  1. ★★★★limited routines and no custom flow builder

Redundant and lacks creativity. Very repetitive yoga flows, got bored after 2 weeks

  2. ★★★★Apple Watch integration

The app is good but the Apple Watch app is the worst. The Apple Watch itself doesn’t even show the yoga exercises it only comes to life if you open something on iPhone that is a very poor limitation of the app and discourages me from using it . I will delete the app for Apple Watch because seriously it’s pointless

  3. ★★★★limited routines and no custom flow builder

Can’t Create Own Workout. You would think that an app as old as this one would’ve by now added the ability to form your own workout. It’s not a difficult feature to add.

  4. ★★★★other

Keeps saying no Internet connection and won’t connect to Spotify. This app used to work so much better but now I get errors and deleting and reinstalling doesn’t work. Waste of time for a once helpful app.

  5. ★★★★instructor voice and diction

Sexist. The app still sounds like an unrealistic female cartoon character. Bring back the normal-sounding woman.

  6. ★★★★instructor voice and diction

Way to fast for the average beginner. No way to slow it down so when it goes inhale exhale inhal exhale and does 4 different poses in 10 seconds it’s hard to follow along. Needs to be a way to do it at half speed at least geez

  7. ★★★★practice anywhere anytime

NOT FOR BEGINNERS. Seriously, do not get this app if you’re a beginner. They go through the poses so fast that you have to keep pausing to get into the pose, especially if you aren’t already incredibly in shape, because it’ll go from laying to standing to laying to standing to leg in the air. They don’t go slow and there’s no setting to make it go a little slower (which there definitely should be). If you’re a beginner I recommend an app more suited to you.

  8. ★★★★limited routines and no custom flow builder

Buyer Beware. While it is well-made and simple, there are only 5 lessons available. And they are more advanced lessons. I wish I could make my own lessons with the given poses, but that doesn’t exist. Don’t waste your money.

  9. ★★★★limited routines and no custom flow builder

Awful. The intermediate level ocean practice was just....the slowest sun salutations that I’ve ever encountered. Over and over. It was only three dollars, but I kind of want it back? I double checked to make sure I hadn’t accidentally clicked on the sun salutations practice and I hadn’t. Don’t buy this app. It’s garbage.

  10. ★★★★other

New update is awful. This used to be my favorite yoga app. Now, they won’t let me play my own music unless it’s with Spotify. Trash move. And pointless. So, it’s either find another app (none are that great) or just go thru an hour long workout in silence. What are you doing, app developers???

  11. ★★★★other

External music no longer works. I’m connected to Spotify but it will stop my music and begin playing the yoga apps music. I don’t know how you guys “improved” the integration, but it’s clearly not working like it use to.

  12. ★★★★pose pace too fast

How to hurt yourself with yoga. This is yoga without a soul. The poses are intermittently too fast or too slow. It’s essentially the same thing repeated over and over and there’s nothing thoughtful about it. Bummed I spent any money on it but mostly bummed I wasted my time.

  13. ★★★★instructor voice and diction

Painful instruction.. The instruction voice makes it impossible for me to connect to my body or breath in any sort of way that would make my yoga session useful or beneficial. The abruptness of the inhale & exhale instruction, which are constant and always in the exact same voice, made me literally feel like I was being slapped each time the word was uttered.

  14. ★★★★limited routines and no custom flow builder

Zero customization. Not worth the money. Can’t customize anything, the smallest session you can choose is 30 minutes, and you can’t mix and match and create your own routine. Total waste of money, there’s much better apps out there.

  15. ★★★★other

Constantly crashing. I just bought this app after reading the write up for it and I must admit that I was very excited, I’ve already created my account for it and now it crashed every time I attempt to open it. Please fix this issue.

  16. ★★★★Apple Watch integration

NOT available as a watch complication 🙄. VERY MISLEADING. I purchased with the intention of using it on my watch but to my disappointment- its not available on my watch. Why is it available in the watch App Store and have pictures in the previews on a watch if its not available on the watch?!?

  17. ★★★★pose pace too fast

Meh. This is a good app with some good features, however, the beginners option goes so fast how are you supposed to keep up? I get it if that was expert mode, but people who are just starting out and don’t know the poses well or aren’t used to doing them cannot keep up. This makes the app difficult to use and not very relaxing.

  18. ★★★★instructor voice and diction

Bad and frustrating.. The app design is nice, and the way it works with the Apple TV mirroring is very helpful too. But, every time they say “inhale” and “exhale” I want to punch them because it sounds so weird. The timing of the breathing prompts is really bad too. Speaking of timing, they fly through the poses. By the time you get into a pose it’s time for the next. There’s no stretching because you don’t have time. They also don’t show any kind of transitions or explain how to do any of these movements. You can’t just magically pop into the next position like the illustrations do. Going between positions is a big part of the exercise that is completely left out. I couldn’t tolerate more than 5 minutes of this app.

  19. ★★★★instructor voice and diction

Annoying. Couldn’t make it past the first few poses with the audio guidance saying inhaaaaaaale and exhaaaaaale in a robotic voice. The poses would also transition in 1 second an send rushed. Waste of money if you like to enjoy your yoga experience.

  20. ★★★★limited routines and no custom flow builder

Not worth the money. You get 5 workouts and 2 are sun salutations. The rest of the app is poses. You can't even create your own flow sequence. The poses are illustrated not live people.

  21. ★★★★pose pace too fast

Disappointing. Goes way too fast to get into proper poses. Also is too repetitive and does one or two things for the entire hour. Wish I saved my money.

  22. ★★★★instructor voice and diction

The voiceover instructions are BAD!. I don’t write app reviews often but I had such a bad experience with Pocket Yoga that I have to say something about it. First off, the voiceover sounds like a robot. It’s like Siri giving you the instructions in an unbearably monotonous voice with a weird intonation. I’m sure with all the money they get from their users the developers of this app can hire a voice actor or actress to narrate the practices so it feels more organic. Second, the instructions are incomplete. They don’t include intermediary poses when transitioning from one pose to another. I was doing the Desert practice and at one point the instructions told me to go from an extended side angle pose to a low push up in one exhale. Like come on, really? Third, when you’re holding a pose for several breaths the monotonous voiceover starts counting down the seconds. There’s no way anyone can get over the repetitive monotonous Siri-like countdown and actually focus on the practice. I was screaming inside my head for the voiceover to just SHUT UP so I can stay in the pose in silence for one minute! Also, with all the money they collect couldn’t the app developers actually find someone real to put in the video? It’s easy for an animation to switch between child’s pose and upward facing dog in the blink of an eye and repeat it like 10 times, but the “flow” is not so smooth when I do it. Maybe if there was a real person actually going through the sequence it would give me an idea as to what I can improve on. Overall, worst App Store purchase ever! I wish there was a way I could return it.

  23. ★★★★Apple Watch integration

Misleading. So the yoga routines are good, good explanations and the poses are explained well. However, this should not be advertised as usable with Apple Watch. It tracks on exercise minutes. The apps keeps saying it cannot read heart rate even though I have allowed it in settings and it does not track calories toward your move goal. Do not download for use with Apple Watch. I am very angry I paid for this app believing it was compatible.

  24. ★★★★practice anywhere anytime

Frustrated !. I’m still hoping to figure this app out! I feel like I wasted my time and money. I will change my rating if and when I want to spend more time on it .

  25. ★★★★pose pace too fast

Horrible. Not only is this app way to fast between poses. Completely unrealistic doesn't even let you switch for longer time frames. I can't even get in a stretch before having to change. Don't recommend it.

  26. ★★★★instructor voice and diction

Distracting Voiceover. The instructor’s voice is terribly abrasive. She awkwardly elongates the words inhale and exhale throughout the entirety of the routine. The app itself is attractive, well designed, and easy to navigate, but is still a waste of money.

  27. ★★★★pose pace too fast

This app made me hate Yoga. Don’t use this app if you just started doing Yoga. It’s really fast pace and it’s not the yoga that I usually do. I thought yoga is relaxing but the ones on here is not. Deleting this app soon.

  28. ★★★★instructor voice and diction

Annoying and Disappointing. I found the voice to be really annoying anytime she says “inhaaaaaaale” and “exhaaaaaaale”. I think it’s supposed to be slow and relaxing but really it’s like a robot is trying to tell me when to breath... and it’s wrong. I would be turning blue or hyperventilating if I actually listened to it. At one point the alternating yoga poses were just too quick and were starting to hurt my back. Since I’m not new to yoga and I’m in shape, this was surprising for an app marketed for beginners. Do not recommend for anyone, new or advanced yoga practitioners.

  29. ★★★★limited routines and no custom flow builder

Boring. Same poses and sequences over and over. Down Dog is a cheaper app that changes the practice every time and is more than just 6-8 sun salutations in a row. This may be good for beginners but not experienced yogis. Waste of money.

  30. ★★★★pose pace too fast

DANGEROUS. This app gives very little audio guidance, from neglecting to call out which leg or side you’re moving to little tips to help you appropriately get into the positions. I’ve been doing yoga for over a decade, doing classes, videos and apps. It was frustrating to have to break pose to look up at the screen to see which pose was being referenced and it made me nervous that someone could seriously injure themselves if they didn’t know better. The app goes way too fast through poses and doesn’t take into account the minute movements that are required to accurately get into the next position. Be warned also, the class I did (desert, 60min, intermediate) was very repetitive and didn’t have a good variety of poses. It felt as I was going through the program that no one actually really went through to quality check these things... now- did I get a good sweaty workout in? Yes. So that was a plus, but it was boring and difficult to follow. Was the app itself simple to use, yes. Was it cute appearance-wise? Yes. Still be very careful, and better yet save your money and get the yoga studio app. I will not be using this app again. *delete* Wish I could get my $3 back...
