  1. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Download don’t work. I purchased the premium subscription and have followed all of the directions to be able to download sleep stories to listen to off-line and none of them work. The documentation seems very clear, but none of the troubleshooting options seem to actually work. Total waste of time.

  2. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Not worth it being a different product from calm. Why do you have 2 apps doing basically the same thing with overlapping features?

  3. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

App is a RIP OFF. This app is a RIP off!!! You pay ALOT for it and then it and get minimal information. To get music, etc. you need to pay ALOT a SECOND time to get

  4. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Is there a way to tell it you hate a sound?. The sleep sound it gave me is music but it sounds awful, like an orchestra not quite tuned. This is not going to help me sleep but you can only “heart” the selection. It doesn’t let you tell it to never play that again. The second night it gave me rain with noisy barnyard sounds. Drowned out my partner’s snores but I’m still awake…

  5. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

THIS APP SUCKS. This app makes you pay for EVERYTHING good and im not even exaggerating i remembered this app from a few years ago and the only reason i got it was for the rain and comforting sounds lime fireplaces crackling n such, well IT MAKES YOU PAY---FOR RAIN--- like if i wanted to listen to rain for $70 a year id just go outside 🙄😒😑DONT BUY THIS APP UNDER ANY CERCUMSTANCES UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET SCAMMED 😑😑😑

  6. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Not needed. Just make the Calm app better- no one needs 2 calm apps.

  7. ★★★★a needed feature is missing

Not great, pretty let down.. Almost exactly like calm. I am not really seeing a difference. No way to loop tracks with a timer so you don’t get a full night. I tend to go back to calm. Catalogue of both is super limited. Wish there was way more variety.

  8. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

AI Voices. I got about ten minutes into the seven day trial and every snippet on the app was AI voice. If I wanted that I would literally give a prompt to a free AI. Super disappointing

  9. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Can’t login. No customer service after paying for a subscription. Cant setup password because it’s not functioning to accept anything I input. Not happy and definitely not CALM!🤬

  10. ★★★★trial charges and refunds

One star for misleading. First, I have a lifetime subscription to the original Calm app, a member over 5 years. I was curious how this app differed. Here’s my problem with the growing trend of bait and switch in technology companies. Signed up for free trial. Content not significantly different. I canceled trial only to receive a charge for one month subscription. Cannot get it back. No anger. Disappointed. Just wanted others to be aware.

  11. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Not the same. I’ve had the regular Calm app for years and a couple of months before my annual subscription renewed. Calm offered me this app at a discounted rate for a year instead of renewing the regular app. I thought this would have the same stories and features from the regular app but just wouldn’t include the daily motivation. That was OK with me because I don’t use the daily motivation. But this app doesn’t have any overlap from the regular Calm app.

  12. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

This app sucks. You have to buy the one thing you downloaded the app for frustrating

  13. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Disappointed. If you are already a lifetime member of the regular calm, there are duplicates. So I can pay extra to listen to the same stories. Make that make sense. Except for the to do list for sleep. It seems like it’s a way to get extra money for the same material. I’m disappointed that they didn’t just integrate the new to do list in the regular app.

  14. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Insulting. I am hugely insulted that after paying for a lifetime Calm subscription, I’m expected to pay an additional charge for what should just be part of Calm. Very disappointed in this blatant display of corporate greed by a company I trusted.

  15. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Too expensive. I can't afford this!!

  16. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

    Horrific. Don’t Bother

  17. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Pretty Pathetic. So basically instead of putting all this in the original Calm app, that we’ve already had to purchase either a subscription, or a lifetime license too. They’ve decided to create another standalone app that’s separate so that your lifetime license doesn’t apply, or your current subscription you’re already paying. Seems like corporate greed to me. This all could have easily been put into the existing app, either as a separate category or in the sleep section.

  18. ★★★★trial charges and refunds

Avoid this app. I thought this might be a more economical alternative to the full Calm app so I took out a free 7 day trial. I was not impressed and tried to cancel the same day. I have not been able to do so. Calm charged my credit card early and is non-responsive to my attempts at cancellation.

  19. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Have to pay 70 dollars!!?. You can’t do anything because you have to pay!!?? Like what the heck!?

  20. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Paid app. You get a free trial yes but then any real functions are behind a paywall. A week free isn’t long enough to know if I wanna pay $70 for an app annually

  21. ★★★★trial charges and refunds

Worse than the great Calm app. Update: worse than calm app because after your sleep story ends, your soundscape does not start. I’m sticking with the original. This isn’t anything special or different than the Calm app. Other apps will warn you when your trial is about to end. Calm Sleep will just charge you.

  22. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Wants me to get a free trial and pay. I hate apps that do something like this just to remove your app from the App Store

  23. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Why another app?. Not enough content, redundant content with normal Calm app and clunky app design. Not worth the money. They will canibalize on the content on the legacy Calm app and piss off new and old users.

  24. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Not free at all.. Cannot do anything unless you pay.

  25. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Disappointing. I love Calm and am a lifetime subscriber. So I was naturally drawn to try the new sleep app, and, regrettably, I am disappointed. The app feels clunky and restrictive, and doesn’t seem to reflect reality, despite the pretty analytics animation. I wonder if the creators had considered/would be open to including more features to allow users to mark off and personalize daily suggestions: -ability to dismiss a suggestion if doesn’t seem relevant and choose a different one from a short list of 3-5, -ability to mark off items later in the day (“morning” prompts are no longer available at 9:00am), -ability to dismiss suggestions for one day or forever, -ability to connect to the main Calm app and take into account the sessions completed there on the same day (don’t suggest a 12 min sound healing if I just did 25 min in the other app, etc.)

  26. ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Records LESS sleep than I actually do. 😑 Doesn’t take into consideration if you wake up and go back to sleep, so it constantly records that I only sleep 5️⃣ hours even though my Apply watch and Health App successfully record that I wake up and go back to sleep and sleep closer to seven or eight. Anyone else? Sleep sounds are nice tho.

  27. ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Biggy AF. This app needs to recognize that some people go to bed after midnight sometimes. There are way too many bugs; most of the time, it gets stuck on whatever I did three days ago.

  28. ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Some features don’t cross over. Got this because I mainly use Calm for its sleep stories but I’m sad so say some important features don’t cross over. First, you can’t make playlists like you can in the Calm app. If you choose a sleep story, that’s the only one you can listen to. Or, if you do a mix of things, that’s too bad in this app. Second, there’s no timer. So when you fall asleep you may still hear sounds and re-awaken. I was excited about this app and sad to see it fall short.

  29. ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Navigation weakness - Can’t choose from all stories. As a former user of Calm - mainly for the sleep stories - I was very excited for this app and signed up asap. Expected a few early issues but months later these issues are not resolved. 1. No way to find old sleep story favorites from calm without knowing name or narrator. There is no “all sleep stories” list of all like on calm app. 2. So often there are stories that simply don’t load when you click on them. Even when they are featured, like Harry Styles. I gave two stars bc at least some stories work. But overall the app is a disappointment.

  30. ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Not much content unique from the original Calm app. App is quite buggy, so the additional features aren’t all that useful. But, there are a couple sleep meditations on Calm I like, and figured, for a whole separate subscription cost, there would be more content. Maybe there are a few more stories? As far as meditations, there was nothing new. Nor in soundscapes. Not worth a second subscription for sure. Canceled during free trial and went back to Calm.
