. Only still using it because it does record my workout to the Apple Health reliably when it does work, as opposed to another app that rarely crashes but does not save to Apple Health. Also there is no community feeling here. Clubs, challenges, etc. The people who originally convinced me to try ST left for another app within a few months.

  10. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Crashed my iPhone the last two times. Just normal 40 minute jogging, made my iPhone unavailable for 5 minutes, then another 5 minutes…. Rebooted, but did not help. Also, the reported steps in apple health can’t be added to the total. This is iPhone 11 on latest iOS 17.5.1. Are you sure you guys tested it stable with iOS?

  11. ★★★★an update broke a familiar workflow

Disappointed. Since the new update a bunch of features I’ve loved have been removed, and placed behind a pay wall. Look for another app. :(

  12. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Update is a downgrade for free app. Beware before you update that many features that used to be included in the free version are now only available via premium pay app.

  13. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Freezing. I wish this app worked for me, no matter what I did it freezes . I removed the app, reinstalled it, turned off my phone , back On … and nothing is working ! I barely can move forward one click then everything freezes.

  14. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Downhill Fast. Switch to Strava. Ever since moving to “pay for premium”, this app has been going downhill fast. Aside from putting your data being a paywall, they continually release “new features” which make no sense and are full of bugs. And that’s just in the free version. Considering that this is true of the features they release to the public (I.e., as incentive for you to buy premium) I can’t imagine how many of the “premium features” are just as ridiculous and buggy as these. Strava has all the same features for free as this one does, but is actually widely respected and used. I don’t have any loyalty to this app anymore. Once they put years of my data behind a paywall and started releasing buggy features in their place, it was set for a course downhill. They haven’t course corrected since then. Waste of time to use this.

  15. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

sad days... i have used/loved/recommended this app since is came out - 7-8 years or so - as it had all the features that kept you using it, especially for my sport of choice - street skateboarding; maps/heat maps, distance, intervals, pause/start, tss, training over time improvements, etc. i did expect it would go paid, but by adding something more that would ‘take it to the next level’ (way above others that have come since and added even more), not by taking pre-existing features and putting THEM behind a paywall - that’s pretty shady; it’s the same app and a subscription to get back what we already had is cheap, they’ve added nothing new. well, i’m off to another app, there are so many more since you came along and several offer more/better features for either a one time payment or much less expensive yearly subscription. i’ll still keep an eye on it, check back, and see if your tactics change (i have a soft spot for sportstracker - maybe add new features?!), but my hopes are low..

  16. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Features are now premium. After using the app for a long time, some of the features suddenly quit working until I realized they are now part of the premium version. The developer should have grandfathered the users that have been using the app and had new subscribers to pay for the premium version. As others mentioned, we hate to leave but time to look at other apps.

  17. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Introduced subscription paywalls to previously free features. Time to look for an alternative. It would make sense to block newly developed features behind a paywall...but features that were already free now being inaccessible is unethical. It's not like there was any real overhead cost to KEEP those features since there haven't been any improvements. I would've paid a 1-time upgrade cost but a subscription?!?! Really?

  18. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Runkeeper gives you audio feedback for free. After updating sports tracker most recently, all the remaining features were placed behind a paywall. These aren’t even fancy features, just things you would expect in a workout app. I’m switching to Runkeeper, as, for example, they will give you audio stats in the free version.

  19. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Premium upgrades cost. I’ve been using this SportsTracker app for years for no fee. The most recent update now includes a premium fee to compare my routes and voice feedback during workout. I have held out when other family members and friends were trying to get me to change my sports app to Strava or Garmin app. I hate to leave SportsTracker, because all of my activities will be lost. But I am not going to pay a premium fee for the features that I’ve grown accustomed to using for free. it’s time for me to make the switch. Bummer

  20. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Some users have limited functionality now. Me and my wife are using this app, and suddenly a lot of functionality of my app became unavailable and I have to buy Premium to enable it again. Interestingly, my wife still has full access and she’s not paying. Because of this, I’m not going to pay. I guess I’ll go back to Runkeeper since you took away everything that I came here for.

  21. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Unprofessional!. After a years, creators of the app decided to remove functions and to offer them as a paid option. Unprofessional is just a polite word for this pickpocketing.

  22. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Disappointed. Very disappointed to discover the feature that tells me via voice-feedback the mileage, speed etc during my cycling workout is now a “premium” feature that I have to pay for. I understand adding features for an additional charge, but starting to charge for features that app users are accustomed to using for the free app is very annoying! I’m now searching for a different workout tracking app!

  23. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Premium…RU serious?. This app has been a good one. Upgrade to “Premium” degraded the Basic version to bare bones. No thanks!

  24. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Paywall feature scope creep. My family and I have been using this app for years to track and share workouts with each other. There were a number of features that made this app head and shoulders above many of the other training apps available, such as active split and pace feedback during training, route history and trends, and TSS scores for training intensity insight. Kudos to the developers for making an awesome product that gave people useful data to help them train smarter and more effectively. It comes as no surprise that progressively some of the more useful features have started to disappear behind an ambitious paywall. Someone must have decided that providing data driven training insight, constructive feedback, and any functionality beyond that of a digital checkbox for “tracking sports” goes against the ethos of their app’s name. ISO new fitness app that values its customers and wants to enable and empower them to meet and exceed their training goals.

  25. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Sadly I think it’s time to look for an alternative. Been using the app for years, despite the somewhat recent unresponsiveness of support and unresolved bugs, its features kept me invested. I know it was going premium, I replied to their surveys, always stressing the bugs experienced and lack of support. Now, one of the features I loved the most is behind a paywall: the map diary, that color codes the routes taken based on the activity. On top of that, I still experience the same old bug that’s going on for months: haven’t gotten the total distance saved to the activity after recording it with the Apple Watch (rollerblading). Quoting another recent review: I don’t need to pay to know it’s going to be a bad experience.

  26. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Previously free features now paywalled. Previously you were able to plan routes and follow them on your device. They removed this feature (along with a few others) and are making it seem like it is a new and improved perk…when it is just the same app repackaged with a few

  27. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Premium!!!!. You’re just move some features to premium. How useless. I won’t buy it and I will delete it.

  28. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

They own your data - do not use. I was a very satisfied user of this program for three years. I loved that I could keep track of workouts of all types. It is important to me to keep my information private.Recently, the use agreement changed. The company states that they have access to and can use all sports tracker data and data from related health applications. They do not de-identify it.They can sell it to whomever they want. I am deleting the program. I will not use it again and I will advise against using it to anyone who asked me what sport tracking program I use.

  29. ★★★★crashes, freezes and errors

Major Glitch. Won’t let me select my real weight. It automatically scrolls to the highest weight listed on its own.

  30. ★★★★crashes, freezes and errors

Dead app?. I think this is a zombie app that is no longer supported. If you look at the version history there is a monthly update where apparently a bot increments the version number and copy-n-pastes the same description. Was a great app for years but then an update completely broke the weight setting. No response from support going on 7 months, still broken today. Syncing with Apple health stopped working a long time back as well.
