App Broken. Doesn’t recognize subscription. Proceed cautiously.. app doesn’t recognize premium purchase. May have just wasted $6

  2. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

App no longer Speaks Turns, the Entire Point of the App. I have used the RunGo app as a Premium user successfully for years without issue. The past few updates have completely broken the core function of the app to speak turns and route directions. The app no longer speaks at all from my Apple Watch. I have tried restarting both my Apple Watch and iPhone, and tried to ensure that the volume is turned up in the RunGo app settings on the watch. I’ll reach out to support and hopefully they can help me fix this. Otherwise the app is essentially useless for me.

  3. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Won’t even create profile. I downloaded this to use on my run training. It won’t even create a profile. It just crashes back to the Home Screen. This has been going on for 2 days.

  4. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

They keep your data hostage. Horrible app It comes with a standard route planner, something I can get from EasyRoute for free. Then it doesn’t have audio cues if you plan your own route, just beeps. Then it WON’T let me export MY DATA, unless I pay their subscription. Data that the built in WORKOUTS all gives you for FREE. There is absolutely nothing beneficial about this app, and since I cannot export my route to Strava or Garmin, I cannot sync it with all my other training. I ran 15 miles for nothing!

  5. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Dumb In-App Purchases. Got this app to help plan my runs. Didn’t realize (they don’t make it obvious) that you can only plan one route, and then you have to pay for a subscription. They don’t tell you that up front. Also, the route making was super buggy and I couldn’t even outline my current run because it doesn’t show sidewalks are connected to certain roads, so it will not let you use them. It’s basically useless and is NOT a free app.

  6. ★★★★data, history or progress disappears

Not SAFE for Navigation. Horrible. They’ve made it worse with expensive subscriptions. If you go off course just once the entire mapping is done. It won’t course correct. It won’t tell you when you are off course. And the worst is once you get back on course it will no longer give you turn by turn directions. Imagine traveling for work, getting in a workout and being lost. Having to keep looking at your phone for which way to go. Not efficient and certainly NOT SAFE.

  7. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Great app in theory, lousy support. Update 1/24: Not sure if this was a joke, but I got an email with a somewhat snarky response from the developer today after reaching out multiple times in OCTOBER. I would now say this app is a borderline scam and would NOT recommend.*** Great app in theory, but I haven’t gotten any support since paying for a premium subscription. It’s possible the app was great before the last big iOS release, but the Contact Us button doesn’t actually work/go anywhere and sending a request on the website just goes to a Zendesk queue that hasn’t been responded to in weeks despite check-ins. Doesn’t sync to Strava

  8. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Must Pay for Route Creating. I’ve been a user for over 4 years and they have changed the app so that you must pay to use route creation. This free feature is the only reason I previously liked the app. I will not stand for paying for something that used to be free and will be deleting the app. All other features are mediocre compared to other tech savvy workout apps.

  9. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Horrific UX!. DO NOT BY ANY MEANS use this app. It’s completely useless and is full of massive defects. Literally a complete waste of time, the developers of this app should be ashamed of themselves.

  10. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

App keeps crashing. Looks promising, but as soon as I try to create a route the app crashes.

  11. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Good app/idea for beginners. I am currently giving this a 1 star review as I am having issues with the app on my phone. It immediately crashes when I open it. I will update and revise this review when this is fixed. I have only been on one run using this app so far, and really like the idea of it. It gives good turn by turn instructions and keeps track of pace. The announced notifications are a little robotic, but it gives good info overall.

  12. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

It’s okay. Won’t be using it after today. The apps records run but as of lately and in the past this app stops my runs abruptly and ruins my whole mile and mile time. There should be an option that locks your run. It is such an inconvenience and disappointment when this happens!

  13. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Decent for routing, abysmal for metric tracking. Strava integration doesn’t populate any metrics whatsoever and RunGo completely obfuscates any apple workouts/health data. Was really excited for this and we generally pleased with the route tracking, but killing all health collection metrics to other, more capable, analytics platforms is a complete dealbreaker.

  14. ★★★★an update broke a familiar workflow

Freezes when exporting GPX. Latest version freezes when attempting to export GPX

  15. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Bad directions. I’ve used this app several times but unfortunately it just confuses me with random turns. I thought it was user error but after 4 bad runs ive decided to only use it as a pre run app to estimate mileage. Great concept but needs work not really sure why this is out of beta.

  16. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Great idea, it will get better. I’m updating my review from 4 stars to 1 since you can’t do much anymore without subscribing. I’ve been a RunGo user for sometime. It has flaws, but overall I’m usually pretty happy. I dislike that it tells me to turn on S Pine instead of South Pine. I also dislike how precise you need to be in your map making. Sometimes on a corner it will mark a left then turn you around. If you don’t follow that slight left you’ll be “off route” and the watch has a hard time catching up. Most of the times I’m trying a new route in a familiar area, but if not I try really hard to study street names for this reason. Overall I am happy with the app and it features like seeing the map while on the run, but it has flaws which I’m sure will evaporate over time.

  17. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Dreadful, can’t imagine a worse app. Tried running my company’s virtual 5k with this piece of garbage useless app. Impossible to find the race, and now impossible to submit it. I can’t imagine how the app could be any worse. Wish i could give zero stars.

  18. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Closes out. I liked this app at first, but if I get a phone call or switch to another app (like Pandora), the app closes and I don’t always realize it. I never know how long ago it closed so there’s no way to tell how long it wasn’t tracking. It’d be nice if continued to track since I didn’t stop going.

  19. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Can’t use the app without authorizing Siri. I’m in a running group that uses this app four our weekly runs. I can’t use the app at all unless I authorize Siri. There is no way to say no or navigate to the app. I really don’t use Siri that way and I certainly don’t want to be forced to authorize somethinh just to see an app my weekly running group uses. It’s a poor user experience to block access from the moment a new user opens your app.

  20. ★★★★search fails to find what is needed

Not compatible with new Apple Watch. I love the concept of this app. My friend told me that she loved it. I even created my first route. I was looking forward to using it with my watch; however, I cannot even find the icon to download it onto my watch. I tried to send it to my watch from my phone. Apparently, it cannot share with my watch because I need WatchOS 3.1.1. My watch is brand new.

  21. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Not really free. I got the app to help navigate me on a long run in an unfamiliar city. First of all, it got confused about my location and started giving me wrong directions, so that didn't help. Second, when I finished, I couldn't even view all of my splits without paying for a subscription! Just stick with Strava...

  22. ★★★★crashes, freezes and errors

App not working. I have loaded this app multiple times and each time it goes to open it will start to open the login/home page and it immediately bypasses that screen and goes to a blue/teal screen that talks about this being the best running app. I have a iPhone 7 and am not able to use due to not being able to access the home screen to access the routes I would like.

  23. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Used to be great, now not so good. I’m a long time user of the app, but for the last few months the quality has degraded. Directions stop getting spoken; distances are miscalculated; the iPhone and Watch apps don’t talk to each other and sometimes start runs without being requested to. The principle is great, and when it all works, I love it. But it’s been months of crummy quality at this point and so 👎.

  24. ★★★★crashes, freezes and errors

Great concept, pathetic when using. I love this apps concept, wish other running apps would build it in. But this app is terribly buggy, most runs it randomly kicks in the voice guidance and vibrating in the middle of the run, this last one it never came on at all, and I got lost. I'm new to this area/country which is why I'm using it, but if it doesn't fulfil it's basic offering, then it cannot get more than 1 star. Uninstalling....

  25. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Take caution with this app!. Avid runner and running app user. Decided to give RunGo a try since always like route rec options and turn by turn. But...This one is essentially useless and perhaps a bit dangerous given what it fails to deliver. (1) Need to start at exact starting point. Not able to pick up run in middle of loop. (2) Turn by turn didn’t work making it necessary to hold phone and watch route. Dangerous. (3) And perhaps most importantly, though route was labeled as “verified”, it was treacherous and downright dangerous neighborhood and terrain (on/off ramps). Will be ceasing my auto renewal. Too many apps in this space for this one not to deliver.

  26. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Apple Watch not independent. What is the point of making this app for the Apple Watch when you still have to lug your iPhone with you???? The Garmin Fenix 3 allows you to create routes on your pc and then import them to your Watch and you are all set and NO phone to lug.

  27. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Used to be a lot better. Developers got greedy, hardly does anything now

  28. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Baffling. Route designed by a Cocker Spaniel! Constantly saying ‘turn left, turn right’ at the same time, which would have meant running into the undergrowth. Followed directions but kept then hearing ‘you appear to be off route’. Spent more time stopping to look at the map than maintaining a decent pace.

  29. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Beware !!. Paid the subscription but my account has not been updated to reflect this and keeps asking me to pay again. I’ve now been emailing their support for 2 days and zero responses.

  30. ★★★★an update broke a familiar workflow

Can’t change to km. New update looks great but frustrating that can’t change the distance from miles to km when plotting out a route
