   Auto login didn’t work. Once upon a time (I believe) True Key would log in to my apps and websites automatically on the phone. Now that never works. Sometimes I get an error message. Sometimes I get asked to create a new log in. On the other hand, Apple’s password vault works every time. Not sure why I still have True Key.

   Zero customer service. My phone was destroyed, and it was my only trusted device. For over a year, I’ve struggled with customer support to regain access to my account—with no success. I’ve canceled my account.

   Disappointment After Two Years with TrueKey – Needs Improvement. I’ve been a TrueKey user for over two years, and while the concept of the app initially appealed to me, my experience has been far from satisfactory. The promise of seamless sign-ins is great, but in reality, it falls short. Every attempt to use TrueKey on my iPhone, whether for web or app logins, results in the same frustrating error message: “Unexpected error has occurred. Please try again.” Selecting TrueKey over iCloud Keychain should be a smooth process, but it’s anything but. The app only signs me in half the time, and its inconsistency is a major drawback. Its buggy and faulty nature makes me question its reliability compared to other password managers. With my subscription nearing its end, I’m seriously considering switching to a different service. A product should deliver on its promises, and unfortunately, TrueKey doesn’t. It fails to function properly, even in basic tasks like opening. For an app designed to simplify access, these issues are more than just minor inconveniences—they undermine the entire purpose of the app. My advice to potential users: consider other options that might offer a more reliable experience.

   Update your app—insecure!. Why was your TrueKey security app’s last update three years ago? Version 6.1.3 Please explain to me how a security app is supposed to be secure if you haven't made any updates in three years. The app experiences a glitch so often I'm beginning to think someone hacked the app.

   Less Security by using this?. I have not tried the app but it seems to me that because the app has one login for every login then doesn’t that make it easier, say for a domestic partner gone bad, to get into every single thing and in addition create new accounts in your name more conveniently because of the auto fill? So, isn’t this a step backwards in security?

    Glitchy - Won’t let me sign in on iPhone. I really tried to give this app a chance since it was included in mcafee subscription but I can’t deal with it anymore. I have tried so many times to set up truekey on my iphone but it keeps giving me an error and signs me out. I also don’t like how it makes you delete the passwords one by one when you wanna leave and not mass delete. That’s really annoying.

    Tough choice when there are so many other great password managers. I recently began using this with McAfee. I have used the password manager from Dashlane and Kaspersky , truekey is a poor performer The integration between a phone I’d request and use on the laptop does not work . There is no Face ID on iPhone to make access user friendly and if the phone is being linked to open the app on the desktop atleast make it work . There appears to be no communication on the desktop with any ancillary device like your phone that is used. Logging on the desktop , not user friendly as there are no options to keep you logged in 2 factor authentication via phone numbers and text messaging does not even appear to exhist The advanced option for 2 FA is a joke with no availability to use any of the Authenticator apps. Given a choice of apps , I would not recommend this as it is a poorly conceived password manager. The designers are behind the curve , they can see how others have done a great job and just duplicate some of the aspects that work or even attempts to improve upon it

    Marketing FEAR!. Quit harassing me by communicating with me without my permission. I’m a resident of California- and as such want To see what kind of information you have collected on me. I have no idea how these alerts, messages, etc are coming to me in the first place. Perhaps I had purchased a product from you years ago and you have just been nagging me ever since. Since I have no recollection of how you would have gotten my name and contact information, please advise me as to how we will get my information off of your system. Before you eliminate that information, I would like to request, in readable format, all of the information that you have on me or my account. If you do not respond within the required period of time according to the CCPA, I will take legal action. I tried contacting customer support- however every time I hit send, your system would freeze up. Convenient.

    Worst experience ever. This whole system is flawed. There is no way to delete the account once it’s made, it’s an aggressive autocorrect for accounts and sign ins. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone

    what is going on?. I haven’t been able to log in to true key app in months. customer service was useless and made the problem more complicated than it needed to be. when i click to reset password it won’t allow me to because it says my phone isn’t a trusted device, wth? seriously? simple issues like this shouldn’t be so difficult to resolve. Update: I don’t have a case number? Maybe make it easier to contact customer service to resolve this issue?

    Can’t Login. I can’t login on my iPhone it’s only working on the PC, how do I get it to login? I put my info in and then it says sending link to email but then it says invalid request! Sends email to confirm, I click email link, then nothing! What do I do?

    Not working. I use to love Truekey. I even bragged about it. But now when I try to login to my accounts using the Truekey app, it gives me an error message and it’s not working. I am so upset.

    Stopped working weeks ago, dev won’t fix. Weeks ago the two step authentication stopped working on some of my devices but not others. Contacted support. They insist on CALLING me back, won’t email, won’t leave a VM... they tell me they know about it’s on the end... no news, no fix, been another week...

    Problems logging in. Most of the time unable to log in. Instead message pops up that there seems to be a problem connecting to the TrueKey servers... Tried over excellent Wifi and 5G.

    App remains broken. The app remains broken, with glaring errors unaddressed for now years, and features that, when they work, send one into ecstasies of joy because it’s so unexpected. Of course, if McAfee cared about any of this they’d have a quality mechanism to receive and act on feedback, but that’s clearly not a priority

    Non Functional. Everything works great on the desktop version and it is even pushing updates I make to the App, however if I try to do anything on the app it’s completely non functional. There are multiple buttons that do nothing when tapped, and I can’t make any edits to passwords, create new passwords in the app, or really do anything whatsoever.

    Can’t even login. I use this on PC with no issues but trying to use the app on iOS was just frustrating. I can’t even login to this thing. I put in the login information, it sends me an email to verify, I confirm via the email, it then pops up the mcafee site saying access is granted I go back to the app and nothing. Try to log in again and that process just repeats, did it 5 times then uninstalled this useless app.

    Can’t update your email - problematic. My email changed after having this account for several years. Then I got a new iPhone. The double confirmation system went to my old iPhone and my old email so I couldn’t get into my account. After calling customer support and getting disconnected three times they said all they could do is delete all of my passwords and start over. My phone number never changed. I could prove my identify but that’s all they gave me. So I agreed. They still haven’t made the chance a day later. So I can’t get into my old account and can’t start my new one. Since I have to start over anyway I’ll be starting with another app.

    Difficult to change passwords. It is cumbersome to replace previously stored passwords on a website with a randomly generated suggestion.

    App has become terrible in past weeks!. Have used TrueKey for years & all was fine. Several weeks ago they removed desktop version so now must use as browser add-on. Now they’ve messed up the iPhone app. ALL of the “notes” sections for my sign-ons & ID cards has been erased, which has created a great deal of problems for me. Not able to provide any feedback online to company. Another lousy feature. This product is no longer reliable & my advice is to use a different password keeper. I will be doing that shortly.
